HILARIOUS sign imagines if Bernie was a bartender…

At the heart of socialism is envy. Both you and your neighbor think you’re benefiting at the others expense – while in reality you’re just receiving back what was yours in the first place. That’s why it’s so misleading for Bernie Sanders to describe the outcomes of his proposals as providing “free” college, or “free” healthcare.

In fact, this sign spotted by a writer for the Federalist Papers hammers across the point perfectly:

That’s a bar I could see myself supporting.

On a more serious note, back in September the Wall Street Journal put some numbers on the cost of “free” under a Sanders presidency, and it isn’t pretty.

According to health care analyst Avik Roy, the above estimates are too conservative. According to his estimates, Bernie’s healthcare plan alone would increase Federal spending by $28 trillion over ten years.

I’m not feeling the bern, but if he had a shot at the presidency, it’s clear our wallets would.
