The polls are often quite telling in predicting the outcome of a race, but there’s a more accurate way of predicting a victor: betting odds.
If there’s one person betting Hillary Clinton will be president for every person betting Trump will be president, there’s an implied 50% chance that either will become president. Fox Business’ John Stossel created the website electionbettingodds.com, which aggregates bets on this election and computes the probability of each candidate’s victory.
Unlike the stock market, there’s not exactly any regulations on insider trading in the world of election betting. Insiders always know more than the rest of us, and for that reason the betting odds are more in line with reality than any polls could predict.
The site has recently added statistics on who the market predicts the Vice Presidential nominee will be, which are as follows:
Other contenders on the Democrat side include Cory Booker, Al Franken, and a handful of people you and I have never heard of before. As for Trumps’ potential other picks, they include Chris Christie, Mike Huckabee, Ben Carson, Condoleezza Rice, Marco Rubio, and even former Democrat Presidential candidate Jim Webb.
