It’s official: Now we KNOW why Obama NEVER gets in trouble with the media…

The late New Yorker film critic Pauline Kael once famously remarked in 1972 that she didn’t understand how Nixon won the election, as, “I live in a rather special world. I only know one person who voted for Nixon.”

For whatever reason, the media has always been a left-of-center bubble. Political scientist Tim Gloseclose jokes that in the media, there are two kinds of political views: liberal, and progressive (alluding to a classic Blues Brothers quote, “we have two kinds of music: country and western”).

It’s a blessing to liberal politicians, and a curse to conservatives. As the Washington Free Beacon reported, among the White House press corps, there isn’t a single Republican to be found.

Not a single member of the White House press corps is a registered Republican, according to survey results recently published by Politico.

Those results are buried in a story this week on President Barack Obama’s relationship with the press. An infographic posted in the story reveals that not a single one of the 72 members of the White House press corps surveyed by the Virginia-based trade publication identifies with the GOP.

Of the journalists surveyed, more than a quarter are registered Democrats and 13 percent are not members of any political party. Sixty percent are not registered to vote, but 72 percent of those polled said they think reporters should vote in elections they cover.

It’s no wonder there’s a double standard on what will get Republicans in trouble, versus what gets Democrats in trouble.

And no wonder that this is one area we don’t hear the left’s cries for diversity…
