Here was one of the more surprising parts of last night’s Democrat debate: Hillary claiming she’s been on board with a $15 minimum wage just like Senator Sanders.
The moment came when Wolf Blitzer asked if Clinton would sign a $15 minimum wage into law if such a bill were to appear on her desk. She stated she would.
“I have supported the Fight for $15. I am proud to have the endorsement of most of the unions that have led the Fight for $15,” Clinton said.
The look of disbelief on Sanders face as Hillary tried to play that one off was priceless.
Sanders replied with a hint of mockery, “I am sure a lot of people are very surprised to learn that you supported raising the minimum wage to 15 bucks an hour.” He continued, “when this campaign began, I said that we’ve got to end the starvation minimum wage of $7.25, raise it to $15. Secretary Clinton said let’s raise it to $12.”
According to Politifact, Bernie was right to question Clinton’s new-found love of a $15 minimum wage. The only minimum wage rate she’d ever tried to make law was $12 an hour. Here’s a video of the back and forth between the two:
Does she actually believe in a $15 minimum wage, or is she just forced to pander to the far left since she’s running against a socialist? I suppose it doesn’t matter what her intentions are — she’s either an economic illiterate or serial panderer.
