Not a joke: Look who U2 frontman wants to send to defeat ISIS

There are many things wrong with this story, in my humble opinion.

First of all, why is a rock star invited to testify in front of the United States Senate on the subject of the global refugee crisis and violent jihadism?

This is how we treat serious national security problems now? With musicians?

But wait. It gets worse.

Speaking to a Senate subcommittee, U2’s lead singer, Bono, suggested comedy should be used to fight ISIS.

Seriously. This is not a joke.

Per the Telegraph, “It’s like, you speak violence, you speak their language. But you laugh at them when they are goose-stepping down the street and it takes away their power,” he said.

“So I am suggesting that the Senate send in Amy Schumer and Chris Rock and Sacha Baron Cohen, thank you.”

Well it’s comforting to know the U.S. government is considering creative solutions to fix this whole radical Islam problem. Because I thought they were just doing nothing.
