A new Reuters rolling poll shows Donald Trump nearing the magic 50 percent number among Republicans – at least among the Republicans Reuters asked.
No matter what his political opponents, enemies or the media throw in his way, Trump’s polling figures keep on rising.
But that’s just among Republicans.
There’s bad news for Trump when you look at head-to-head match-ups in the general election, and REALLY bad news for the GOP in general.
Real Clear Politics has a selection of polls for New York, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Florida and Ohio, and the results are ugly.
Not a single poll shows Donald Trump beating either Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders. Not a one. Nada. Zip. Zilch.
And what’s worse, a GOP candidate only comes out on top in Ohio and Arizona. Not surprisingly, it’s John Kasich +21 in Ohio against Hillary. Only Ted Cruz manages to show any traction, but only in Ohio (+2) and Arizona (+6).
It’s a bitter pill to swallow, but this may explain why the GOP leaders are frantically looking for other options. That is, if you believe the polls…
