It’s easy to forget there’s an entire world bubbling away outside of our own – particularly when verbal flames, grenades and RPGs are flying swift and hot within the GOP.
But as Col. West reminds us again and again, whoever moves into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue next January will be inheriting one helluva hot mess – made up of a bunch of messes like these.
It seems the whole world is going nuclear – or at least certainly wants to.
MSN reports, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un ordered his military to be ready to launch nuclear strikes at any time, state media reported Friday, an escalation in rhetoric targeting Seoul and Washington that may not reflect the country’s actual nuclear capacity.
The threats are part of the authoritarian government’s ramped-up propaganda push to signal strength at home and abroad in the face of what it portrays as an effort by South Korea and the United States to overthrow its leadership.
Lil’ Kim may live in his own Fantasyland, but his ambitions are very real. And he’s not alone.
Barely covered in the Western press – aside from our friends at MEMRI, is the fact that Saudi Arabia (a signatory to the Nuclear Weapons Non- Proliferation Treaty) has, in violation of its pledge, apparently acquired atomic bombs from Pakistan. Last month, Saudi Saudi Political Analyst Dahham Al-‘Anzi said of course his nation does.
Al-Anzi said it is necessary for the Saudis to confront the “Iranian threat” in Yemen, Iraq and Syria, where “the Russians aid Assad.” Why is that a problem for the Saudis? Perhaps because Russia supports the Syrian government against ISIS and other terrorist groups, financed and armed by Saudi Arabia.
Yet again we see the rotten fruits of Obama’s labors to destabilize the Middle East.
And all our nation can talk about right now is the implications of small hands.
