Yes, yes, I know you’re looking at this story and thinking is this a surprise in any way? But trust me, this really does take the cake for dumb things.
Yesterday, MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry got into a heated discussion with her guests about how the water crisis in Flint, Michigan has affected illegal immigrants there. When the National Guard officers go door to door to deliver water to elderly and disabled people, illegals don’t want to answer their doors for fear it’s actually immigration officers who will deport them.
As BizPac Review reports, MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry said Saturday that she did not want this to mar Obama’s last year in office.
Deportation sweeps have created an atmosphere of fear, Harris-Perry believes, as the Michigan immigrant community’s reluctance to accept aid has led to their falling victim to the poisoned water.
“This does feel to me like potentially a black/brown coalition moment,” said Harris-Perry on MSNBC Saturday, “because I don’t want the Obama administration’s final year to be marred by a fugitive slave law around the question of this deportation that leads in the context of Flint to actual children being actually poisoned by lead because their parents are too afraid to open the door for clean water.”
Then Harris-Perry’s guest, Jamilah Lemieux, when off the rails herself, saying, “One of the most terrifying things about this moment for me is the possibility that a Republican can become the next president and that this precedent has been set by the Democrat that we can come into your house at 4 or 5 o’clock in the morning while you’re asleep and take you and your family away. So what happens next when we have candidates that have said I’m not letting Muslims in and I have no problem putting all you brown people out. That’s TERRIFYING.”
No what’s terrifying is how many liberals think exactly the way you do and will vote to continue more of the same.
