We’re just learning that GOP presidential hopeful Ben Carson is suspending his campaign after several of his Iowa staffers were involved in a serious car accident.

As IJReview reports:
2016 Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson announced Tuesday afternoon that he is suspending his campaign after several of his Iowa staffers were involved in a car accident.
The crash happened around 11:00 am local time, when three volunteers and an employee were traveling in a van that hit a patch of ice and flipped on its side. It was then struck by another vehicle.
All four of the Carson workers in the vehicle have been hospitalized, and one of the volunteers was flown to the trauma center at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. The retired neurosurgeon is reportedly en route to Omaha to be with the volunteer, who is said to be in “grave condition.”

Dr. Carson’s decision to suspend his campaign to focus on the recovery of his staffers displays an understanding of, ultimately, what matters most.
We send our heartfelt prayers for the full recovery of all involved.
