A poll released earlier last week from the Democratic polling firm Public Policy Polling found that 30 percent of Republicans would support bombing Agrabah – the fictional country from Aladdin.
Pretty embarrassing, right?
Well, a separate polling firm, WPA Research, decided to test how Democrats would react to questions on the fictional country. Democrats are quite welcoming to the Syrian refugees entering our country, but would they welcome refugees from anywhere without putting any thought into it?
The answer is yes, and to a larger extent than the percent of Republicans who would mindlessly bomb it. As TruthRevolt reported:
WPA Research released polling data showing that 44% of Democrats support accepting refugees from fictional Disney city Agrabah named in the movie Aladdin.
WPA said that Democrats “will allow refugees from anywhere into the country, whether they are potential ISIS supporters from Syria or potential cartoon characters on a magic carpet ride/”
Notably, the number was even higher among the youngest cohort, ages 18 to 24. Sixty percent (two-thirds!) of these folks said they would support accepting refugees from Disney’s fictional city.
To put this into perspective, 78 percent of Democrats favor taking refugees from Syria, meaning that a larger percentage of Democrats would rather take in a pool of refugees that shows sympathy towards ISIS (as high as 1/3rd, according to one poll).
At least we might get a Genie if we took in refugees from Agrabah.
