Yikes: Look what happened to beauty queen who criticized ISLAM

We reported last week on Michael Moore’s latest nonsensical stunt, when he stood outside Trump Tower with a sign reading “We Are All Muslim.”

Among the many people who commented on Moore’s stunt was Destiny Velez, Miss Puerto Rico, who took to Twitter to fire back:

While she garnered an immense amount of support, the Miss Puerto Rico Organization still decided to suspend her. As CNN reports, “Miss Puerto Rico 2015 has been suspended indefinitely for posting a series of anti-Muslim messages on Twitter.

Her Twitter page has since been taken down, and Velez has apologized.

The Miss Puerto Rico Organization issued a statement over the weekend distancing itself from her comments.

“In regards to Miss Puerto Rico, Destiny Velez’s, recent actions and conduct; the Miss Puerto Rico Organization feels that her words do not represent the integrity and esteem of our program, nor that of our board members, our sponsors and partners, or the National Organization,” it read.

“Miss Velez’s actions were in contradiction to the organization, and therefore as a consequence of her actions, she has been suspended indefinitely. The Miss Puerto Rico Organization will not tolerate any actions or behavior contrary to the Miss Puerto Rico Organization.”

And of course, we got an apology from Miss Puerto Rico herself:

“I apologize to the people I have offended with my words. I am first and foremost an #UpStander and as such I stand up against bullying. The last thing I wanted to do was to bully anyone. Again, I apologize to anyone who felt offended with my words,” she said.

Michael Moore offends me with his words and I don’t expect an apology soon.

If there’s anything we’ve learned from liberal backlash, apologizing is the last thing you want to do. Apologizing is an admission of guilt to the left.

Chick-Fil-a didn’t apologize, and their sales soared. Hobby Lobby didn’t apologize, and their sales soared. The NRA isn’t apologetic and we see what happens to gun sales every time gun control comes up as a topic in the news. Oh, and of course Donald Trump doesn’t apologize and look what keeps happening to his poll numbers.

You can find the Miss Puerto Rico organization on Twitter – maybe they should know what people really think.
