Well this is getting interesting.
The masked “hacktivist” group Anonymous is calling on its members to take to the streets on Friday December 11th for a “day or rage” in major cities including London, Paris and New York to protest against ISIS.
In advance of the event, per the UK Mirror, “Prominent members of the masked hacktivist group have called upon supporters to begin publishing shocking images of dead Islamic State fighters in a bid to “mock” extremists. Supporters have also been urged to post these images in public areas “around your city.”
“You may be wondering why we are “trolling” ISIS and planning all these demonstrations,” an Anonymous supporter wrote.
“To understand that you must first see how ISIS works.
“They thrive off fear and hope that by their actions they can silence all of us and get us to just lay low and hide in fear.
“We will show them that we are not afraid, we will not just hide in our fear, we are the majority and with our strength in numbers we can make a real difference.
“We will mock them for the idiots they are.”
Anonymous supporters have also been urged to identify extremists on social media and then send them “photos of goats with captions talking about their wives.”
Well, I have to admit I don’t quite see how pictures of goats will stop ISIS in its murderous tracks, but it does seem to be a more “powerful rebuke” than holding a climate change summit.
