If the US and France can’t do this together, we’re TOAST

If you’ve noticed, Vladimir Putin was meeting with Iranian leaders, and French President Francois Hollande met with U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron. President Hollande is in Washington D.C. this week to meet with President Obama. Hollande is an avowed socialist, but at least he realizes war has come to his shores and is taking action. We now have French aircraft launching from a carrier platform in the Mediterranean Sea — we shared with you the gap in coverage of our own carriers (CVBG) in the Persian Gulf.

Folks are now making reference to the most recent rhetoric emanating from President Obama. As reported by CNN, “U.S. President Barack Obama toughened his rhetoric against ISIS at a weekend press conference in Malaysia that concluded his nine-day trip abroad. The group responsible for the Paris terror attacks is “a bunch of killers with good social media,” he said.

“They are dangerous and they’ve caused great hardship to … an overwhelming majority of people.” FBI director: We can’t yet restrain ISIS on social media. The global coalition to destroy ISIS “will not relent,” he vowed. “We will not accept the idea that terrorist assaults on restaurants and theaters and hotels are the new normal, or that we are powerless to stop them.”

Obama’s stronger language on ISIS came after days of criticism for his response to the tragedy in Paris but did not signal a policy shift by the administration. “They can’t beat us on the battlefield, so they try to terrorize us into being afraid, and changing our patterns of behavior, and panicking, and abandoning our allies and partners, and retreating from the world,” Obama said. “As president, I will not let that happen.”

It’s “absolutely false” that “we are somehow at war with an entire religion,” he said. “The United States could never be at any war with any religion because America is made up by multiple religions. We’re strengthened by people from every religion, including Muslim Americans. So I want to be as clear as I can on this — prejudice and discrimination helps (ISIS) and undermines our national security.”

Even far left liberal progressive host Bill Maher would disagree with President Obama, in that even he realizes not all “religions” are equal. He clearly stated that we don’t share like values and let’s be honest, if you’re killing someone because they can’t recite from your holy book — hmm, that kinda tells me all I need to know.

But to classify ISIS as just a bunch of killers with good social media sounds more like a reference to the Bloods, Crips, or MS-13. We’re talking about an entity that has a functioning military, an economy, and holds ground. Once again, stronger language does nothing to eradicate this scourge and pestilence from the face of the earth.

And this is not about panicking, it’s about recognizing and defining a savage enemy and bringing about hell upon them. No, ISIS can’t defeat us on the battlefield, but not taking the battlefield to face them makes that assertion murky and nebulous.

We’ve been at this “global coalition” thing since August 2013 and guess what? ISIS commanded and controlled a vicious terrorist attack in France from Syria, so what about their command and control not being degraded, defeated, or destroyed am I missing?

If you do the battlefield calculus, you’ll find our “airstrike” sorties are anemic, and we shared with you that combat pilots are confessing that some 75 percent of their ordnance is not dropped. Who’s telling our combat aviators not to drop their payloads on the enemy? We were early in sharing with you about the false intelligence narrative being promulgated, and now we have a full investigation from the Pentagon on the matter. It appears someone is cooking the books.

I’d truly love to be a fly on the wall when Hollande visits with Obama. The response that should have been issued after the Paris Islamic terrorist attacks should have been to invoke NATO Article V which states that “an attack on one Ally shall be considered an attack on all Allies.”

If NATO doesn’t answer to this, it demonstrates to Vladimir Putin that it is a failed security organization. It also conveys to ISIS that we’re not a coalition of the willing.

This can be done. This must be done. Somehow President George H.W. Bush was able to build a massive coalition that spanked Saddam Hussein out of Kuwait in just about 96 hours. And in this case, we don’t need to build a massive armored force. We DO need inspirational leadership, not just rhetoric and “strong language.”

We are retreating from the world. Obama’s Middle East foreign policy was to “pivot” away. Is the fear of being compared to President George W. Bush just that scary? This is an opportunity for Obama to create a legacy not centered on giving apologetic speeches, supporting Islamists, and decimating our economy and military. Instead Barack Obama lashes out at the media for its scrutiny by stating the “media needs to help by keeping coverage in perspective.”

What perspective is that Mr. President? Is it the false narrative you’ve deceitfully been proliferating? Can any of you imagine what would happen if the liberal progressive media thought President Bush had lied and manipulated intelligence regarding combat operations. Of course I’m being utterly facetious. The blatant hypocrisy is intolerable.

ISIS are indeed killers, and the only way to deal with killers is to kill them. That’s not macho bravado, but simple fact. It was what we had achieved in Iraq — but then again, campaign promises outweigh the sacrifices of our warriors.
