We are witnessing something happening in Israel that speaks volumes. The militant Islamic jihadists are sensing a time of opportunity and are being encouraged to conduct individual terror attacks against innocent Jewish citizens. What do you call the stabbing of a woman sitting at a bus stop? Sadly, we have leadership in America seeking to create a moral equivalency between Israel and the Islamic terrorists.
How much more is Israel expected to endure?
As Fox News reports, “Israeli forces arrested one of the co-founders of the Hamas militant group Tuesday, accusing him of inciting recent violence that has resulted in the deaths of nine Israelis, many in stabbing attacks. The military said Hassan Yousef was arrested near Ramallah. It marks the most high-profile arrest since a wave of unrest swept through the region a month ago.
The military said Yousef had been “actively instigating and inciting terrorism” by encouraging attacks against Israelis. Military spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner told the Associated Press, “Hamas’ leaders cannot expect to propagate violence and terror from the comfort of their living rooms and pulpits of their mosques.”
Also Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas was “fanning the flames” of recent violence. Speaking at a press conference with U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Netanyahu blamed Abbas for incitement. “President Abbas has not condemned a single one of the 30 terrorist attacks against Israelis over the last month and he continues to glorify the terrorists as heroes,” Netanyahu said.
Ban is in the region calling for calm in an attempt to curb weeks of violence that has killed 10 Israelis, 43 Palestinians and an Eritrean migrant worker.
On Tuesday evening, Israel’s military said its forces killed a Palestinian during a clash along the border with the Gaza Strip. A military statement said the soldiers identified Palestinians preparing to attack soldiers on the Gaza border and “foiled the attack, firing toward the snipers, hits were confirmed.”
So why do we need the U.N. Secretary General tin Israel? Ban needs to realize he is responsible for inciting the violence as well by giving the leader of a terrorist organization a platform at the last General Assembly — and the PLO flag was raised at the U.N. You want to talk about emboldening the enemy, what more do you need to do? Abbas then hears our Secretary of State John Kerry and his spokesperson John Kirby put Israel on the same level as his Fatah terrorist organization.
Ask yourself, what was one of the co-founders of Hamas, a designated Islamic terrorist organization, doing near Ramallah? Does this indicate there is no separation between Fatah and Hamas, that they are finally uniting?
And to add insult to injury for Prime Minister Netanyahu, he now has to contend with ISIS using social media to call for jihadist attacks against Israelis.
JNS.org reports ISIS is “focusing on the wave of Palestinian terrorism in Israel and tensions surrounding Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, urging a more “aggressive jihad against the Jews.”
“Fight the Jews any way you can. Terrorize them with explosive devices, tear them to shreds. Cut off the Jews’ heads,” an Islamic State operative asserts in the video. The six-minute video features several scenes where terrorist attacks have taken place over the past few weeks, offers a short history of the Al-Aqsa mosque, and claims the compound is under Jewish “occupation” and that Arab leaders are “not doing enough to liberate” the mosque. The video also features various Islamic State operatives declaring they will soon arrive in Jerusalem to “help our Palestinian brothers slaughter the Jews.”
And what is our position? We call for an end to “random acts of violence.” Furthermore, if there was ever a staunch supporter of Israel, it was Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, and he was just defeated by the 43-year-old liberal party leader, Justin Trudeau, who promised a new era of change — hmm, where have I heard that before?
It is time for change. It’s time to declare Mahmoud Abbas and Fatah as whom and what they are: Islamic terrorists. There is no turning back. There is no hope for peace with folks who want one thing — the extermination of the Jewish people. All we have is silence from Western leaders, and that silence resonates loudly.
Heck, I figure Vladimir Putin will be the one who comes to the rescue, after he secures Syria for Basahr Assad and destroys the Syrian rebel force that Obama was supposedly training and equipping.
Here is a short summary of what has occurred in the last 24 hours: “A Palestinian attacker rammed his car into a group of Israelis waiting at a bus stop at a junction on the outskirts of Jerusalem in the West Bank, the Israeli military said. He then attempted to stab bystanders. A civilian and a soldier were injured in the attack before the attacker was shot and killed, it said. That attack came soon after a 24-year-old Palestinian was shot dead by Israeli forces after he stabbed an Israeli military officer and lightly wounded him, the Israeli military and Palestinian health officials said. The military said it happened during a violent Palestinian protest. In a separate incident in the West Bank, an Israeli man was killed after being run over during a clash with Palestinians. The man exited his car after Palestinian demonstrators threw stones at it and he began to hit passing Palestinian cars with a large stick, according to an Associated Press photographer who witnessed the incident. The man hit a passing truck with the stick, and the truck ran the man over. The Israeli military confirmed his death.”
Perhaps I’m actually asking too much of the Obama administration. After all, he and his party see nothing wrong with felony illegal immigrants roaming free in America, terrorizing our citizens. And if the Islamic jihadists are emboldened to do so there, what keeps them from doing likewise here? Does anyone remember the ax attack in New York City?
Down south we have a rule: the only way to deal with a rabid animal is to put it down. You don’t talk to it and try to pet it. You do one thing: take out your weapon and shoot the varmint. Need I say anymore?
