After being informed that the Community Organizer In Chief recommended closing the office blinds and wearing civilian clothes to work as a way for military recruiters to avoid terrorist attacks, one Marine posted an EPIC response on his Facebook page.
And can you blame him? Does the Pentagon want the Marines to change their slogan from “The few, the proud, the Marines” to “the few, the disarmed, the hiding?”
Hat tip to Freedom Outpost for pointing out this outstanding response from John McCall, a motor transport operator in the Marine Corps since 2009 as well as the Director of Marketing for Visalus Sciences and Lead Technician for Steel Dynamics, Inc.
Just a few days ago, the Obama Pentagon refused to acknowledge the rights of its military members to arm themselves at recruitment offices. Instead, they told them the same thing troops were told in Europe back in November: Don’t wear your uniforms and “close the blinds” for their own protection.
In response to the recommendations, McCall posted on Facebook, “To the higher powers that be: You have suggested we Marines NOT wear our uniforms to recruiting stations for “our own protection”. Let me make myself clear. If I’m not going to hide in Afghanistan during a war, why in the hell would I EVER hide in my own country?”
“The day us Marines run and hide from our enemies will be the day this country falls,” he continued. “We won’t EVER let that happen. We WILL continue to wear our uniform with pride.”
He then added that his words, along with his Marine brother Ben Reynolds’ words “combin(ed) with the actions of many, will restore hope.”
It’s no wonder that Marines, known throughout the universe as the world’s toughest fighting force, are refusing to cower behind their desks as a response to the terrorist attack in Chattanooga that left four Marines and one Navy sailor dead. Nicknamed the Devil Dogs, they didn’t get that name for nothing.
Aside from being one of the dumbest ideas I’ve ever heard, telling our military personnel to “close the blinds” would have done absolutely nothing to protect recruiters in strip mall offices (or any offices with windows). What set of blinds on this earth would stand up to a hail of gunfire from an automatic weapon fired right outside the window? Talk about stupid. The only thing dumber than saying close the blinds is intentionally refusing to arm our recruiters and other military personnel during war time, while demanding they work in unsecured facilities.
Is it stupidity or is it a total disregard for the lives of our men and women in uniform? When political correctness is more important than someone’s life you know the answer.
What in the hell is going on at the Pentagon and the Department of Defense when the supposed leaders of the finest military on earth would allow their fighters to be told “take off your uniform and go hide?” God help our protectors. They’re surrounded by cowardice and incompetence at home and a bunch of cut throat lunatics on the battlefield.
