Here’s the Yearbook Quote from the Chattanooga Shooter Everyone’s Talking About

By now, you’ve likely heard about the tragic shootings of four Marines today at two facilities in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The now-deceased shooting suspect was identified as 24-year-old Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez. According to a U.S. law enforcement source, Abdulazeez was born in Kuwait and came to the United States in 1996. It’s unclear if and when he became an American citizen.

As details emerge about Abdulazeez, one of the eerier ones is this, coming to us from The Blaze:

Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez, identified by authorities as the shooter in Thursday’s attack on military personnel in Chattanooga, Tennessee, provided a now-eerie quote to his school yearbook.

“My name causes national security alerts. What does yours do?” the provided quote said.

Abdulazeez’s yearbook quote surfaced on social media shortly after the FBI identified him as the shooter who killed four Marines and injured a police officer.

Though we can only guess as to his intended meaning behind this quote, it’s especially chilling now in light of today’s tragic events.
