We already KNEW a sense of humor was increasingly lacking these days on America’s hypersensitive, politically correct college campuses. Based on Jerry Seinfeld’s latest comments, campuses won’t be getting help from him any time soon.
Seinfeld’s reason for avoiding college campuses will have Hollywood liberals fuming.
As reported by MEDIAite, Seinfeld told ESPN’s Colin Cowherd that he’s been advised not to “go near” colleges as they’re “so PC.”
As an example, he [Seinfeld] brought up how his wife told their daughter, “In the next couple of years, I think maybe you’re going to want to hang around the city more on the weekends so you can see boys,” and their daughter responded by saying that’s “sexist.”
Seinfeld said, “They just want to use these words. ‘That’s racist, that’s sexist, that’s prejudice.’ They don’t even know what they’re talking about.”
Seinfeld joins a growing number of comedians, such as Chris Rock and Larry the Cable Guy, who’ve said they avoid playing college campuses because of political correctness gone too far. Some even worry that PCness is destroying comedy.
While Hollywood liberals will no doubt destroy Seinfeld for calling a spade a spade (check your own political correctness on that here), we’re happy to have another cultural icon speaking out against the cresting tide of political correctness that isn’t just ruining comedy but dampening honest debate in our nation.
It’s like the only joke we can all laugh at now is the one in the White House.
