Young patriot gives amazing Memorial Day tribute

Since Cody Jackson was four years old, he’s been very aware of the close relationship between our military and the wonderful freedom we enjoy. After he learned the events of 9/11 Cody has felt the irresistible need to show his gratitude as often as he could to service members and formed his own Operation 99 (a naval term, which means “all hands”) to send care packages to our troops, and personally thank and honor those who are serving, or have served. During the years, he’s met countless men and women in uniform, retired, and veterans. Each hold a special place in his and his family’s heart. As Cody’s website says, “The kindness of strangers isn’t dead, it is alive and well. You just have to shake a hero’s hand to find it.”

Last year, Cody set up a Missing Man table for Memorial Day. He didn’t know he needed a permit to go inside the Marietta National Cemetery, but that didn’t stop him. Cody set up his table outside, and remained at attention for two hours.
