There are many remarkable parallels to the Jesus story, in Pagan religions that came long before Christianity, and that also had dying-and-rising savior gods who promised eternal life to their followers.

Donna you are welcome to follow those pagan myths, but I can tell you this with all certainty; moments after you die you will know the truth. Christians do not rely totally on what was written in the past. God reveals himself to us all the time and reinforces what has been written. You will never experience God until you accept Jesus Christ.

Been there, done that. Not very fulfilling. Plus, there were many things in the bible that I found deeply disturbing, from a moral standpoint. So I left Christianity many years ago, and remained an atheist for a while. Then the Many True Gods led me home to pantheism, Nature worship and Pagan spirituality. There I found incredible love, joy, passion, mystery, magic and beauty — and a depth and intensity of spiritual fulfillment that I had never imagined possible. Now every day is a miracle upon the sacred Earth. So I will remain a Pagan, devoted to the eternal Gods… Read more »

how can you be sure it was borrowed? Some one told you it was?

DonnaBianca

Yeah. Historians told me. All you need is a little bit of familiarity with ancient history and pagan religions, and it’s glaringly obvious. Since those other religions came first — usually *centuries* before Christianity — it’s very clear who “borrowed” from whom.

But anyway, here you go:

As I was watching it, I thought to myself, “But it’s leaving out a very important fact: That Jesus Christ is GOD.” Then when the end credits were running, I knew why. Mormonism is a cult that denies the deity of Christ.

AZSUMMERCAT

That is not true. As a “Mormon” we believe in God the Eternal Father and in His son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost. Christ is the literal son of God, therefore making him a God as well.

ForMotionCreatv

“a God as well” in that context would be spelled “a god” and would not be biblical when referring to Jesus Christ.
I’m truly sad for those who’ve been deceived by false prophets. Praying.

Mormonism teaches that Jesus and Lucifer are brothers, both sons of the Father…Big Difference!!

Denial of the Trinity is the prime indicator of false Christianity.

Hein Bertram

Nope, @azsummercat:disqus: Christ is the ETERNAL Son of God/God the Son. He is not merely “a” God. God is One, yet He is Three – Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

Oh I forgot, you know what we believe. Got it.

He’s not the only one. You believe that Jesus was a man that “became” a god if his own world, and that you too can attain the same thing. If you do not know that about your own religion, then it is being kept from you for some reason.

To those that know the Truth this is a disgusting perversion of the truth. Mr. Allen you need to learn the difference between Christ and those cults that use the name of Christ but deny the power there of. Mormons are perverters of the truth they lie about Jesus being God and say that he is one of many gods. They claim that God the Father had sexual relations with Mary the virgin mother of Jesus. They claim that everyone with inherit eternal life but the Bible says only they that put their faith in Jesus Christ and repent of… Read more »

Here is the definition of the word “cult” 1.a particular system of religious worship, especially with reference to its rites and ceremonies. 2.an instance of great veneration of a person, ideal, or thing, especially as manifested by a body of admirers: the physical fitness cult. 3.the object of such devotion. 4.a group or sect bound together by veneration of the same thing, person, ideal, etc. 5.Sociology. a group having a sacred ideology and a set of rites centering around their sacred symbols. 6.a religion or sect considered to be false, unorthodox, or extremist, with members often living outside of conventional… Read more »

Now now my young friend, you must read a little further to understand a language then just a dictionary. Words and our culture are not that easily defined. But I understand that you where bothered by my comments on your religion. I am sorry to have upset you, but devil worship is what we are talking about here. Any worship of a man, idea or object that is not the Creator is devil worship and that is what historically has been called a cult. Deuteronomy 11:16 Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside,… Read more »

Martin Luther is venerated as the leader founder of the Lutheran Church, so I guess the Lutherans are a cult as well.

Joseph Smith being the main venerated firgure = cult !
He was an alchemist/ occultist . He duplicated mormon ceremony very closely after that of Freemasonry .(Look at the symbols on Salt Lake City Temple) Mormons call Lucifer and Jesus brothers, both sons of the Father. He claimed his new book – of mormon- was provided by a “dark angel”. As believers in Yeshua the Messiah, who died and rose again, we were warned not to heed those who brought
“another gospel….even if an angel”

Disturbing. From pro-Islam, LDS.org

“Some even project that Islam will become the most populous religion in the world during the first half of this new century. The roots of this dynamic and, for some people, misunderstood religious movement can be traced back 14 centuries to the humble beginnings and founding work of Muhammad, whom Muslims consider to be the last of a long line of prophets sent by God to teach Islam to the world.”

A really slick misrepresentation of the truth….something that the Mormons are real good at. Yes, He was a carpenter, a teacher, an outcast, and a leader, but they left out the most important part…He is the one and only Son of the Living God, God Incarnate. The video ignores His deity. Yes, “all will live again”, but not because of Him. All will live, in either heaven or hell, but, because of Him, we have the opportunity to live with Him in heaven.

Ummm Steve, perhaps you missed the fact that Christ being the Son of God, the Messiah, is a central tenant of the faith. How else can salvation come if not from one who had power over all things including death. Redemption only comes from the Son of God. How did you miss that in this video? Where did you get your info that Mormons do not believe in that Christ is the Son of the Living God? If you want to nitpick here is what you can chew on. We do not accept the post biblical “doctrines” of the Nicene… Read more »

Disturbing: “BYU opens massive Islamic art exhibit” “Like stepping back in time, visitors to a new exhibit walk through the art and culture of Islam. Works from as long ago as the seventh century, from 10 nations and more than 40 private donors have been brought together to create an atmosphere of “Beauty and Belief.” Visitors pass from one area of the exhibit to another through arches or bridges.” ““We have the opportunity to come to understand another culture — one that, like Mormons, have been misunderstood in the United States of America,” explained Stephen Jones, dean of the BYU… Read more »

Saul was quite adamant in his quest to persecute the Christians. He believed firmly he was doing God’s work and his leaders of the day portrayed Christ as a false Messiah. Saul was getting his info from the wrong sources. I can tell by your posts that you not ready to hear a different side of the story and the fact that you would watch the video and come out with “watch out for Mormons” is a clear demonstrator of having ears to hear but not hearing and eyes to see but not seeing. You say you love Mormons and… Read more »

I’m LDS and love the works of C.S. Lewis. Truth is truth and I think we are coming to a place in time that folks will move more and more to one side or the other.

To the “Mormon’s are evil” folks who post here, you might want to consider that it is a time to band together with those who uphold liberty, and the Constitution. It is unfortunate that sniping continues when there is a much greater enemy.
