As you know, I’m proud to live in Texas now. In fact I wish its unofficial motto, “Don’t mess with Texas,” were taken to heart by our commander-in-chief for our entire nation. Not everything that happens in Texas is worth bragging about however. After all, the Holy Land Foundation Islamic terrorist funding trial happened here. It was the largest terrorist funding case in U.S. history and the infamous Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR) was named an unindicted co-conspirator.
Which brings me to this very disturbing story…
As reported by The Hill, “In the 1930’s Hitler used an American PR Agency, and in the last few years, Hamas, Hezbollah and other killers have paid PR and lobbying companies to clean their names and white-wash their violence. This trend continues.”
“Last week, O’Dwyers PR Report, a leading trade magazine, revealed that The Raben Group, a Washington, D.C.-based lobbying and consulting firm owned by Robert Raben, former Assistant Attorney General under President Clinton, has been hired by Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW), a UK-based Muslim charity. This organization with an innocuous-sounding name is believed to be a terrorist organization by the governments of Russia, the United Arab Emirates and Israel. As The Jerusalem Post reported in 2014, Israel believes that “Islamic Relief Worldwide which markets itself as a charitable agency that solicits donations from all over the world, funnels cash to Hamas.”
“Israel’s Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon noted, “[The IRW] is another source of funds for Hamas, and we have no intention of allowing it to operate and assist terrorist activity against Israel. This is another in a series of steps that we are taking against Hamas in Judea and Samaria and the pressure we are applying, the goal of which is to harm the organization’s leadership and rank-and-file as well as its civilian infrastructure. These serve as the foundation from which Hamas operates among the local population.”
Are we getting to the point in America that the bottom line is just about making the dollar — regardless of whom is paying? Where is the due diligence by this PR firm, as it seems this group is not some obscure entity. This all is very disturbing and reminds me of when former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi referred to Hamas as a humanitarian organization — effective PR, huh?
In the Muslim Brotherhood’s strategic explanatory memorandum, written by Mohammed Akhram and discovered in an FBI raid in 2004, a key objective was to bring us down by our own hand. It truly looks like it’s working. Consider the very targeted PR use of the word “Islamophobe” for anyone standing up against Islamic jihadism, stealth or otherwise. Now, for free, my good friend from Louisiana, Greg Mosing, and I came up with a retort — “Islamapologist” — and it didn’t cost anyone a penny. So why is it that an American PR firm, based in our nation’s capitol, would go into contractual agreement with a suspect Islamic charity?
Maybe Robert Raben shares the same sentiments as his former boss, who kindly welcomed a known terrorist named Yasser Arafat into the White House?
We are witnessing a brilliant use of PR by the vile, savage, and barbaric Islamic terrorist group ISIS. And for some reason we don’t have the full support of the private sector internet services to shut them down.
There should be no way possible that any Islamic terror organization should have access to promulgate their despicable actions across the internet. And I know there are some REALLY savvy folks out there who could trace these IP addresses and block them — when shall we?
Regarding IRW, “The Gatestone Institute, a New York based think-tank has previously written that “The large number of links between Islamic Relief Worldwide, and extremist pro-terror groups, suggests that under the cover of a charity with excellent public relations officers lies a structured pro-terror group with an anti-Western agenda.”
Excellent public relations campaigns can whitewash and spin even terror. I guess it’s just as Nazi master propagandist Josef Goebbels stated, “if you tell a lie over and over again, it will eventually become truth.”
But why would we want to assist in the proliferation of these lies? Why is it that Islamic terrorist front groups are going to western PR firms to conduct their spin operations? During the last conflagration between Israel (a recognized nation-state) and Hamas (an Islamic terrorist organization) we presented several instances of Hamas advocating the use of children as human shields — yet resolutions are levied against Israel as committing war crimes? You gotta be kidding me.
The writer of the piece at The Hill shared this interesting assertion, “Richard Edelman, CEO of the world’s largest public relations firm said that “PR is not like the law – Not everyone deserves representation.” I think Edelman is right. I don’t agree with Lord Bell, chairman of Chime Communications, who was quoted in the report as saying, “No amount of media harassment or sensationalism is going to stop me representing clients that have a legitimate right to tell their story.” It’s a declaration of spin – using the term “legitimate right.” There are lines and there are limits – representing terrorist organizations crosses all boundaries.”
Lord Bell is indicative of the cancer that infects western civilization. It is a cancer that has metastasized on our college and university campuses advancing the PR notion that aligning with Islamic terrorists (“Palestinians”) is a cause célèbre. It is this sickness combined with political correctness that makes us believe savages and butchers have a “legitimate right to tell their story.” It is a psychosis that embraces tolerance under the guise of multiculturalism – but that tolerance is a one way street which leads to cultural suicide.
It is a flawed sense of character and lack of integrity that would cause some to prostitute themselves and justify their actions as “noble.”
The actions of Robert Raben and The Raben Group remind me of a very prescient quote attributed to Marcus Tulius Cicero:
“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”
Islamic terrorism needs enablers in order to penetrate western civilization — there are those who are willing.
