Liberal journalist regrets supporting hands up, don’t shoot

It was a mantra built on a lie – so says Washington Post columnist Jonathan Capehart, who now regrets supporting the “hands up, don’t shoot” rallying cry after reading the Department of Justice report.

In his March 16th column, the black liberal journalist wrote, “they have…forced me to deal with two uncomfortable truths: Brown never surrendered with his hands up, and Wilson was justified in shooting Brown.”

Yes, truth is a very uncomfortable thing, and the fact that Capehart is willing to take a principled stand is admirable.

Not surprisingly, his commentary was attacked by some who felt he was pandering to whites. But here on www.allenbwest.com we are all too familiar with those sorts of salvos. The truth is very difficult to bear for those who make a living on falsehoods (Rev. Al, I’m looking at you).

Again to his credit, Capehart said, “We must never allow ourselves to march under the banner of a false narrative. And when we discover that we have, we must acknowledge it, admit our error and keep on marching.”

Indeed, but first how ‘bout ensuring you’re marching in the right direction?

Good on him but waiting for Holder to tell him it was ok diminishes his credibility. This was an obvious lie right up front perpetrated by the race hustlers. Al you listening?

Hoping this opens the floodgates. We gave amnesty to those who evaded service in Vietnam by going to Canada…I suppose we can do the same for journalists who wish to repent their liberal sins. Once again the ‘trust but verify’ phrase comes to mind.

Dealing with uncomfortable truths is something liberals don’t do well. Good for him that he had the balls to say so. And yes of course he will get hacked by his fellow liberal idiots who are now put on the spot to admit the narrative was false, they will call him a sell out, that he hates is own race, that he is now an “Uncle Tom” – all for being honest. Hands up don’t shoot never happened, it is beyond ignorant to keep chanting that bullcrap.

There was plenty on this report that justified the marching and protest. Authorities treated these people like cash cows while denigrating them and fixing tickets for their friends. Idiot doesn’t care about any of this. Well stop marching homeboy sit the hell down. We don’t need you, we wont miss you. You are not the first to sell us out down the river.

Most all states, cities and towns do this sort of stuff to make revenue for their communities etc… They keep people in the system by targeting those who are in trouble a lot or who are normally speeding and so on… It doesn’t matter the race or gender, that’s why some insurance companies have higher rates for age, race, income, credit score and gender. And if anyone was treating these people like “cash cows” was Browns own family who started selling T-shirts and stuff and Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson with their hands out… not up.

Most cities have 16000 warrants for 21000 people? Refuse partial payment of parking tickets only from black people? City raised two mils targeting 21000 persons. How much did Mike Brown mother raised? At least she sold shirts Wilson got paid for just being a killer. No one is forced to buy a T-shirt but everyone has to pay their tickets.

Rena

You have proof that most cities wont take partial payments for parking tickets? What does Brown have to do with that? He committed a crime just before he was shot and killed. It was reported by someone who saw what happened and he fit the description of the offender that Wilson later got after being on a call in that area already. He attacked the officer, not the other way around. Wilson DID NOT stop them at the beginning but told them to get on the sidewalk.. so there goes your theory that he was out to make some money… Read more »

The issue was a white cop gunning down a black man. The report was a classic example of both Nor Sequitor, Red Herring, and Moving the Goal post fallacies. Nice to see that you succumb to classic bait and switch propaganda.

Ms Hickford, you quoted the journalist as saying… “We must never allow ourselves to march under the banner of a false narrative. You sound just like an other confused liberal Allen West hater. You said; “So
when are you and Allen West going to show the same integrity and
apologize and admit that all the stories written on this site about the
administration covering up Benghazi and ordering a stand down were
false?” Where you there? The people who were there said that a stand
down order was given. I find liberals trying everything to protect
Hillary’s run for the presidency… They won’t allow something as
bothersome as the “truth” stand in their way

Brendan
Guest

Well now you sound ridiculous.
The stand down order that was given was given by the local commander.
The Republican led investigation concluded that there was zero evidence that any stand down order came from Washington or anyone in the administration.
Maybe before you lecture others on “the truth” you should check your facts.

From my understanding, they are still investigating Benghazi, and because there is much information still out there and witnesses that have not been questioned yet, there is no positive proof that there wasn’t ordered a stand down. They still have to get Clintons server and hope that they can find more information about that night and perhaps more that the people don’t know about. When I see Trey Gowdy finally say its over then I’ll believe its over.

Brendan

Trey Gowdy was part of the Republican led House Intelligence Committee investigation that concluded there was no stand down order from Washington. They did already conclude no stand down order came from Washington. Republicans running the house have decided to continue the investigation, with Trey Gowdy, to see if anything else can be uncovered… but at this point, the investigation simply seems to be a political maneuver to keep the public skeptical and to make sure a cloud of doubt hangs over Hillary as we approach the next election. the investigation found no cover-up and no stand down order. it… Read more »

Your arrogance is matched only by your ignorance. All that your stupid comment revealed was that you don’t know what your talking about and you never even read the investigation’s report. If this has been settled then why are they still having the hearings and why do they want Hillery’s server? Its not over, as is none of the investigations. Brendan

When you get a chance, please take the time to read the report of the Congressional Investigation I previously linked.
It was proven that there was no stand down order and there was no cover up from the White House.

as to why they’re still investigating… particularly investigating Hillary… i have a theory.
Ask yourself this question…
As we approach the 2016 election, do the Republicans have anything to gain politically by digging through Hillary’s personal files and keeping her under a cloud of suspicion?

I would say that they do.

Rena

I will read your links but to be honest, even the democrats don’t want her or her husband around anymore. It was Valerie Jarrett who let the cat out of the bag about her server and emails… And she certainly isn’t a republican. They are even questioning her actions, such as Dianne Feinstein. I don’t think she really stands a chance because the people are tired of her and her husbands shenanigans. And with the result of the mid terms I think the democrats want someone who is more stable.

I’ve had this discussion a million times and until we learn to take responsibility for our actions our image will not change. Many like to blame racism for the extra scrutiny we get, but the reality is that our criminal element are the biggest contributors to our bad image. During my grandpa’s time crimes committed by blacks was so low in many black communities that it was almost non-existent. Compare it to today…”I’m not saying there is no racism in police departments” but why do we have to contribute to the bad image. If he/she is black or no matter… Read more »

I
say the same thing for Hispanics family members that wont take

And I’ve had this discussion many times before. We are not responsible for anyone’s distorted perception. There is no prerequisite for human dignity. In the time of your granpa police did not have to turn a profit and anyone who wanted to lynch him did not have to hide under the color of authority. No one’s right to set our standard of behavior for us. The extra scrutiny itself is racism if it’s justified by skin color. You can make crime stats say whatever you want. Leonard, what are you basing that assertion on? The DOJ conducted a thorough investigation. None of those accused of using racial profiling to raise municipal revenues or sending racist emails denied doing so or defended their innocence.
