Waa-waa-waa: White House issues threats over Netanyahu invitation

One of my favorite songs by The Who (if you’re asking who? That’s Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, and John Entwhistle) is “Eminence Front.” I love the lyrics from the chorus — “It’s an eminence front, an eminence front, it’s a put on.” Plus the beat and rhythm line is just awesome and Entwhistle bangs it out on the bass. But I digress.

The correlation between this song and current events is the front being put up by the Obama administration regarding the invitation from House Speaker John Boehner to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in March. The pouting from the Obama administration is petulant and unbecoming.

As reported by the New York Post, “Thou shall not cross Dear Leader. With their gutter sniping failing to stop Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s planned March speech before Congress, White House aides are unloading their full arsenal of bile. “He spat in our face publicly, and that’s no way to behave,” one Obama aide told an Israeli newspaper. “Netanyahu ought to remember that President Obama has a year and a half left to his presidency, and that there will be a price.”

“It’s pointless to say petty threats do not become the Oval Office. Trying to instruct this White House on manners recalls what Mark Twain said about trying to teach a pig to sing: It wastes your time and annoys the pig.”

And remember this is the same White House where someone referred to Netanyahu — a former IDF Airborne Commando — as a “[email protected]” That’s professionalism, right?

I also find this empty argument about “protocol” interesting. Just a couple of weeks ago, President Obama stood on stage with U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron who admitted calling our U.S. Senators and lobbying them not to support sanctions against Iran. Now, lets talk about a breach of protocol — why is the leader of a foreign country weighing in on our foreign relations and policies?

You see, this is the reason why Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu is needed to address the American people, because the truth about Iran and the Middle East has to be articulated. We cannot expect our own president or his handpicked accomplice, Mr. Cameron, to protect us from the enemy. Not even 48 hours after Obama’s SOTU address, the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels had overtaken the American-backed government in Yemen — and as we reported last week, while Obama was touting “the shadow of crisis has passed” — there were three U.S. Naval warships standing by to evacuate our U.S. embassy. However, it was Israeli intelligence who informed us and the world, that Iran has developed a new ICBM system.

That’s why Speaker John Boehner invited Netanyahu to address the American people. We need a courageous leader, not someone interested only in campaign promises and political gimmickry.

And to those of you who angrily saying Boehner doesn’t have the right to act unilaterally, are you also angered when Obama unilaterally uses executive orders and presidential memoranda excessively to take actions unconstitutionally?

Are you also angered when Obama releases unlawful enemy combatants back onto the battlefield to once again take up arms against our men and women in uniform — and don’t give me the lame excuse of Bush did it too, it ain’t right. The progressive socialist left’s insidious argument of GITMO being a recruiting tool for the enemy should anger every American.

How is it that Army 1LT Clint Lorance is locked up in prison while Islamic jihadists are set free? And are any of you angry that there’s a “breach of protocol” from the Obama administration preventing the release of the report on the Bowe Bergdahl investigation?

So what is this whole kerfuffle really about? How dare Israel be more concerned with the existential threat of Iranian nukes than with Obama’s feelings? And what do members of Congress think they are, a separate branch of government or something? You know, how dare the legislative branch not acquiesce to the executive branch.

Yes, the office of the president deserves respect — but respect flows both ways — and to this point it has not, and the abject disdain from this administration when it doesn’t get its way is incomprehensible.

We can ill afford to place Obama’s pride and some inane sense of protocol above, as the New York Post puts it, “Iran’s march to nuclear weapons, and Obama’s foolish complicity. His claim at the State of the Union that “we’ve halted the progress of its nuclear program and reduced its stockpile of nuclear material” would be laughable if it weren’t so dangerous. The claim earned him three Pinocchios, with four being an outright whopper, by The Washington Post.”

We need Prime Minister Netanyahu to speak the truth rather than the empty rhetoric we usually get from the White House. And why does the Obama administration want to promulgate this lie, this false narrative — just as it did after the Islamic attack in Benghazi? This time it’s all about trying to have a foreign policy legacy — especially since the complete withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq turned out so brilliantly.

“Even Democrat Senator Robert Menendez, ranking member on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee said, “Obama was repeating talking points that “come straight out of Tehran.” Needless to say, “Outside the president’s yes-men circle, nobody believes the mad mullahs will voluntarily give up their quest for the bomb. International sanctions made life difficult for the regime, especially with oil prices cratering, but Obama relaxed restrictions with nothing to show for it except negotiations where he keeps bidding against himself. He is desperate for a deal, and the Iranians know it, so they want to keep talking. They are gaining concessions and buying time, which means a reversal of their weapons program becomes much harder to achieve.”

Right now we shouldn’t care about protocol or hurt feelings. We need a former airborne commando who lives in a country surrounded by enemies wishing for its destruction to address us — instead of a community organizer who places his personal sentiments over that of a nation — hardly the leadership value of “selfless service.”

So I hope I’ve made it clear why America, and indeed the world, needs Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu to speak to the American people from the People’s House in March. And for anyone who refuses to get it, you’re cheering for a person, not your own country. There’s a big difference.

So thankful for our founding father’s wisdom in creating checks and balances for our government. We elected a president who is failing to uphold his commitment of doing everything possible to keep our country safe. So, the people elected a new congress who will do it. And they are now doing their job by inviting an ally in this terror fight. I think Bibi should visit regularly until Obama is out of office.

It is striking the petulance of this “president”. Oh sure, friendship “treaties” with India, (which will do wonders with our relations with Pakistan) are cute and all, but when the chips are down, I hope India understands that obama will not be there. He’s all fluff and no substance…except when it comes to aiding our enemies abroad. I hereby offer Prime Minister Netanyahu an invitation to come speak before my family and I, anytime he wants. 🙂

Obama is such a forigen policy lightweight it boggles the mind.

Any deal with Iran will de facto be allowing mid east nuclear latency. In a region of the world that has the political stability of nitroglycerin. That he cant percieve the political, financial and military outcome of that, speaks volumes on his ability to lead and on his advisory staff.

Obamas forigen policy legacy will be one of the worst in recorded history. If not the worst.

He’s a domestic policy lightweight as well.

Im not sure its him being a lightweight or has always had a plan of this action. He has never seemed to me to be for America and our constitution. He has always seemed to be a puppet of a much bigger operation.

Earl, wake up to reality… Obama hasn’t don’t crap for anyone… heck just watch some of those videos of the rioters when they are asked about Obama… they all say it plain as day… He hasn’t done @#!^ for anyone, especially them… Have a good night.

Funny thing about that though… those “millions” who now have it, got it at the expense of others who work while most of them sit on their hind doing nothing. Not to mention that those millions will soon be paying for it… Obama has done nothing but cause destruction in this country… he is no leader… Why don’t you go bow down to your king… he won’t be in office much longer (hopefully) you’ll be in perfect position for real Americans to kick your where it counts…

Tell me, once again, about the shovel ready jobs of his first term?????? Tell me about the thousands of coal miners and ancillary businesses and their employees that have no jobs. And don’t forget the businesses that have had to close because of the cost of the Affordable Care Act, or doctors or nurses, and medical facility employees that have no work. And tell me how the day the man took the oath….republicans VOWED not to pass ANYTHING! Thanks for playing!!!

Paus

You changed the subject. Typical. The Republicans had over 370 bills or laws sitting in Harry Reid’s office waiting for the Democratically controlled Senate to even bring up the subject. I don’t think that indicates the Republicans weren’t willing to get anything passed. And you still haven’t explained about how he helped all those newly unemployed American workers. Your lack of participation in your own game invalidates your comments.

Uncle Ruckus

Changed the subject???? When u have a part the refuse to do anything but obstruct and pass symbolic bills…..doing absolutely nothing for the American people…..you can’t blame the man for trying to get something done for the American people

Paus

You still haven’t explained how he has helped the thousands of unemployed workers he created. There is a saying that goes around that says “Because I choose to walk away does not mean you are right. It means I refuse to continue to deal with stupidity.” Since you don’t want to, or can’t, provide an explanation, twice, I now walk away.

Uncle Ruckus

OH…you mean those unemployed workers that republicans refused to help with a unemployment extension??

Paus

Along with Chas’ comment. Forcing businesses to reduce the number of hours considered full time so they don’t have to pay the exorbitant rates for the ACA created jobs. Those are part time jobs created by people vacating them in search of full time employment. That is not job creation. Jobs creation are positions where someone can afford to keep their homes and keep their families fed and clothed.

Chas

Forcing people, who previously held full-time jobs, to work at part-time jobs because of Obozocare, is not job growth. It is decline. Flippin’ idiot. That avatar really you? Sad but very possible. If Iran had nuke technology now and built weapons now, but used them the day after the 2016 GOP Presidential inauguration the MSM would castigate the GOP as being 100% responsible and culpable.

If Obama had grown up with a father he might have learned the lesson that you can’t appease a bully. Words only get you more grief. A solid punch in the nose followed by a kick when he’s on the ground will make any bully avoid you for the rest of his life. That is a lesson that not only has Obama not learned, he isn’t even aware of it.

I guess the change part of “hope and change” was to transform Neville Chamberlin’s legacy into our guiding principles of our foreign policy.

He and his advisors do behave like juveniles. The most recent idiotic idea was for Obama to make a video, while on Air Force One, suggesting turning vast amounts of Alaska into a National Wildlife Refuge to block oil production there. How could Obama or any of his advisors not see how hypocritical it is to push an “anti fossil fuel agenda” while flying around on Air Force One? Air Force One holds 53,600 gallons of fuel and can produce more CO2 in 10 minutes of idle speed than 100 cars can in a year. Just the fact that they… Read more »

Obama constantly says “let me be perfectly clear.” Well, he’s made it perfectly clear that he hates Netanyahu, he hates Israel and supports those who refuse to acknowledge Israel’s right to exist. We’ve had 6 years of Obama behaving rudely towards Netanyahu and Israel.

Nannette McGowan

Isn’t it obvious that the Obama administration only wants one side of the debate to be discussed by Congress and pretending this is a breach of protocol is only a means to try to thwart both sides of the issue being discussed. Since when did the President have to give permission for Congress to invite anyone to come speak before them? We elected our members of Congress. Congress isn’t appointed by Obama to represent him, they are elected to represent their constituents.

If people believe that Muslim maniac fanatic deranged suicide bombers armed with plastic explosive devices strapped under their cloths is bad, just wait until Iran supplies hundreds of Iranian manufactured truck sized or car trunk sized or suitcase sized nuclear bombs, cleverly hidden, perhaps even small neutron bombs, to Muslim fanatic suicide nuclear bombers inside an American city near you, not to mention the 75+ mile radius of nuclear radioactive dust and ash fallout in the suburbs and farming communities outside those high population density congested cities on a busy weekday.

I would rather have Netanyahu as our leader than Obama. God bless this man of Israel who stands for justice and protects his people, when Obama won’t do nothing to protect us Americans. Obama didn’t care how he dismantled our Constitution, yet he wants to silence a man of God who speaks the truth. I’m sure Netanyahu will enlighten many about Iran. Obama acts as if there were no Legislative Branch, it’s about time they act as if there’s no executive branch. The Legislative Branch has the power to declare war (Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution) so why shouldn’t they deal directly with Bibi. The Legislative Branch has the responsibility to “establish a uniform Rule of Naturalization”, not the president. The president continues to violate his oath of office. Too bad Bibi wasn’t born in the US.

The real power in the White House is Valerie Jarrett, born in Iran, the daughter of two members of the Iranian Communist Party. She calls the shots, Obama does her bidding. Why would she want Netanyahu coming to the US to speak to Congress on Iran telling America what our White House and mainstream media doesn’t want us to know? The White House will be doing a major smear job on Netanyahu and Boehner because they didn’t like Boehner inviting him and they want to punish them, smear Netanyahu to make his speech less relevant with low information voters….

Boehner claims that he did tell the White House hours before the public was told about the visit. Somebody is lying about the visit and I think its Obama. A Iranian newspaper printed that they want both of Netanyahu’s adult sons killed in retaliation for Israel attacking and blowing up some terrorists.
