After Cuba, is Iran next?

As we draw to the end of 2014, there’s just no end to the stories that amaze me — and should concern you. Without any consultation with Congress, President Obama decided he would open up diplomatic relations with Cuba, including potentially establishing an embassy. Well, that unilateral declaration couldn’t be outdone, right? Why stop at Cuba? Let’s do the same in, well, where else do we have “friends in high places?” Why, Iran of course!

As reported by Politico, “President Barack Obama isn’t ruling out possible diplomatic relations with Iran, he said in a lengthy interview with NPR published Monday. “I never say never, but I think these things have to go in steps,” Obama said when asked about the possibility of eventually opening a U.S. Embassy in Tehran, after his recent action on Cuba.”

“The president, echoing remarks he’s made in the past, said if a nuclear deal with Iran were reached it “would serve as the basis for us trying to improve relations over time.” Obama sat down last week with host Steve Inskeep of NPR, which will air the interview in three parts over the next few days on “Morning Edition.”

Ok, let me offer my response if I’d been asked the same question: No. Iran is the number one state sponsor of Islamic terrorism in the world. They were behind the 1983 Beirut bombing and also have supplied the deadly EFPs (Explosive Force Penetrators) to the battlefield to be used in IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices) that have wrought much death and injury on our men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan. The mad mullahs and crazed clerics of Iran currently hold several Americans hostage — prisoners — in their infamous system, and the Obama administration has done nothing.

Oh, and by the way, those reasonable folks in Iran just hanged seven people on Christmas morning, and at least 12 others in the days before and after the holiday. And this came just days after Obama said Iran could be a “successful” member of the international community – I wonder how he’s measuring that success?

It will be interesting to see the reaction of President Obama when the incoming GOP Senate majority votes and approves restoration of sanctions against Iran. Reports are that the Obama administration has been on Capitol Hill to lobby against sanctions — why?

We reported here that Cuba’s President Raul Castro clearly stated that nothing will change for Cuba — it will remain a communist country. So what does the United States of America get in return for all this opening of diplomatic relations with our enemies? Perhaps someone should remind President Obama about the last time we had an embassy in Iran — he could sit with Ben Affleck and watch the movie “Argo.”

The Iranians are purposefully stalling on the nuclear negotiations front and continue to enrich uranium and their almost 10,000 centrifuges continue to spin. And just this past week they announced the development of a “suicide drone” — one can only imagine the intended target. It’s my assessment that Obama will relent on any adverse measures against Iran since they are taking a lead in Iraq in the fight against ISIS — and we know Obama doesn’t want to reengage there. Heck, we’ve just conducted another retrograde operation in Afghanistan — I don’t think the Taliban got the email about combat operations being over.

As a policy, Obama stating that he is not ruling our diplomatic relations with Iran further sends a message of weakness and acquiescence to the Islamist regime in Tehran. The words only serve to embolden them — as well as other state and non-state belligerents across the globe, and it must further confuse our ally in the region, Israel.

You just have to ask yourself — why are we considering opening embassies in Cuba and Tehran when we can’t decide to move the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem? Talk about sending a clear message in the Middle East.

What are your thoughts, should we consider opening up diplomatic relations with Iran? And who do you believe is also on Obama’s list of naughty but treated as nice?

Mr. President, maybe, just maybe, you should visit the Beirut Bombing Memorial to the 241 American servicemen—238 Marines and Sailors of the 24th Marine Amphibious Unit (MAU), and three Soldiers—killed on October 23, 1983. You should stand there and ponder the words you recently uttered during the NPR interview. And perhaps you should visit those who lost their loved ones on that fateful day — and ask them, should America open up diplomatic relations with Iran? Or maybe you’ll one day find the time to call the wife and children of American Pastor Saeed Abedini who is held by the Iranians — ask her.

Regardless, most of this country doesn’t believe we should be sitting down with the Ayatollahs — and we realize that you’ve had several communications exchanges with them. Why?

You people have no understanding of diplomatic relations do you?

Some of our closest trading partners include China, world leader in government-sanctioned atrocities, Saudi Arabia, king of terror sponsors, and Russia, Earth’s biggest troll.

Our Cuban strategy is a half century out of date, and Iran is one of the fastest growing economies in the world, notwithstanding their draconian capital punishment (instigated by their post-Revolution government, which only exists because of an oil-fueled myopic coup d’etat delivered by none other than the CIA and BP).

Good call on that. You can also see Obama’s hand is white in the doctored photo.

So easy to find all the fake photos using Google’s image search where you search using the actual picture. I suspect Mr. West had some holiday part-time staffers harvesting pictures from somewhere.

Very much hoping that no one at Mr. West’s office had anything to do with that.

If there’s a US embassy in Riyadh, there’s no good reason why there shouldn’t be one in Tehran.

Except that it will cost American lives. Perhaps you would volunteer?

My point was that Iran and Saudi Arabia are both sponsors. I’m not American and, having seen what your president and s-of-s let happen in Benghazi, I wouldn’t volunteer for any diplomatic delegation even if I were eligible.

I am American and under this POS president I wouldn’t either…

You have to bear in mind that it was Clinton who gave the Pakistanis enrichment technology; they in turn gave it to Iran. So there is a history here of Dems attracting dollars by any and all means possible. One thing is certain, they cannot get them from mainstream or establishment America.

Their whole theory of life is if everyone has the same things we will all get along and be better. Welfare and everything they do is based on equality of all you or I have as long as it is the same.

I’m waiting for the President and all the elites to share there millions and billions. That will never happen. The only thing that will happen the poor will be poor and the rich will be rich and someday there will be no middle class.

Lynnz

When is Obama going to start sharing his millions and his rich cronies millions ?? I’m waiting on that !!! Lmao… The rich are going to stay rich and the poor are going to stay poor. That will never change.

Yeah, that Utopia thing seems to be working so well for 95% of the 8 Billion people worldwide.

This is driven by either ego or stupidity. O and his followers truly believe that if we just let these people do their own thing and give them what they want they will change into upstanding citizens, they have the same theory with criminals and illegall aliens. This is the same theory that the UN stands with when you look to their using terrorism as a way to get food and water or supplies.

The Cuba situation is clearly a pro-active move to prevent Russian nukes from being stationed there… Which, to me, signals another pending push to further degrade Russian economy. With gas prices about to hit rock bottom (completely crushing Russian petro trade) the next move, logically, would be for a retaliation gesture by Russia – I.E. getting back in with the Castro clique to provide a first strike jump off for Russian missiles. Obama may not be a popular president, but he isn’t stupid, and is FULLY aware of what he is doing, no doubt…..That being said, the situation with Iran… Read more »

You’ve pretty much nailed it.

While Obama cheered the ‘Arab Spring” among nations working with the US, he delayed a comment then barely touched on the Green Revolution in Iran. And with Iran he had *video* of Neda Agha Soltan being murdered by government to help him push for freedom there, too. He didn’t take that opportunity.

The list of his undermining those working with the US and enabling our enemies is along one. In fact, I believe it 100% consistent.

The sad fact is that Obama is a traitor who is looking to harm the US and help our enemies.
