Deportations down, illegal border crossings up. Anyone surprised?

During a recent interview on Univision, President Obama was referred to by the interviewer as the “Deporter-in-Chief.” Of course we’ve discussed here that the Obama administration has counted turning illegals back at the border as a “deportation” — which is just another example of the “Lucy and the football” routine of this administration.

And now we have to contend with an unlawful executive action that uses the so-called “prosecutorial discretion” — down South we call it “cherry picking” — of a president who believes in selective enforcement of laws based on his political objectives and ideology.

But Deporter-in-Chief? Hardly.

Our good friends over at Judicial Watch, under the stalwart leadership of Tom Fitton, continue to shine the light on this administration. As they report, “While Islamic terrorists exploit the Mexican border to enter the United States as they please, the latest Homeland Security figures show a drastic decline in deportations — especially among illegal immigrants with criminal records –as the number of people caught crossing illegally rose.”

“Obtained from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) this month by a mainstream newspaper, the figures reveal that President Obama deported fewer illegal aliens in the last year than at any time during his tenure. This despite the fact that federal agents caught nearly half a million people trying to cross into the U.S. in the fiscal year ending in September. “An even bigger decline came in the numbers of people removed after living for some time in the U.S., mostly after being ensnared in the criminal justice system,” the newspaper reports.”

It’s very difficult for average Americans to know when the truth is being told. And when it comes to this issue of illegal immigration, truth is necessary in order to discern the way forward. I did find it interesting that President Obama was attempting to use Mary and Joseph metaphors for illegal immigration — Joseph was returning to his familial hometown for the census. So what exactly has been going on with the Obama administration and deportations?

“The new ICE report says federal agents removed 315,943 last year, a 14 percent drop from the previous year. The administration went even easier on illegal aliens with criminal records, removing only 102,000, a 23 percent drop from 2013 and fewer than half the number of people deported in 2011. Only two-thirds of the illegal immigrants caught at the border were sent back, marking a 9 percent decline from the previous year.”

And of course we know tens of thousands of illegals entered this past summer only to be covertly dispersed across the country — at taxpayer expense.

Judicial Watch reported earlier this week regarding the case of an al-Qaida terrorist on the FBI’s most wanted list who for years crossed back and forth into the United States from Mexico. “The jihadist, Adnan G. El Shukrijumah (also known as “Javier Robles”), met with fellow militant Islamists in El Paso Texas, according to JW’s law enforcement sources, and even piloted an aircraft into the Cielo Dorado airfield in Anthony, New Mexico earlier this year.”

Shukrijumah is the poster child for the need to secure the perpetually porous southern border. However, he was reportedly killed in Pakistan, so I guess he’s not coming back.

Ladies and gents, we have a serious problem with our border security and this is not about keeping illegal families intact. It’s about whether or not we are a sovereign nation under the rule of law.

Our economy isn’t stable enough to absorb millions of low-income illegals. However, it seems the Obama administration is moving forward with preparing the necessary government agencies to support providing documents to these illegals.

And with the “cromnibus” spending monster passed last night, the funding of a bloated federal government marches on.

Obama’s “amnesty” is a win for Democrats and illegal immigrants, for Americans looking for a job, taxpayers, schools and our overloaded welfare system, it’s a kick in the teeth…

Change will not come at the government level. Change will only come from within our society. Citizens need to be informed and educated by those who already are. We can’t expect those we send to Washington to be “leaders”. It is “we” who need to lead. Doesn’t hurt to spend a few minutes explaining a few things to a friend or loved one and then asking them to share what you’ve told them with somebody else.

Letting foreigners come in to our country to stay with no questions asked hurts everyone, including them.

I see the “KIDS” are coming home!!!!!!!!!! The fence needs repairs.

Well all I can say, we had better scope out a cave on a mountain and learn how to live off the land. Because with the blind leading the blind in DC it isn’t going to get any better.

Strangely enough, the parallels between our country at the brink and the Roman Empire prior to its fall are amazing. In Rome, outsourcing of grain production to other countries, involvement in “little” wars, skirmishes throughout Europe, similar internal political problems, a literal invasion of peoples from other regions, the Visigoths, Vandals, etc. brought chaos. Of course, our biggest problem is us. We have learned as a nation how to vote ourselves largesse from the public coffers and in turn, the politicians have been only to happy to oblige by buying those votes with taxpayer monies. It seems that we have… Read more »
