Hey Sen. Feinstein, If we’re so concerned about rights of enemy combatants, why don’t we just stop fighting?

One of the frustrating aspects of our conflagration against Islamo-Fascism, Islamic terrorism and jihadism is that it appears the U.S. actually suffers from a sort of “Stockholm Syndrome” where we embrace the belief that we are to be blamed for Americans being beheaded.

There must be responsible for some deep seated grievances which cause terrorists to hate us. And some folks – including a particular woman who’d like to be Commander-in-Chief — feels we need to respect these enemies and “empathize” with their perspectives.

As a result, we are on the verge of having Senate Intelligence Chairman Dianne Feinstein release a report that divulges American tactics, techniques, and procedures on enhanced interrogation techniques.

Furthermore, this 6,000-page report will detail the actions of our supposed allies in support of the Clinton-era process called rendition. I just have to ask why?

Why are we so concerned about pouring water down someone’s mouth — understanding that our own Special Operators undergo similar training at Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape (SERE) — heck, Demi Moore was water boarded in the movie “GI Jane” — she turned out ok (I guess). What’s wrong with playing music a little loud? Most of our teenagers do the same thing and if you’ve driven around South Florida in the summer you hear the same thing. And sleep deprivation? Doggone, I remember being in Iraq as a commander and going nearly 36 hours without shutting my eyes during constant operations. But if we keep a terrorist awake, that’s a violation of his human rights?

Yep, I fired my 9mm service weapon over the head of a fella and was taken out of command and was NEVER forced to retire or resign. My wife Angela and I made the decision to retire, and I received an Honorable Discharge. And I would do the same again — which I believe those CIA officers who we entrust with keeping us safe would as well.

Is Senator Feinstein doing her last parting shot at George W. Bush and Republicans before she hands over the gavel as Senate Intelligence Committee Chair? Or perhaps she’s angry with the CIA spying on the Senate and her? Is that what this is, just politically driven, or maybe even personal? Are we about to put the lives of our men and women in danger just for some “brownie points?”

As Fox puts it, “The White House on Monday backed the release of a long-anticipated report on the CIA’s interrogation techniques, despite warnings from within the administration and from lawmakers that it could lead to a backlash against Americans around the world. Press Secretary Josh Earnest said the administration has been preparing “for months” for the report’s release, which is expected late Tuesday morning. “There are some indications … that the release of the report could lead to a greater risk that is posed to U.S. facilities and individuals all around the world,” Earnest acknowledged. “So, the administration has taken the prudent steps to ensure that the proper security precautions are in place at U.S. facilities around the globe.” Earnest said the administration still “strongly supports the release of this declassified summary of the report.” Nevertheless, Secretary of State John Kerry last week asked the Senate Intelligence Committee to “consider” the timing of the release.”

Well, with Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber heading to Capitol Hill on Tuesday — methinks the Obama administration has completely considered the timing of the release of this report! There’s nothing like a little deception and misdirection to change the news cycle.

If we are so very concerned with the rights and feelings of these unlawful enemy combatants, I recommend we just stop fighting. Why? Because the folks we send out on the front lines are going to get damn tired of being sold out.

We release these savages to Uruguay while they behead our citizens. We castigate our intelligence agents in a negative light — or we abandon some to die in far away lands and create false narratives to hide the complicity and guilt.

We institute restrictive rules of engagement on our warriors providing the enemy every advantage of the initiative. We hang our allies out to dry, such as the doctor who fingered Osama bin Laden who now sits in a jail — we suppose he is still alive. We “out” allies or secretly discuss sanctions against them while lobbying to keep sanctions from returning against our enemy, Iran.

So let’s just raise the white flag and tell them we surrender instead of this slow death by a thousand cuts. The New York Times ran front-page stories on Abu Ghraib for how long? Yet, you’d have to struggle to find out how many front page stories ran on the vicious beheadings of Americans by ISIS — oops, sorry, the jayvee team.

Fox says, “the administration’s stance on the release of the report was criticized by GOP Sen. Richard Burr, the prospective new chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee. Burr, R-N.C., said that Kerry’s request that the report be delayed doesn’t jibe with Earnest’s comments. “It’s dumbfounding they can call and ask for it to be delayed and then say they want it out. You can’t have it both ways,” Burr told Fox News.”

“House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich., said America’s allies are predicting “this will cause violence and deaths.” He said U.S. intelligence agencies and foreign governments have said privately that the release of the Senate intelligence panel report on CIA interrogations a decade ago will be used by extremists to incite violence that is likely to cost lives. “I think this is a terrible idea,” Rogers said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “Foreign leaders have approached the government and said, ‘You do this, this will cause violence and deaths.’ Our own intelligence community has assessed that this will cause violence and deaths.”

I guess Sen. Feinstein just wants to make new friends. Clearly she knew about all of this many years ago, so why is it now so important to have a revelation of transparency? Simply put, there are those who just blame America first and putting other’s lives at risk means nothing to them. Sadly, these are the folks who somehow have been voted to positions of responsibility in our country — even as they act irresponsibly.

  1. When are we going to face the fact that you can’t believe anything this admin says, such as having prepared for months for this event. Sure they have, just like Bengazi. As far as Witch Feintein wanting it released, I’ll bet the power behind this admin told her to do it. Nothing is as it seems in this government.

    • This puts the lives of every VOLUNTEER sailor, soldier and military person we have around the world and at home in danger. The stupidity of some of our elected officials is mind-boggling. We have sailors who can’t go on liberty in Turkey without getting beat up, the United States is the greatest force for good in the world today and we have idiots like Feinstein who should have been retired years ago, releasing information that should never be public knowlege.

    • So true, usaok59. Instead of looking at the deceptions of the Democrats and this Obama administration, first ask, “Exactly what is the motivation behind this?” Since the Democrats are opposed to transparency, understanding the motivation will lead you to the hidden truth.

  2. Col West. You are an obviously very insightful man. Why release this now? Ever since Obama has been in office, when something starts smelling in the administration, they always find something to deflect the minds of American citizens. This is obviously a very calculated move. Right at the time so many other pressing issues need to be resolved. Why is the question, not the fact they are even contemplating doing such an obvious in your face move.

    • Next month Feinstein well be loosing a great deal of her power when the Republicans take control of the Senate. She and the other Democrats are stirring up as much trouble as they can to keep the ‘New Republican Leadership’ chasing after the fires the Democrats are leaving behind, so the Republicans will be delayed in making changes quickly. Do you remember when GW Bush took over at the White House, and the out going White House staff had glued the drawers shut? That just goes to show how ‘Bad Sports’ the Democrats are when they loose the power.

      • Yes, they ruined a lot that they did not steal outright. To think his wife has a chance of getting elected in 2016. This country is officially over if that happens.

  3. I would expect your response since u don’t believe and violated the UCMJ and was relieved of command! You are a disgrace to the uniform

    • And her intentions were to save the release until the exact time of Jonathan Gruber’s testimony in a House hearing on the ACA. It started out with Rahm Emanuel saying, “Never let a crisis go to waste.” Today shows that if you don’t have a crisis, manufacture one as a distraction. Everyone knows this is why Feinstein and the Democrats dug up this 10 year old issue.

      • Keep in mind, six years into OhBummer’s term and most likely until the day he leaves office, this report was created by Democrats to further bash George W. Bush and deflect attention from a plethora of screw-ups, scandals, coverups and failures of Obama, while pretending to be “The Most Transparent Administration Ever/In History”.

  4. Forget scaring the enemy combatants with a little water to make them talk. Just blow them up, along with innocent people, with drone strikes. Liberal logic at its best!

  5. Liberalism (the ‘new’ meaning of it anyway) is an obvious mental disorder. These nuts should be in an insane asylum rather than ruining our country.

    • I wish they would lock her up! Melt the key and give her a soap box at the nut house… Or is that what they call the Capital now?

  6. Is due attention being given the upcoming future 2016 election? Want a change? It is really, really easy to understand. Without this side’s best, you’re in trouble period.

In order to avoid the mediocrity that will invariably be brought forward, support AmericaIdea for the only GOP 2016 Dream Candidate. Or enjoy failure!?
