Suspect arrested in UAE over bathroom stabbing [VIDEO]

There are many Americans living in the Middle East who work in the economic, energy, security sectors and even as teachers. With the rise of ISIS and its call for individual jihadist attacks, those expatriates must be even more vigilant and “situationally aware” of their surroundings. Sadly, we already have a fatal example.

As reported by Fox News, “The United Arab Emirates’ interior minister said Thursday that police have arrested a female suspect in the killing of an American schoolteacher in an upscale Abu Dhabi mall. After carrying out the murder at the Boutik Mall on the capital’s Reem Island, the attacker also left a makeshift bomb at the house of a 46-year-old Egyptian-American doctor in the prominent waterfront Corniche area, authorities revealed.”

“One of the doctor’s sons discovered the device as he headed out for sunset prayers at a local mosque, and police were able to dismantle it before it could cause any damage, Interior Minister Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan said. The bomb, which authorities described as primitive, included small gas cylinders, a lighter, glue and nails.”

For those of you who missed it, an American kindergarten teacher named Ibolya Ryan, 47, the mother of 11-year-old twin boys, was stabbed to death by a woman clad in the traditional full black veiled garb familiar in the Middle East in a women’s bathroom.

And now it appears the suspect arrested is part of a bigger female jihadist cell. Of course in America, this would be referred to as a woman-caused disaster of bathroom violence.

However, what is somewhat disturbing is that according to Fox, “ the stabbing comes on the heels of a security warning from the U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi in late October, advising Americans of a “recent anonymous posting on a Jihadist website that encouraged attacks against teachers at American and other international schools in the Middle East. “The Mission is unaware of any specific, credible threat against any American or other school or individual in the United Arab Emirates (UAE),” the warning reads. “Nonetheless, the Mission is working with local schools identified with the United States to review their security posture.” On Wednesday, the embassy said it a statement that it is “working with all the appropriate authorities to seek further information” about the killing and advised Americans to keep a low profile while traveling in public.”

“Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is also deputy prime minister, said the attacker targeted her victims based on their nationality alone in an attempt to create chaos and terrorize the country. He called the stabbing a crime that is “alien to our secure country.” “The victim of this brutal crime was a schoolteacher who was committed to building strong future generations,” he told reporters.”

We know the UAE has been a stalwart supporter against Islamic terrorism and I believe (hope) they will conduct a full systemic investigation to purge any jihadist cells operating in their country.

Ms. Ryan was Hungarian, born in Romania, and later became an American citizen. She trained in the U.S. as a teacher before being assigned to the United Arab Emirates in September 2013. She is divorced, so her sons’ father traveled to Abu Dhabi to retrieve the two boys.

The suspect’s apprehension was aided by security video, which tracked her entering the Boutik Mall and her exit. The lesson learned is that we must begin to take the threats being promulgated by Islamic jihadists on social media very seriously. We cannot continue to dismiss this enemy under the ruse of political correctness — resulting in the slow drip death of Americans and others.

The reality of Islamic terrorists and terrorism must become our own. We do not need to offer this enemy our regards, or attempt to empathize and understand their perspective. Yes, I do respect my enemy – as far as their capability, capacity, and objectives. They don’t understand “soft power.” The only respect and regard strength and might — and when we fail to exhibit it, well, a kindergarten teacher and mother of twin boys loses her life.

I have a relative who is one of the American teachers working for ADECO in Abu Dhabi. When I questioned her decision to go there in light of it being a Muslim country, she was very hostile and called me a racist, claiming that the UAE is very Western and there is absolutely no danger to Americans there. One of the first pics she posted of herself on Facebook after arriving in Abu Dhabi had her wearing a hijab. I wonder if she still feels so safe there. My condolences to Ms. Ryan and her family. A witness claimed the… Read more »

American/Western women have to be very careful going into these countries to work. The increase in pay is pushed and the risks are downplayed. Obviously men have a completely different experience than women and this also depends on the industry and your sponsorship. Understanding sharia and knowing how to read and speak Arabic are essential BEFORE you go. Unfortunately many westerners go to these jobs not realizing that they have become essentially indentured slaves. Never take a job where you relinquish control over your passport. The services industries are the lower world there, they have little to no protection. The… Read more »

Frankly, I knew as soon as I heard she was going there that she would not be safe. But, of course, being a leftie and an apologist for the “peaceful religion of Islam” she was pretty nasty to anyone who pointed out the potential danger. Well, OK, now even the American government says it isn’t safe. I wonder if she’ll stay. Probably.

I wish her well and hope it all turns out good for her. She has to be careful who she’s around because although some locals may seem like friends, they really aren’t and they can’t be trusted.

How soon will it be before this happens at a mall in the US? Or Canada? I think its inevitable.

wow… so not only can’t you follow a simple conversation… but you also imagine what people say.
I have never defended or justified the action of any barbarian jihadist.

Yet, you’re on West’s site to sow discord, why?

Discord?
This is a comments section… not a ditto section.
Not all comments are going to agree.

It’s not disagreement or an honest discussion you go to West’s site for, it’s as though you’re a paid Soros troll.

Brendan

Einstein was a physicist not a mental health professional.
he had no theory regarding sanity.

You just made yourself look ridiculously stupid.

“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” – Albert Einstein

Idiot.

Brendan

Wow you are retarded.
You think a quote from Einstein about insanity was Einstein’s theory?
You are truly stupid.
If Einstein preferred soup over sandwiches, do you think that was “Einstein’s theory of lunch?”
