So much for air strikes: ISIS continues deadly rampage in Iraq mass killing

This evening I’ll be speaking on the campus of Cornell University where the topic will be current issues regarding our national security and foreign policy involving the rise of ISIS and the growing tensions with Russia.

Have you noticed ISIS has somewhat fallen off the radar screen in the news media – even though the Department of Homeland Security has issued a security warning for Islamic terrorist attacks on U.S. soil? Regardless, ISIS continues its march and having its way in Iraq.

As reported by Fox News, “Islamic State group militants lined up 30 men in western Iraq and shot them dead Wednesday, an official and residents said, the latest mass killing carried out by the group since its advance across the country. The slayings, on a main street in the al-Bakir district in the town of Hit, targeted Sunnis tribal fighters allied with the government and members of the security forces that the extremists captured when they overran the town, the official and the residents said. The militants first paraded the men through town, shouting through loudspeakers that the captured men were apostates who fought against them, residents said. The extremists — read Islamic terrorists — then lined up the men and shot them dead with assault rifles, residents said.”

We must not forget the brutality of Al Zarqawi, the leader of al-Qaida in Iraq, which led to the Sunni tribesmen awakening to ousting them from western Al Anbar province. This massacre is tragically reminiscent of the Viet Cong’s actions in places like Hue City and the violence of Pol Pot’s Khymer Rouge. Yes, I know, who cares about history and all that boring stuff, right? Well, those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it — and so it seems we have.

Fox says, “Anbar provincial council chairman Sabah Karhout said those killed were captured when the Islamic State group overran the town, located about 85 miles west of Baghdad, earlier this month. Karhout called the slayings “a crime against humanity” and demanded more international support for the Sunni tribes fighting the militants in Anbar. Iraq is in its worst crisis since the 2011 withdrawal of U.S. troops as Sunni militant groups led by the al-Qaida breakaway Islamic State group have seized a third of the country.”

I am beyond perplexed by President B. Hussein Obama’s hypocrisy in deploying American troops to the Ebola “hot zone” but refusing to deploy troops to fight against ISIS. It’s difficult to not get the feeling Obama supports the goals and objectives of ISIS.

Don’t forget, Obama unilaterally made the decision to deploy American resources to support slamist forces in Libya over a “humanitarian crisis” — so how does he classify the actions of ISIS? This inconsistency in foreign policy has our allies completely confounded as it defies all logic and reason — but it makes perfect political sense I suppose.

Our response? U.S. Central Command said the coalition launched six airstrikes in Iraq over Tuesday and Wednesday using jet fighters and drones, hitting targets near Fallujah and Sinjar. Six airstrikes over two days — again, hardly a convincing display of air power, especially when ISIS continues offensive operations to include the massacre in the town of Hit — which somehow they overran. This is what emboldens our enemies, such as Vladimir Putin, who has upped his ante and rhetoric realizing we are on the verge of having a true “lame duck” President.

How has ISIS responded? Fox reports, “In Iraq and along with areas in eastern Syria, the militants have declared a self-styled caliphate and imposed their own harsh interpretation of Shariah law. They also have targeted the country’s religious minorities, including Christians and others, killing hundreds and forcing hundreds of thousands to leave their homes.”

Of grave concern is ISIS’s ability to launch a global social media campaign promoting jihadist attacks in the West — which just last week we witnessed in Canada and New York City. The ISIS recruitment continues to thrive and poses a profound threat to western civilization and our fundamental concept of individual liberty.

And although it is inconceivable that ISIS has the requisite combat power to overtake Baghdad, the group is implementing the usual terrorist tactics. Fox says, “On Wednesday Iraqi police said a roadside bomb exploded near an Iraqi army patrol in a town just south of Baghdad, killing three soldiers and wounding seven. A later bomb blast on a commercial street in Baghdad’s eastern district of Ur killed two people and wounded eight, police said. Wednesday night, a suicide bomber drove his bomb-laden car into a police checkpoint in the town of Youssifiyah, just south of Baghdad, killing five police officers and wounding 18 people, including some civilians, officials said.”

Again, President Obama said his policies were on the ballot this election cycle – which means the dangerously intransigent political decision to completely withdraw our troops from Iraq creating a vacuum filled by ISIS, and the resulting beheadings of Americans, is on the ballot. It is a time for choosing — and that means a strategic national security and foreign policy that restores our standing and regard.

I’m thrilled to see that someone feels the same way I do. I believe he is & always was a Muslim. His heart is with Islam, not with Christianity as he speaks. The liar in chief !!

We would still have another ally in the middle east/north africa, if Qaddafi was still ruling Libya. Obama tried to give up Egypt to the Muslim Brotherhood and luckily the Egyptian people had more sense than Obama and our hapless State Department. For some reason, Obama and our State Department want to undermine Netanyahu in Israel and help Hamas re-build its tunnels under Israel. Let’s see now, what else? Oh, our feminized State Department wants to bring Ebola to our shores with a massive airlift of infected foreign medical personnel who just happen to get the disease while helping victims… Read more »

Wrong response punk. Your POS POTUS left Iraq and here is the result. Barry Hussein loves Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood and now ISIS. He funded the first two and has decided to let the last one do as they please. The Ape-In-Chief went on his infamous apology tour to ME nations in 2009, whacks off to the Muslim call to prayer and treats incidents like the Ft Hood shooting as workplace violence. So………….where is OBAMA?

ISIS is running through IRAQ and some how OUR responsibility? So American blood should shed but not IRAQI’S? explain that one to me please??

donna

No earl. Iraqis should defend themselves but apparently cannot at this point. Do you think it is right after so much blood has already been shed to just let it go? So the blood can be for nothing?

Earl Lee

If not now when??? Enough American blood has been shed

Andy Martin

You’re saying the USA is incapable of taking out ISIS?

The POTUS that went there in the first place had nothing to do with anything.

Really Ruffy? Got anything to back up your sucking of Obama’s knob?

No, however YOU and others like you are mentally deranged idiots.

Stop posting.

No??? Iraquis had a very capable army before GWB decided they needed “regime change”. You might want us to forget about him but we haven’t.

Andy Martin

They did? Oh you mean the Republican Guard that Saddam’s bidding. You know, rape rooms, torture? I’ll bet you’re a fan of the SS and the Gestapo too. How about the Klan Ruffy?

Rafael X

And we traded him for what exactly? He was keeping the ”islamo-facists” whatever that means in line. Saddam would have crushed ISIS before they ever got to a computer that got internet. Neocons caused that mess they are trying so desperately to pin on Obama. We didn’t have to hear so much about Iraq when Saddam was there.

Andy Martin

[[ Neocons caused that mess they are trying so desperately to pin on Obama. ]]

Your punk POTUS pulled the troops out and ISIS popped up. Screw your revisionism Ruffy. And your boy called ISIS ‘JAY-VEE’! You would expect more from your commander-in-chief than name calling and a flippant attitude. Obama is an effin loser and puts Americans at risk.

Rafael X
Guest

Not revisionism Andy I just go a little further back then you. ISIS is nothing more than a bunch of bloodthirsty thugs. They might not be the Jayvee team but America is the big leagues they are not taking us over anytime soon. They are no giants and put on their pants one leg at time like everyone else. One last thing Syrian Kurds are so thankful for those strikes they are naming their children after OUR POTUS.

[[ ISIS is nothing more than a bunch of bloodthirsty thugs ]]

Yet your punk POTUS ran from them.

[[ One last thing Syrian Kurds are so thankful for those strikes they are naming their children after OUR POTUS. ]]

Yet the beheadings and killings are still taking place…………..which could have been avoided had Obama left troops in Iraq.

Rafael X

It was not happening before we had troops in Iraq.

Andy Martin

That’s right. There were no rapes, no torture, no gassing, no brutality, no human rights violations. You miss the ‘old days’ and Saddam Ruffy? Here’s an idea Ruffy. Let’s bring back Jim Crow laws, the Klan, lynchings, massa raping the sistas, and every other horror done to blacks. I mean after all, it kept them ‘uppity blacks’ IN LINE as you put it before. Gangs would be a thing of the past, no knockout game issues, no riots…………you know, the ‘good ol’ days’. You friggin’ moron.

Rafael X
Guest

Does that mean you are done bringing back LBJ? Thing of the past right? Or do you pick and choose when you want to ignore history. Like I said I miss the days I didn’t have to worry about americans getting blown off or beheaded over there.

Andy Martin
Guest

What kind of disjointed crap was that? You said Hussein kept Iraqis ‘in line’. I responded with HOW he kept them ‘in line’ and drew an analogy with how blacks were kept ‘in line’. Same tactics you festering pustule. So logically you should be okay with treating blacks the way they were treated before the CRA. Or is it different when it comes to blacks. Why is it okay to terrorize Iraqis but not blacks you pathetic racist? Because you will say anything and do anything to protect your sac of crap POS POTUS.

Rafael X
Guest

Actually I’ve said Sadam Hussein kept the extremists in line. You parallel with blacks here doesn’t even make sense since blacks where not religious extremist trying to overthrow the government. Nice try playing the race card idiot. But it’s not a game to everyone.

Andy Martin
Guest

So I lied about how Hussein kept EVERYONE in line? And who defines ‘extremist’ Ruffy? The guy who doesn’t want his power challenged. Let’s remember that the protesters at Tiananmen Square were called ‘extremists’.

My analogy with respect to blacks was precise. It was about keeping people ‘in line’ which you seem to favor…………………..unless it involves blacks. Got it racist?

And who defines extremists Ruffy? Do you think the Chinese consulted Merriam-Webster before moving on Tianeman Square? And ‘uppity’ is interchangeable with ;extremist’.

Andy Martin

And Hitler was keeping people ‘in line’ too. What was your point again?

That is why the news is focused on Ebola and the “chickenshit” story – it keeps low information voters focused on those stories instead of the ugly things like ISIS, the IRS and VA scandals, the putrid economy, the fraud and corruption in DC, Benghazi and the other scandals piled up….Obama said he was not on the ballot this time, but his policies were – and then did everything he could to bury those policies until the election is over. If you want to hear about more fraud in the Obama administration, go to the PhilsGang.com site, look in the… Read more »

Thanks for the link. Listened in, they are spot on. Makes me sick to think about it and I’ve known they’ve been up to this for a while now. Speaking of “bubbles”, obama is also like a bubble, one that is about to burst, much like that of one big ugly pimple that NO ONE wants.

I will never forget the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. And I darn sure won’t be forgetting that we STILL need to (not the word I really want to say) “extinguish” ISIS.

Here is a radical idea. Vote for the 2016 Republican Dream Candidate and no more mediocrity. View AMERICAIDEA for the Iraq response (though that time is past now).
