Must share video: this generation’s ‘Time for Choosing’

Young America’s Foundation has launched its year-long campaign in remembrance of Ronald Reagan’s “A Time for Choosing” speech. And so Andrew Coffin, Director of the Reagan Ranch and Vice President of YAF, sent me this superb video which explains exactly why it is indeed a time for choosing.

Next Monday, October 27th will be the 50th anniversary of Reagan’s iconic speech that launched the modern day conservative movement in America — and launched his career, which ended up at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. I’m quite sure Reagan’s spirit — and that of others – which still linger amidst the White House are quite disturbed with what is happening in our Constitutional Republic.

Young America’s Foundation will be releasing a series of videos in remembrance of the 50th anniversary of the speech — this first one is focused on national security, the federal government’s preeminent imperative.

Reagan focused on the fight against the “evil empire” of the Soviet Union and the threat of communism. He commanded Mikhail Gorbachev to tear down this wall — and that wall came down. Today we are confronting a resurgent Russia, an emboldened China, a belligerent Iran, and the savage barbarism of Islamo-fascism — and what is our response?

President Ronald Reagan advocated for “peace through strength” and was a true leader when it came to protecting America from her enemies. He said, “We want our national policy to be based on what we know in our hearts is morally right.” We need to reestablish President Reagan’s vision for America –its exceptionalism, and we need to stop leading from behind and promising more flexibility after reelection.

I’ve been to the Reagan ranch several times — each visit has been remarkable. At Rancho del Cielo you get the sense of rugged American individualism, grandeur, and humility — all absent today and hence why 50 years later it truly is a “Time for Choosing.”

@Wihite My last pay <-check was $9500 working 12 hours a week online. My neighbour's sister has been averaging 15k for months now and she works about 20 hours a week. I can't believe how easy it was once I tried it out..

Yup Reagan was a great man, there are none even remotely close to living up to his standard in the republican party today, why should I vote republican, when they are just as rotten as the democrats? mostly all I can see in both parties is a bunch low life slags.

Ted Cruz!!

Do you want to stay this course, or do you want more secure borders, LEGAL immigration, protect and defend our homeland and Constitution, less Government regulations, someone who will work with both parties and find common ground, reunite the people? Reagan was not very popular before he became President. You never know what a persons capabilities are until they’re put to the test, Like Reagan. Its time to give a chance back to a republican.

To a CONSERVATIVE Republican. Not a Dole, McCain, Romney, Bush…

And there in lies the problem….Conservatives have a hard time agreeing on anything…Dems will agree on anything that gives them more free stuff, more government control of their lives…

Reagan did a great job uniting. What the republicans lack is a true LEADER. Absence of leadership breeds chaos….

There are some good ones……..Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Louis Gohmert, Jim Jordan, just to name a few. But, your’e right, most of the Republicans are scum.

I disagree regarding presidents and military experience. Some of our worst presidents served in the military. Calvin Coolidge who in my estimation was one of our better presidents did not serve. Respecting the military; ahering to the Constitution; being an honorable and principled citizen who advocates limited government; good common sense along with at least average intelligence, and an ability to lead are what I think are necessary. We can’t just start from square one, but we can work hard to get back to square one.

O yeah morally right like iran contra and ignoring aids. Reagan was no hero. We are still suffering from trickle down economic theory.

AND what do you call the bailouts? The middle class thrives more when they are not regulated to death by rich democrats who want to spread only the wealth of hard working Americans to the lazy whinny self-indulgent. So stop blaming Reagan and Bush, its been the big O for a while now and its time he took responsibility for his dismissive attitude of Americans.

No,we are not “suffering from trickle down economic theory”. We are suffering from cronyism, we are suffering fom over regulation, we are suffering from over taxation, we are suffering from poiticians that don’t do what the people hired them for. Iran contra? Yep that was illegal. The people involved were prosecuted. Oh, don’t forget Nixon, he stepped down for his misdeeds. This administration has done ALL OF THE SAME THINGS. Except getting caught breaking and entering. This admin used the NSA to do that. Do you need me to list the others again? What is worse? Iran contra or Fast… Read more »

Well said. I’d just like to add – Obama is the President, Nixon wanted to be.

Nixon was the President. He stepped down due to that little problem called “watergate”. And using the IRS to target “enemies”. That’s how we got Gerald Ford. If I remember correctly.

Correct. My comment was a satirical remark meaning Nixon would have loved to have gotten away with all Obama has.

Thanks for the clarification!! You never know on here.:) Oh your certainly right about that! But, you know, we don’t really have the “support” of the MSM to help with the little things..Like propaganda..LOL

Thank you for putting into words what I, along with so many others, believe and feel to the core that our Country is going in the wrong direction.

The problem is that while ISIS continues to grow and strengthen, our own military has been decimated with budget cuts, reducing our military presence and sending our military to help fight ebola in a land far away.

I have been watching old Reagan movies circa 1942. It is wonderful to see the wonderful young actor, the roles that he played, and to see him in action, long before he became our 40th President. 🙂

The United States has always been an isolationist nation. We did not want to get involved with the wars in Europe in 1914 or 1939. Why should we? Our life was safe, these war were “Europe’s wars”, why should we send our boys to the other side of the world to a fight which does not threaten us? In the end, we lost more American lives and there was more destruction than if we had interceded with great force in the early years of the wars. Do we never learn?

The history of Ronald Reagan should be written that he was nothing more than a tool to harm the nation. He tripled our debt, he sold weapons to enemies and he started the war against the nation by bringing in trickle down. The man was a disgrace. Since Reagan the American middle class have suffered. Republicans and those who vote Republicans are nothing more than tories, red coats, the buffoons and suckers who kissess rich man’s ass and exist for no other reason than to kiss rich man’s ass. The ossified SOB should have been impeached, but God got to… Read more »

You are an idiot. Reagan never made the middle class suffer. All lies! Typical of your type to spread lies and bash greatness. You are an example of what is wrong with my country. Do the USA a favor and jump off a cliff.

Reagan was a leftie peacenik compared to Obama. He would be considered a RINO today for being a union leader and for advocating for the elimination of nuclear warheads. He also palled around with Communists.

Wow, the hero worship of Reagan is out of control. The real Reagan: 1 – Increased the National Debt 3X. 2 – Raised taxes 11 times. 3 – Made abortion legal as governor. 4 – Made no fault divorce legal as governor. 5 – Illegal weapon sales to Iran to fund illegal wars in Central America. 6 – Passed National bans on assault and plastic guns. 7 – Over 200 people in his Administration were investigated and/or convicted in ethics violations. 8 – Ignored the AIDS crisis. 9 – Granted amnesty for millions of illegal aliens. 10 – Sided with… Read more »

What this country needs is a true leader. One who puts ballistics and boots in the sand and not looking for fake targets but for ISIS & anybody that supports or helps them. Not in some country fighting Ebola to infect them all. We need a leader that tells congress and Senate that your not getting raises and your not taking vacation or holiday until your work is done and done right for the American peoples interest, not the lobbyists that are filling your Damn pockets. One that stands up to the United Nations and says if you don’t want… Read more »
