NIH says no money for Ebola virus? Somehow they found the money to study 14-year-old Chinese prostitutes

As I’m sure you know, former White House Chief of Staff and now Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel once quipped, “never let a good crisis go to waste.” And you don’t get a much better crisis than Ebola. The progressive socialists of the Democrat Party are milking it for all its worth, as they see their hopes sinking for the midterm elections.

As reported by The Huffington Post “As the federal government frantically works to combat the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, and as it responds to a second diagnosis of the disease at home, one of the country’s top health officials says a vaccine likely would have already been discovered were it not for budget cuts. Dr. Francis Collins, the head of the National Institutes of Health, said that a decade of stagnant spending has “slowed down” research on all items, including vaccinations for infectious diseases.”

“As a result, he said, the international community has been left playing catch-up on a potentially avoidable humanitarian catastrophe. “NIH has been working on Ebola vaccines since 2001. It’s not like we suddenly woke up and thought, ‘Oh my gosh, we should have something ready here,'” Collins told The Huffington Post on Friday. “Frankly, if we had not gone through our 10-year slide in research support, we probably would have had a vaccine in time for this that would’ve gone through clinical trials and would have been ready.”

Yep, we have a crisis, and the Democrats aren’t going to let it go to waste. The Washington Examiner says, “Blame Republicans for Ebola. That’s the message from a key Democratic group that on Monday began a “blitzkrieg attack” on GOP congressional spending cuts on programs that could have been used to fund overseas health efforts that might have helped stop the killer virus. “Like rabid dogs in a butcher shop, Republicans have indiscriminately shredded everything in their path, including critical programs that could have dealt with the Ebola crisis before it reached our country. Yesterday, a health worker tested positive for the virus — now, the effects of the GOP’s fanatical hatred for our government may finally be exposed,” said Erica Payne, president and founder of the progressive Agenda Project Action Fund.”

“With a new video and fact sheet, her group is targeting Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Kansas Sen. Pat Roberts and other Republicans up for re-election with the charge that they are to blame for the health crisis by voting for cuts at the National Institute of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and in foreign aid.”

Ok, it’s time for the truth police to step in — and trust me, this was fun!

Here’s the truth about the National Institute of Health and its spending practices:

From Senator Tom Coburn’s (R–OK) Wastebook 2012 :

-$ 295,364 determining that male fruit flies are more attracted to youngerfemale fruit flies than older female fruit flies;

– $350,000 researching how golfers perform better when using their imagination;

– $548,731 acquiring evidence that heavy drinking in a person’s thirties can lead to feelings of immaturity, while in their twenties it would not;

– $666,905 researching how fictional characters in books, movies, and television shows can help a person feel better about life.

Furthermore, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) reported on ways to find savings at the NIH in its biennial Budget Options report released in March 2011. Capping the growth of the agency’s budget at 1 percent per year, for example, could save $10.3 billion between 2013 and 2021.

I also found these very interesting spending tidbits:

1. The National Institute on Drug Abuse rolled pot (in grape flavored paper), provided it to study participants (potheads), instructed them how to smoke it, and observed them for 4 hours at a time. This cost taxpayers nearly $1 million. The goal was to “…understand why people take more risks such as drug driving or involvement in unsafe sex when using marijuana.”

2. Positive reinforcement is a great way to quit smoking. Paul Michael Cinciripini has conducted $343,487 worth of studies on the effectiveness of porn as the reward for smoking cessation.

3. How likely are you to experience excessive noise exposure on the New York City subway? NIH researcher Robyn Gershon spent three years and $472,286 trying to find out.

4. Though welfare reform increased employment and decreased welfare caseloads as intended, Nancy E. Reichman wanted to determine if the work-first requirements actually cause an undue burden on recipients. She got $793,695 of stimulus funding.

5. After conducting a “needs assessment”, Simon Rosser found that gay men required porn in order complete online HIV prevention education. Rosser’s Men’s Internet Study (MINTS) for HIV Prevention has spent over $5 million so far, creating a porn site (SexPulse). NIH Director Dr. Collins has defended this website because it takes “into account specific nuances of [the gay] culture and language.

6. NIH is concerned that only a few scientific investigations of co-ed hookups have been conducted. So they gave Dr. Michael Carey $400,000 to interview 500 first year college girls about their “penetrative sexual hookups”. He checked in on them monthly for a year.

7. Kim Fromme simply claimed, “little is known about the behavioral risks that have been associated with collegiate drinking,” and received $3,276,420 in NIH grants to find out more.

8. In order to promote workforce diversity in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine (STEMM), Dr. Mary Carnes got $2 million to create a video game to help faculty identify their stereotype-based biases.

9. NIH favorites Jeffrey T. Parsons and Christian Grov, along with Jonathan Rendina (Kirchstein fellow) have received well over $12.25 million for sexual pet projects including (but not limited to) “Pillow Talk” and “SCORE”. These three researchers are generally interested in sexual compulsivity, sex/drug use diaries, sex parties, and bathhouse participation among “highly sexually active” gay/bisexual men. Calling his work a “niche,” Grov was also involved in a penis size satisfaction study as an NIH-funded postdoctoral fellow.

10. And the coup d’grace: NIH funded the Chinese CDC to the tune of $90 million over the last ten years, and has been studying 14-year-old Chinese prostitutes, 35-year -old Chinese prostitutes, and teaching Chinese therapists how to do acupuncture properly. In the last two and half years, NIH has given over $30 million to Chinese scientists working in China to research Chinese problems.

The sad thing is that the progressive socialists will be able to run their ads and won’t be widely — nor forced to make a retraction. Imagine if all these funds went to Ebola vaccination development? So this claim by the NIH Director Dr. Collins is complete hogwash and the subsequent ads by this progressive group are demented lies — just like “you can keep your doctor.”

Always remember that for progressive socialists truth is inconvenient and just like light to a vampire. Let’s be our own media source and spread this truth all over the country and force Erica Payne of the progressive Agenda Project Action Fund to take down these false ads.

  1. Do you really think there is no vaccine? The Government has a patent on Ebola, there is big $ to be made. People will be fighting in the streets to get the shot, the fear will be at fever pitch when they release the news they have a vaccine.

  2. NIH has had a $29 to 31 billion per year budget for the last 3 years. That alone is frightening, other than waste listed in the article what are they doing with our health?

Francis Collins takes credit for the Human Genome project. A private company Celer Celera did more of the work on a much lower budget, they combined their work near the end of the project.

We do not and should not have government as a primary force in medical / health research and distribution. The government that can give you much will take much away.

    • Private industry would have a vaccine for Ebola tomorrow if there was an incentive for them to do it. (I mean that in a positive way, how can we can encourage private industry to solve these problems?) They would get it done, quicker, cheaper and the product would be more reliable.

  3. 14 y/o I Chinese prostitutes, sex parties, bath houses, sex hook ups,- sounds like a party in an Amer city!!! You fools don’t think immoral, cheating men visit these places and bring diseases home to unsuspecting wives and family ? More than you think.
I have no problem with theses studies . West didn’t mention who these studies were used, if the findings helped law enforcement , public health like the noise and behavior studies. Everything sounds terrible without all the information . West like to give people just enough info to piss them off .
Since we are highlighting useless spending, why are the demos and reps spending 4 billion dollars on campaigning ?

    • West knows that his followers will not RESEARCH anything that he says. They take his OPINION as FACT which would make them IDIOTS!!

      • The funny part is that you think your own opinions are facts. As far as I can tell, you don’t understand the difference. It is very telling about your motivation in being here EVERY DAY.
Have you ever stopped to consider that perhaps you are what you project on to everyone else?

      • NO loon…the difference is…the FACTS that I tell about ALLEN (rob these loons blind) west can be verified… this one….Allen was RELIEVED OF COMMAND meaning the army didn’t feel he was FIT TO LEAD!!

  4. Saw Erica Payne on FOX News last night. She is one ignorant person. Like most liberals, she couldn’t keep her stupid mouth shut while other people were talking.

      • Earl the 2012 election was clearly stolen with many jurisdictions getting well over 100% voter turnout and not a single republican vote!
That’s not a smoking gun the friggin barrel has melted an fallen off!
But I can see you are very proud to be part of the corruption!

      • it’s one thing for a Democratic presidential candidate to dominate a Democratic city like Philadelphia, but In 59 voting divisions in the city, Mitt Romney received not one vote. Zero. Zilch. Please explain how that is possible Liberal…thanks

  5. $7 trillion in six years spent on liberal projects and they can’t come up with a vaccine. As usual, lies don’t bother democrats at all.

  6. Ebola came to the USA under Obama’s watch. Remember the wonderful Bush years when you didn’t have to worry about contracting Ebola? The good ole’ days. #ObamaFail

    • Two hijacked planes came to the WTC on Bush (the fool’s) watch. I think the fool has a higher body count. Or were those the good ‘ole days to you?

      • Pssst….Clinton owns 9/11. He let Bin Laden go. Yes, I do miss the good ole’ Bush years. Unemployment was down, less dependence on food stamps, lower gas prices, lower utility prices, lower food prices, No Ebola, no ISIS, No IRS targeting, No president putting the game of golf over his job, No race baiting, no divisive politics, no freeing Jihadist terrorists for a deserter, no trying to disarm us, No death panels, lower deficit, our border wasn’t out of control, kids could enjoy their lunches in school, no ObamaCare……sigh, oh how I miss the Bush years!!

  7. RiverSiren there is so much waste of tax dollars in this government its pathetic. wasted on completely stupid stuff the liberals dream up to study. stop the waste. do what is needed. stop blaming the gop for your own misdeeds. God help America.

  8. pResident Ebola explaining this to adoring Democrat voters at his re-election campaign – “Hey, it’s nothing personal I’m sure, it’s just that realistically in a world socialist economy 14-year old Chinese prostitutes represents a massive economic powerhouse and well, y’know, America simply doesn’t – so just hurry up and die die of Ebola already America”
Democrat voters – “Yay Obama Wooop!”

  9. This is nothing more than a desperate “scare and panic” video Ms. Payne created as a tool to sway the uninformed voter and demonize the Republican party. I heard about other studies that included “shrimp running on treadmills”…… yep…. and duck genitalia. Wonder if either of those studies concluded with an Ebola cure…..doubtful.

  10. “Budge cuts” did not cause this, not closing down the borders is the issue here. Besides, how do they call 17 trillion a year in Obama Care budge cuts? How much were they planning to spend? Oh I forgot, the Democrats initially estimated to do all that they would like, the total came to 46 trillion a year, and then they began dropping the number of the cost every month down to 17 trillion. OMG!

END TIMES PROPHECY NEWS UPDATE, Carrie Geren Scoggins Political Newsletter,
my program now on webcast and YouTube

    • Are you sure the initial estimate was only 46 trillion a year? I could have sworn it was at least 10 times that amount, and the startup cost (before getting into the yearly cost) was at least a million jabillions.

  11. When dems can explain why they brought Ebola here to begin with via Obama’s orders then they can play the blame game….

    • The parasitic welfare class, is one of the biggest reasons for there not being “sufficient funds.”
75% of Americans receive some sort of handout or social welfare check from the federal government.
There’s plenty of money to pay for Ebola research, Ebola treatment and Ebola containment.
The point being, is that this WORLDWIDE health crisis is being used as a political weapon to influence the American midterm elections. On both sides of the isle, politicians are playing patty-cake while American CHILDREN ARE DYING of South American Enterovirus, and Ebola is spreading all across the globe. This is possibly the most shameless, irresponsible act I’ve ever heard of in my entire life.

The federal government is not the solution to crisis, the federal government feeds off of crisis to grow. I can’t even bring myself to blame people like you, you’re just uneducated and misinformed.

      • Are you sure it’s only 75% ? I think that’s a lowball estimate, don’t be shy, MPS > 90%, 95%, or even 105% are probably much more reasonable estimates, right?

And did you count corporate welfare in that too, might drive that up to 125% of all Americans. Don’t want you to leave any facts out, because it might not make your point as accurate and strong if you leave those out.

Almost forgot…what about the 10 ISIS members who crossed the border in Texas last week? They could be on welfare, too. Make sure you count them in your estimate. Also, unless I have this wrong, cat, dogs, ferrets, etc. living in tax-payer funded animal shelters should be considered welfare recipients as well. Anyone have those population numbers?

  12. Mr. West…. if I were to list the fiscal value of Republican pork barrel projects in progress, it would dwarf the cherry-picked and misrepresented studies you posted above. The development of viral vaccines for a disease which is currently mutating would take a substantial portion of the current 30.1 billion dollar budget left to the NIH- a budget reduced by Republicans and a few self-styled Democrats who also vote against the interests of their constituents. This article is little more than one long ad hominem attack upon the authors of a central point you can’t debate: the glaring fact that cuts made to all regulatory agencies have generated vast profits for the companies which sponsor the Right. This ignorance will haunt your favored party in years to come, as those profits come at no small cost to a majority which has begun to discern that the mindlessly avaricious rich are the authors of their sorrows. Sadly, when it comes to diseases, the pundits of the Left are clearly ignorant as well; the majority of rabid dogs lose their appetite- and would be unlikely to shred anything in a butcher shop but the staff.

  13. This pap smear of an article, from a disgraced castoff of a party that has blocked the appointment of a new surgeon general for over a year! The wig wearing parasite, Rand Paul, loves guns more that he hates Ebola.

    • They blocked him because he wanted to implement a medical tyranny so the government can come in, and confiscate firearms on a Doctors say so without due process. That’s the same thing they did in the Soviet union you Marxist, treason POS! How about Obama put a SG candidate up that isn’t a Marxist gun grabber? People like you deserve to be put up against the wall for treason.

      • Also, Obama and his Marxists in the Senate set it up to where it only takes 50% of Senate vote to approve his appointees now. It used to take 2/3. Maybe if he’d stop appointing people his own party won’t approve, he would get somewhere.

      • Wow, I didn’t realize the Surgeon General could write their own laws, then bypass congress, and then implement those laws on the country with impunity. Must be nice, the SG doesn’t have to worry about the supreme court, either. Unlimited power. Don’t know why people make such a big deal about the Presidency, the SG’s office is where the real power is at.

      • If you want to see power at work, look at the IRS. They have more power than you could imagine, and Pres. Obama uses them as his gun. Also, the EPA. I wouldn’t be one bit surprised if the Surgeon General could do the things Grizzly claims. In this Administration, any one of them in Obama’s clan could call on him to do anything they want done, and it is done.

  14. If all these funds went to developing an ebola vaccine we might have half the money necessary for the R&D. Once we developed the vaccine it would only be billions more to distribute and administer the vaccine to those in Africa. I’m not saying it’s not a worthwhile endeavor, but to both mislead on the cost of vaccine development and ignore the merits of the listed studies is basically lying to your readers.

Just keep playing to their biases to drum up anger, it’s obviously excellent for business.
