Next week marks the end of fiscal year 2014 and while there are many statistical reviews — one in particuIar I found quite disturbing. As reported by CNS News, “Statistics from Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reveal that for fiscal year 2014 (Oct. 1, 2013 to Aug. 31, 2014) the number of “family units” — parent and child combinations — that have been apprehended at the Southwest border is up 412 percent from the number of family units taken into custody in fiscal year 2013. In fiscal year 2013 (Oct. 1, 2012 to Aug. 31, 2013), CBP apprehended 12,908 people who come illegally across the U.S. border as a family unit. In fiscal year 2014, the total was 66,142 – or a 412 percent increase. As it relates to these statistics CBP define ‘family unit as both adults and children.”
This news comes as President Barack Hussein Obama has decreed that illegal aliens be allowed to enlist in our military. Even more disconcerting is that hard working American family units must pay for this increase in illegal alien family units. The cost for schooling these illegal alien children is estimated to be around $760 million. Countless communities are awakening to find the Obama administration has secretly dispersed illegal aliens in their neighborhoods.
And could it be possible that the “strange” respiratory illness afflicting our children has a connection with this influx of illegal alien children into our schools and communities?
Here are the facts.
CNS reports most of the alien family units crossed the border in the Rio Grande Sector in Texas — a 500 percent increase in family units crossing – with 6,002 family units in 2013 and 50,619 family units in 2014. The Del Rio Sector in Texas also had a 500 percent increase – 591 family units in fiscal year 2012 to 4,839 in fiscal year 2014. Also, the statistics show that 88 percent more Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) crossed into the United States at the Southwest border in 2014 – 35,209 in fiscal year 2013 and 66,127 in fiscal year 2014.
We are witnessing the abject disregard for our sovereignty as a Constitutional Republic — our border is meaningless. But don’t worry, according to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, the southern border is as secure as it has ever been.
But we must also be vigilant in securing our southern border for another reason — the infiltration of Islamic jihadists. Needless to say, we also must be on watch for the coming crisis of Hispanic gangs such as MS-13 into our neighborhoods. Our document setting out our rule of law, the U.S. Constitution, is quite clear on the responsibility of the federal government to “repel invasions” and that means securing our borders.
At a time when our middle-income American families are struggling, this is not the time to play politics in order to shift a demographic balance in America for electoral purposes. We can also ill-afford to expand the welfare nanny-state for those who are here illegally. But these considerations mean nothing to the open borders special interest and radical Hispanic groups of the progressive socialist Left. This is all about power. And the best way to achieve power for this anti-American version of the Democrat party is to enlarge the dependency society and seek any means necessary to grant amnesty and a “pathway to citizenship” — in order to use public largesse in exchange for political patronage, which is electoral bribery and legalized plunder to support misconceived benevolence.
Our American children and grandchildren have dreams — not just illegal alien children. But the dreams of our children are being sacrificed for the politicized dreams of illegals — meaning the pursuit of happiness of our future generations mean nothing when weighed against the guarantee of happiness to others.
