O-baa-ma gives reassuring speech to ISIS at CENTCOM [VIDEO]

Alexander the Great is often attributed with the sentiment, “I would not fear an army of lions if led by sheep, I would however fear an army of sheep if led by a lion.”

On Wednesday, Barack Hussein Obama took the stage at the home of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM), MacDill AFB in Florida, and all I heard was baa-baa-baa.

As reported by CNS News, “President Barack Obama said he will not commit U.S. forces to fighting “another ground war in Iraq,” and explained that he had built a coalition of nations to help Iraq combat Islamic State terrorists.”

I’ve included an excerpt from Obama’s speech below, but you can watch the video if you prefer. It must be quite reassuring to our enemies.

This is not leading. It is retreating. And if our troops deployed to Iraq do not have a combat mission, then what are they there to do? Oh, right, advise and train, the exact same mission Obama was recommended to approve as part of a residual force in Iraq some three years ago.

So, I just have to ask, do we have a Status of Forces agreement with Iraq now? If Obama hadn’t been a political dupe and instead was a strategic visionary then we wouldn’t have to contend with “retraining” the Iraqi Army led by the Iranian cronies. Furthermore, we wouldn’t have to see ISIS riding around in American vehicles and using American weapons.

We continue to hear about this armada of a coalition but have yet to see any credible proof of its existence. Air power alone cannot destroy an enemy — and who exactly will be on the ground coordinating the air strikes? If the Kurdish Peshmerga forces or Iraqi Army are engaged with ISIS in ground combat operations, then someone in a U.S. uniform will be the GTAC (Ground Tactical Air Coordinator) communicating to our air assets. And if that person is on the ground alongside Iraqi forces in combat — are they not engaged in combat?

What kind of sheep stands before warriors – lions — and states, “As your Commander-in-Chief, I will not commit you and the rest of our Armed Forces to fighting another ground war in Iraq?” Why do we have a volunteer military who understands the commitment they are called to make to support and defend this nation? Far better to have a Commander-in-Chief who stands before these warriors and conveys to them a sense of confidence that we are going to defeat this savage and barbaric threat to our nation. To give them the directions and rules of engagement enabling them to meet the desired effects in the most expeditious timeframe and manner.

Can you imagine a top 25 college football coach standing before his team and telling them he isn’t going to commit them to playing the game? That we will support and advise a coalition that includes the cheerleaders, college band, and concession workers to play and we’ll lead them? Well, that’s what Obama the sheep basically did.

We lack leadership, but worse, America lacks courageous leadership. All we have as president is a weak speech-giver. Funny, he can muster far more anger and angst to commit his domestic ground troops to attack conservatives than to defend the honor of our Republic. Pathetic.

Here’s Obama’s sheep-speak if you can bear to read it:

The American forces that have been deployed to Iraq do not and will not have a combat mission. They will support Iraqi forces on the ground as they fight for their own country against these terrorists. As your Commander-in-Chief, I will not commit you and the rest of our Armed Forces to fighting another ground war in Iraq. After a decade of massive ground deployments, it is more effective to use our unique capabilities in support of partners on the ground so they can secure their own countries’ futures. And that’s the only solution that will succeed over the long term.

We’ll use our air power. We will train and equip our partners. We will advise them and we will assist them. We will lead a broad coalition of countries who have a stake in this fight. Because this is not simply America versus ISIL — this is the people of the region fighting against ISIL. It is the world rejecting the brutality of ISIL in favor of a better future for our children, and our children’s children — all of them.

But we’re not going to do this alone. …

And because we’re leading in the right way, more nations are joining us. Overall, more than 40 countries so far have offered assistance to the broad campaign against ISIL. Some nations will assist from the air — and already France and the United Kingdom are flying with us over Iraq, with others committed to join this effort.

Some nations will help us support the forces fighting these terrorists on the ground. And already Saudi Arabia has agreed to host our efforts to train and equip Syrian opposition forces. Australia and Canada will send military advisors to Iraq. German paratroopers will offer training. Other nations have helped resupply arms and equipment to forces in Iraq, including the Kurdish Pershmerga.

Can you imagine having to stand behind that in uniform and fake a smile, makes me want to vomit just thinking about it. But on a good note we are sending troops to help with Ebola, what a joke!

He is committed to make the Fight against his ISIS troops as slow expensive and ineffective as possible and that America and the world will continue to share their weapons and technology directly with the enemies of freedom and democracy like the Syrian Oppositon that processes weapons for ISIS. Because he loves your enemies and arms them even before your very eyes and with no shame at all. He is committed to nurturing Loveing and Caressing ISIS and continuing and ineffective bombing campaign against ISIS agreed upon insignificant targets. Over 150 Bombing missions so far and 90% effective we are… Read more »

Yes, lets continue to train and arm more Islamist`s, so they can turn around and use it against us.Did we learn nothing from Al Qaeda? We have alredy tried this and failed more than once….Doesn`t seem like a sound strategy at all.

Obama sent a thousand troops over to Iraq about a month ago. Now it’s over 1,600. Pentagon says they’re planning to ‘ramp up’ this war soon. Syria is the next country to be bombed.

This is not going to end well and lots more US soldiers will die.

Rather than boots on the ground, we can have Mr O with his golf cleats coordinating the air strikes, he’d be the one wearing the polo with the Target logo on the back.

O’s final objective is to topple Assad and install a member of the muslim brotherhood, just like they are doing in Iraq, now. He has reconfigured us, from last years no, to where we are today. ISIL is the standing muslim brotherhood army. In one year, they will be almost unstoppable. All because O is one of them.

Shouldn’t the WH be using “boots on the ground” here in America where there are at least 36 Islamic terrorist enclaves and a network of 22 villages across the nation? They are linked to a Pakistani militant group called Jamaat ul-Fuqua, known as “The Muslims of America”. The training facilities and communes located on hundreds of acres in New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Tennessee, So. Carolina, Colorado, California, Washington, Oklahoma, Michigan, Georgia, Alabama, and Texas. The FBI has proven this, but the Obama administration refuses to designate the MOA as foreign terrorists and until they do, the MOA… Read more »

i first heard 31 known cells but can see they are growing by the numbers. This is just unbelievable and totally insane! Do you have a link for this information as i’d like to read up on it. i had heard that the FBI has their hands tied because of our own laws, saying they can’t do anything until they ‘act’…meaning, people have to be maimed or die first. How sickening is that? People are pouring into our country at the southern border from some 75 different countries, and nothing is being done about it. NObama has made us sitting… Read more »

I’m thankful our Generals are speaking up. I don’t know if it will accomplish anything, but it’s a start. I fear he’s going to get our soldiers killed. ISIS has 35,000 troops and growing. He’s going to train 5,000 rebel Syrians troops and it will take at least 6 months or longer. He can call it what he wants, but our advisors and other support personal are going to be “boots on the ground” and I fear their going to be greatly outnumbered, not to mention, are they really going to be able to trust those their training not to… Read more »

Mr. President, those folks standing there and listening to you are warriors….warriors don’t like to be told they cannot go to war, especially when they are needed. BKB

See, that is the problem! Just because you have a gun, does not mean you have to use it to trim the hedges! In case you didn’t get the comparison, a warrior doesn’t look for war, he is just ready for it if necessary!! Can you idiots who think because President Obama does not want to launch a full out “boots on the ground” way with your sorry kids, does not mean he will not if all else fails!

Yes, it does mean he will fail! Listen to what the Generals are saying, Vincent.

he took the soldiers combat boots and replaced them with golf shoes, so he could say there are no American boots on the ground

As a failure in chief. Why didn’t you just leave what soldiers that we had there? It allowed ISIS to come in and take over! All of brave soldiers that were injured and died for Iraq, during Desert Storm and Operation Iraq suffered and died in vain! Thanks for nothing!

Only the foolish and ignorant listen to West and thinks he knows what he is talking about. Just becasue he was an officer, apparently a bad example of one at that, doesn’t mean he has common sense. Had the President not pulled the American soldiers out, those who died in the first middle east civil war, those who were over there would have just increased the numbers of the dead americans without a real achievement. He is not back peddling, he is taking a clearer look for a more achievable goal. NO war decision is perfect, it takes calculated approach.

Ba Ba Ba is right! He couldn’t lead his way out of an outhouse! Obummer you are a sorry case for Commander in Chief. Direct your Generals to do what you haven’t the balls to do. They at least have experience. All you have is your koran. That’s the part that worries me. As everything you do seems more for the ENEMY than for the country!

The gist of your ignorance surrounding what the President says is “what does the enemy believe about us”? Let me answer that for those who don’t have a brain to think this far……WHO CARES WHAT THEY THINK!!! We have a job to do and the President and those who care or give a **** are trying to do it right THIS TIME! You can never stamp out a virus that gives birth to someone who wants revenge. Terrorism is a virus who will always have another head waiting to grow! Only a fool or the enemy will think that what… Read more »

Obama is merely keeping his campaign promise. Is he thinking about homeland security? No, he’s keeping his campaign promise. If we don’t take swift action at some point (beyond airstrikes) we’re going to suffer. We can ignore ISIS and hope they’re contained by others, but the fact is ~ in the end ~ it will the United States who ultimately must step forward. We WILL be facing them on our home-front whether we like it or not ~ assuming we don’t stand strong now.

Why do you read Mr. West’s posts if you don’t like them? He makes perfect sense. Obama is a sheep. Period.

History will prove you very wrong, Mr Hare, do you really think we can beat ISIL from the air, they will hide behind the people of the country as they have already proven that they don’t give a rip about anything but death to all. I have a real problem trying to figure out what Obama’s agenda is all about

All this talk about committing troops to fight in Iraq ignores one very important point. The American people don’t want to send troops back to Iraq and even less to Syria. Even if he wanted to the President can’t make that kind of a commitment without authorization from Congress and he’s not going to get it. Only 34% of the public supports deploying ground troops to fight ISIS. You think Congress is going to back a plan that has 66% disapproval right before an election? Can we please for once just let the people in Syria and Iraq deal with… Read more »

No one wants more war or boots on the ground. But, reality is a hard knock. The fact is that ISIS has mushroomed by leaps and bounds while we dithered. Perhaps at the onset, airstrikes would have sufficed. Now, we’re playing catch-up. There will be no stopping ISIS until there ARE sufficient boots on the ground. We can procrastinate… but it won’t prevent the inevitable.

Paul Sheridan

Can we let those boots be Arab boots for once? The Iraqis should have been able to handle this all by themselves, they should still be able to with American air support.

Earl Lee

Allen (rob these loons blind) west and your followers….there is nothing keeping you from joining the fight over there! You want BOOTS ON THE GROUND….so let your boots be those boots! Enough AMERICAN blood has been shed…LET THEM FIGHT!!! You people need to BOOK A FLIGHT and JOIN THE FIGHT!!!

I think the author of “Battle On The Homefront” former Navy SEAL Carl Higbie has it right. This was just a photo-op for obama. What needs to be done is a massive bombardment of ISIS and to keep it up until they are no more.

Col., Obama has no intention of hurting ‘ISIL’, as he calls it — he had NO problem using military force to support the Islamic extremists who deposed the secular dictator in Libya, but was opposed to using force to stop Islamic terrorists from murdering thousands of Christians, and is only making a gesture now because he hopes to keep control of the Senate. Watch his speech to the UN after Benghazi — apologizing for the ‘despicable video’ that dared to ridicule Islam [I though we had freedom of speech in the U.S.], which he blamed for the murder of the… Read more »
