Ted Cruz steps into pro-Islamist snake pit at DC conference [VIDEO]

When you’re in the DC crowd and accepting speaking engagements, you really have to know who’s behind the scenes when you receive an invitation. There are always those with a hidden agenda. You might find yourself in a very untenable position backed into a corner than actually getting your word out. And that just happened to Ted Cruz.

As reported by the Washington Free Beacon, Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas) headlined a conference on Wednesday funded by a controversial Clinton donor that featured pro-Hezbollah and pro-Assad speakers in Washington, D.C. The “In Defense of Christians” summit was meant to be a gathering of Middle Eastern Christian leaders that seeks to raise awareness about the threats to Arab minorities from ISIL.

In advance of the meeting, the Beacon reported “critics fear several of the speakers will try to use the event to bolster Washington’s support for the Syrian regime in its ongoing civil war and help Bashar al-Assad restore his legitimacy and power.”

The conference was scheduled at a very interesting point, right when President Obama was about to deliver his strategy to contend with ISIS. Nope, I don’t believe in coincidences in Washington DC. It seems this conference was nothing more than a rah-rah event to bolster Assad in Syria as an advocate for Christians — as opposed to the vile and disgusting savagery of ISIS.

As a matter of fact, the roster of speakers included some of the Assad regime’s most vocal Christian supporters, as well as religious leaders allied with the Iranian-backed terrorist group Hezbollah. However, Joseph Cella, the conference spokesperson said “some Members were unable to participate as originally scheduled. “ Hmm, methinks some of these Members did a little due diligence and understood the hidden agenda, and all of a sudden they had a “committee meeting.”

Well guess what happened? Cruz’s comments in support of Israel were met with boos and comments from angry hecklers and he ended up walking out. Here is a portion of the statement his office released today:

“When I spoke in strong support of Israel and the Jewish people, who are being persecuted and murdered by the same vicious terrorists who are also slaughtering Christians, many Christians in the audience applauded. But, sadly, a vocal and angry minority of attendees at the conference tried to shout down my expression of solidarity with Israel.

“I told the attendees that those who hate Israel also hate America, that those who hate Jews also hate Christians, and that anyone who hates Israel and the Jewish people is not following the teachings of Christ.

“These statements were met with angry boos.”

“After just a few minutes, I had no choice. I told them that if you will not stand with Israel, if you will not stand with the Jews, then I will not stand with you. And then I walked off the stage.”

Perhaps Cruz and his team should have noticed that “Funding for the conference was provided by Clinton donor and Lebanese-Nigerian billionaire Gilbert Chagoury, according to organizers. The wealthy businessman pledged $1 billion to the Clinton Global Initiative in 2009. Chagoury is also reportedly backer of Lebanese politician Michel Aoun, Hezbollah’s top Christian ally in the country, according to U.S. diplomatic cables published by WikiLeaks. Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Raï, who was scheduled to speak during the same keynote slot as Cruz on Wednesday evening, has called Israel an “enemy state that is occupying Lebanese territory” and defended Hezbollah’s right to attack the Jewish state. “Everyone says why is Hezbollah carrying arms?” said Rai in a 2011 interview with Al-Arabiya. “We responded that the international community did not exert pressure on Israel to withdraw from Lebanese territory. As long as there is an occupied Lebanese territory, Hezbollah will maintain that it wants to carry arms in defense of its land. What will we say to it then? Isn’t [Hezbollah] right?”

Uh, this all seems a bit problematic — and the Clinton Global Initiative? I guess they’re now big supporters of Hezbollah, the same folks responsible for the horrific 1983 bombing of the U.S. Marine Corps barracks in Beirut. Like Mom always said when I was growing up, “folks will know you by the company that you keep”.

A spokesperson for Cruz said the senator still planned to speak at the conference despite the controversial participants because he was committed to raising awareness about the persecution of Middle East Christians. “Sen. Cruz is appearing at the In Defense of Christians event tonight because he wants to take every opportunity to highlight this crisis, the unspeakable persecution of Christians,” said Catherine Frazier. “America has been silent for far too long, and we need to speak with a united voice against this horror.”

I would caution the Senator — and his spokesperson — to be careful regarding with whom he stands with a “united voice.”

Well it’s clear, they weren’t so united after all.

Before the event, the Beacon reported that “Lebanese Information Center president Joseph Gebeily, a Lebanese Christian who staunchly opposes Assad, said he was “shocked” by many of the invited speakers, but decided to attend the conference after he learned members of Congress would be present. “I decided we should be present and not let the bad representatives of Middle East Christians hijack the true message of Christianity, which is basically democracy, tolerance, co-existence, inclusiveness,” said Gebeily. “It wasn’t a very quick and easy decision, but since we were given this opportunity, I said let’s go and see and face those advocates of tyranny and crimes against humanity.”

Funny thing — he wasn’t invited to speak.

Once again, on the surface the conference and its title seemed admirable. However, upon further review we find this conference was a dangerous infiltration of pro-tyranny, Islamo-fascist and terrorist individuals.

It should concern all of you that we have a group of individuals such as these holding a conference in your nation’s capital. It should be alarming that we have our U.S. Senators and Representatives attending — and speaking.

But what should concern us most is the influence being bought by our enemies — as we reported on Qatar’s $14.8 million gift to the Brookings Institute and now this Lebanese-Nigerian billionaire Gilbert Chagoury and his cool $1 billion to the Clinton’.

America is being sold to the highest Islamist bidder and someone needs to tell them to get screwed.

  1. Anyone who does not support Israel is against God and if your against God You are against Freedom and probably a mohammad child molesting pervert.

  2. I usually agree with you, Mr. West, but I think it was good that Ted Cruz was able to show up the bigotry, rudeness and lack of respect that supporters of Hamas have.

    • I agree. Ted Cruz stoop UP for what is right and in so doing, he showed the Islamobites that he will never stand with them! I am proud of Mr. Cruz!! Very proud! NO ONE else did what he did!!

      • If they “hate” then they are not Christian. If they stand up and boo they are not Christians. And we all know that there are always plants in those meetings.

      • No… we don’t always know there are plants at those dinners.
But we do know that there are many Christians who are antisemitic… not many here in the US. But you can not say they don’t exist.

      • Then again, we cannot be Christians and be antisemetic, if we are then we do not follow Christ, and that is a definition of a Christian.

      • Are you truly that ignorant?
Pointing out that the audience was Christian, not Muslim, as some have mistakenly thought makes me a troll?
No little lady… offering nothing to the discussion but personal attacks makes you a troll.

      • You know, you’re right. & I was beginning to lose my temper at such willful stubbornness. He’s NOT worth it!

      • Thank you Brendan, for pointing out this truth. I am disappointed in those who cannot understand what you are trying to get across. I am not anti-semitic and I support Israel, but I am not ignorant of the facts that there are ME Christians who do not like Israel and that there are also antisemitic Christians.

      • I can. One isn’t “Christian” just because one CALLS oneself that; one must follow the teachings of the Christ–obviously whoever BOOED does NOT, therefore…they are NOT Christian. One must DO certain things to be able to call oneself Christian!

      • They “hate” Israel? Do you HEAR yourself? That is NOT Christian–ipso facto! HATE–especially OF Israel–is the mark of a NON-Christian! If they truly “hate” Israel, they have forfeited the RIGHT to pretend to BE Christians!

      • By any Biblical definition that is not the Christian way. Westboro Baptists call themselves Christians, but I don’t think anyone outside of that little group would agree.

      • not all that “call” themselves Christians shall enter into the gates of heaven either, many are deceived, you appear to be one of them!

      • What are you talking about?
        How am I deceived?
I am simply pointing out that there are Christians who oppose Israel.
I am not one of them.
Pointing out that they exist does not make me deceived.

      • I’m simply pointing out, that if God plucked out the true vine, Israel and grafted in the gentiles, christians, then we Should be praying for Israel return to the messiah,Jesus, which God promises they will. He has punished them for their sins, we must not think we are better than they! If He plucked out the Jews, we need to tread very carefully when we condemn the Jews, we should be condemning the Muslim. Allah Akbar group that was present at that meeting! Great Ted Cruz, walked out and washed his hands of them, they are not christians, but muslim sympathisers, quite evident, if you watch the video!!

      • It was not Muslims that booed him.
Did you think they were Muslims because you heard middle eastern accents?
This was a dinner gathering of Middle Eastern Christians

Many Middle Eastern Christians hate Jews.

      • Read your Bible. A true Christian that has accepted Jesus in their heart, knowing he died for our sins through love of everyone not just certain people. It states all throughout the bible, Israel is God’s choosen people and those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who condemn Israel will be destroyed. So anyone calling themselves Christians and talking trash about Israel needs to read their Bible and maybe worry about their own salvation instead of talking trash and hatred about others.

      • just because they called themselves a christian group makes them no more a christian than if I stand in a garage and declare myself a car!

      • then they need a reality check, reality, the Holy Bible is the Word of God, His Word will never pass away! What He has written, will never pass away, this world will pass away, He made it perfectly clear, “Those that curse Israel, He will curse! Those that bless Israel, He will Bless”!

      • No.
Pointing out that they exist does not make me one of them genius.
If you point out that Islamic terrorism is a threat, does that make you an Islamic terrorist?

      • I probably know a bit more about them than you are trying to convince people you know. Throwing out silly questions like that is not really mature. The goals are the same – spread the muslim religion to cover the world, and for the militants the method of getting there is to eliminate everything that gets in your way.

      • I doubt you know more about them. I doubt you know the difference between them. You can try to hide your ignorance by dismissing the point I was raising, but it is significant.

      • I am certain you do not know as much about them as I do. Dismissing the differences out of hand as you do could prove to be as big a gaffe as misjudging the Fedayeen and Al Sadr. Fortunately, you aren’t in a position to do anything, other than misunderstand the situation. I had hoped for a conversation that is evidently beyond your knowledge, and obviously beyond your capacity for reasoned and courteous discussion.

      • Keep your provocative snot to yourself, & do not PRESUME to educate us! We KNOW there are different sects, but any who do NOTHING to fight Islam, are in effect supporting it. And outright BOOING someone who stands up for Israel is the hallmark of being a BAD person! Well, that & the other crimes the mudsimes do, such as advocating pedophilia, beating wives & children, beheadings, “honor” killings, mutilation, cannibalism, & the other inhuman fruits of this idiotic system–I don’t care WHAT name it goes under. Until everyone is fee & equal, they have NO credit with ME.

      • I have lived in predominantly muslim areas….of course I know all about sunni and shia differences. That was a rather silly question.

      • Know ’em, your 2 letters to me mark YOU as a first class JERK, & I don’t waste TIME on such as you. BLOCKED. Talk to the walls, stupid.

      • I was pointing out that the people who booed were supporters of Hezbollah, not Hamas. If you knew the difference, you would have known that and the significance of it. It was not meant unkindly and it was not silly.

      • They were mostly Orthodox, the Antioch Church and others, not Copts. Yes, they are Christian. No, they are not muslims. Yes, they behaved badly. No, Hezbollah and Hamas do not have the same goals, and no they do not use the same methods.

  3. I think you might be underestimating Sen. Cruz. You don’t think he had a strong suspicion what would happen when he spoke so strongly in support of Israel? Perhaps he was trying to expose this organization for what it is, so that other Christians might not be so easily duped into giving them money. If so, he did an excellent job!

  4. If you will not stand with Israel! Then I will not stand with you! Amen, I believe Our God of the Holy Bible made the same declaration! Many times, He made it perfectly clear! That’s is one reason why America is falling like a ton of bricks!

  5. YOU should be standing with Ted Cruz, Allen. He is the only one who seems to have the guts to stand up to our enemies, knowing the risks he is taking. Thank you, Ted Cruz.

  6. Senator Cruz did the Right thing by speaking out to haters who Say they are Christians..what part about them was Christ like ??. The righteous shall be persecuted for Christ…Every invitation should be taken to EXALT CHRIST and expose satan the god of this world !!! Doubt me, look around you or watch the news ..The WORLD is full of Hate and Pride !!!

    • The part of them that was Christ-like was the part that refused to support the continued slaughter of thousands of people per day over ownership of a strip of land. Supporting either Israel OR Palestine in this conflict is just plain wrong.

      • This is so untrue..This Coalition called themselves Christians but are Muslim..Muslims want One thing ” to wipe Israel off the map ” Believe what you will GENUINE CHRISTIAN ACTIONS ARE BASED ON TRUTH (BIBLE TRUTH) NOT KORAN FALISIES…

      • Coptic Christians and I use the word Christian lightly…still want Israel wiped off the map…Please Brendan for yourself, look up what ISIS, ISIL AND COPTIC BELIEVE..JESUS IS NOT GOD’S SON TO THEM, HE IS ONLY A PROPHET, HE IS NOT SAVIOR MOHAMMAD IS…THANKS FOR YOUR REPLYS…

      • You’re a moron and wouldn’t know a Muslim from Jesus himself. Here’s a little hint for you. Refusing to support the continued murder of thousands of men women and children PER DAY over ownership of a tiny strip of land does not automatically make one a Muslim, although the argument could be made for it meaning that one is an Israeli.

  7. None of us peons would have heard about this gathering in DC if Ted Cruz hadn’t accepted the invitation and proclaimed his unpopular message there in front of them all. Maybe that was his goal. Just to draw the light into this den of snakes so we can get a little glimpse of what is really going on. I’m glad he did it!

  8. No matter what side you are on, or what you think… Y’all are talking about it today and Cruz’s participation brought the exposure of this organization. These people.

  9. I would NOT have said either “Thank you” or “God bless you” to that bunch of ingrates. We’re still too nice and too PC, and it keeps biting us in the behind.

  10. I’m still glad he went. He handled himself extremely well and they needed to hear what he had to say. People complain about giving this group exposure. Would you rather they do their dirty work in secret? We can’t beat back the forces of evil by pretending they don’t exist.

    • Doing their ‘dirty work’ in public is not to our advantage, when they shout down one of the legitimate, invited, speakers for America and Israel.
Fear and intimidation, and magnanimous monetary support for the Islamic state of murderers in our own country, our own government, and our own organizations is a detrimental act to America – any way you look at it.

      • How dare they expect a certain type of speaker at their gathering! They’ll take the speech we give ’em, and be happy. Or there’s no TV tonight.

      • Ok, so you’re saying they shouldn’t be allowed to operate in the US. Correct? But they are operating, and those who should do something about it haven’t. Before today, i never heard of this group. Now I have. Now I can ask my congressman why they’re allowed to work their evil in our country. Again, I don’t think information is a bad thing, and Senator Cruz certainly did not assist these snakes in their mission in any form. I do not see your point.

      • I understand your point, and I somewhat agree. My point is two-pronged:a) that to allow an evil group ‘free rein’ to grow and fester (if it is evil) is not something to be encouraged as a public event. To me, it would be like allowing weasels to wander into the chicken yard, so you’ll “know where they are”. b) Ted Cruz already gets a lot of bad press for his strong stands, and in a situation like this, the media will hammer him, and not the “group”.

As it turns out, the rude, hateful, ‘hecklers’ were not the majority (as usual) in this summit. Ted was right to do exactly what he did – call them out and refuse to stand with them. So, because of his strong stand, they are no longer welcome. IDC is a new group, and there are many popping up, due to the dire situation of our country in our recent history. A “mole” sent to do some reconnaissance would be a better way to ferret out their true intent, imo.

“A statement by IDC President Toufic Baaklini was posted to the group’s website after the event. “In this case,” Baaklini said, “a few politically motivated opportunists chose to divide a room that for more than 48 hours sought unity in opposing the shared threat of genocide, faced not only by our Christian brothers and sisters, but our Jewish
brothers and sisters and people of all other faiths and all people of good will.”

“He added: “Tonight’s injection of politics when the
focus should have been on unity and faith, momentarily played into the hands of a few who do not adhere to IDC’s principles. They were made no longer welcome.”

        Peace, Brother.

        http://www.mediaite.com/online/ted-cruz-heckled-off-stage-at-christian-event/

    • Wow……another christian group is doing dirty work in secret? And they’re evil? Dang, which group is the good one, you know, the non-evil group we should follow?

  11. Yeah… Calling a group of Christians “Pro-Islamist” because they don’t support murdering people over a strip of land is real classy. The simple truth is, Gaza should be evacuated and nuked til it’s glass. Israel and Palestine have been fighting over it for so long that the body count is unconscionable for either side and neither group deserves any support anymore. The only reason Cruz is in favor of Israel is because they buy weapons from the US to kill Palestinians with, and they’ll continue to do so because they’re better funded and he’s hoping to get some of that funding from them. Booing this warmongering prick offstage is an act of good taste.

  12. I am puzzled by so many responses to this post of Col. West’s. These are middle eastern Christians. Some of them support what Cruz was saying. Some of them loudly booed and jeered. Cruz’s attendance and effort to speak there was an important eye opener and an education to those who are unaware of the complexity of the political alliances and convoluted religious and political bonds in the ME. I became friends with an American, a Palestinian Christian and his family 30 years ago. I assumed that because he was Christian he would be pro-Israel, but I was mistaken. I support Israel’s right to exist, passionately and for many reasons, so we “agreed to disagree” and do not discuss it. His beloved home church, which stood in a village that became part of Israel and had been there for over a 1,000 years was bulldozed by the Israelis. All the Christians in his town had their houses burned down by the Israelis and they were forced out because his village was declared “for Jews only”. They immigrated to the US after losing everything at the hands of Israelis. He is now proudly American and continues to be very active in his church here, and he is very supportive of my son who is a SF soldier, currently deployed. He was devastated and enraged as all Americans were by 9/11. If this incident with Sen. Cruz has served to inform people that the many cultures and alliances forged in that region of the world are long standing and far more complex than they appear beyond first glance, then good. I’m all for shining the light on truth. Recognizing reality does not make one anti-semitic. I suspect this meeting was hijacked by the loudest. Hezbollah are our enemies. I will never forget what they did to our Marines in Beirut, nor what they did to William Buckley. If you are interested, read more here: http://www.commentarymagazine.com/2011/07/11/engaging-hezbollah-or-hezbollah-controlled-lebanon/

  13. What this incident illustrates is how effectively the neo-Communist Statists have infiltrated organized religions. This is why we see so many inane pronouncements coming out of formerly Christian religions like the UC (remember Jeremiah Wright) and some Catholic dioceses (remember Father Pfleger).

    • What are you talking about?
many of the world’s Christians hate Jews and they have for many centuries, long before communism.
Evangelical American Christians are very different from Christians in other parts of the world.

  14. Well, that was OBVIOUSLY not a pro-Christian conference, as real Christians support Israel–Christians are adoptive siblings to God’s chosen people, the Jews.

It’s no embarrassment for Senator Ted Cruz to be ‘booed off stage,’ in this incident. Rather, the audience exposed themselves as false Christians, and their conference as a farce.

A lesson learned by Senator Cruz. I think he’ll be more careful which engagements he accepts in the future.

    • You know, I would almost expect that kind of judgement from people long before they ever get elected to the US Senate, but he is from Texas, so maybe that’s just asking too much of a feller.

      • Yeah, you would. Progs don’t have the courage or the intellect to face a small group that doesn’t agree with them. Groupthink is all you folks understand. They don’t have Groupthink in Texas, that’s why the politicians down there get your panties in a twist.

      • Funny how you believe there can be “different kinds” of Christians. There is no such thing. There are only Christians and liars.

Anyone who does not read, believe, and FOLLOW God’s Word in the Bible is NOT a Christian. PERIOD. Doesn’t matter what they CALL themselves. They’re LYING.

The Bible says, in 1 John 4:19-21, “19We love because He first loved us. 20If anyone says, “I love God,” yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. 21And, He has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.”

In many places in the Bible, God says he will prosper those who love His people and will punish those who do not love His people (the Jews). Remember, Jesus, Himself, was a Jew.

Jesus said, in John 4:22, “You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews.”

Jesus also said, in Matthew 7:15-20, “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.”

      • Sorry but you’re wrong. There are many different sects of Christianity
Lutherans, Phlangists, Baptists, Mormons, Greek Orthodox, Coptic… and so on.

      • Those are called RELIGIONS, and are Man-made, so just as evil as Man’s nature. Jesus did NOT come to create any religion; He came to have a RELATIONSHIP with each of us.

A religion is not necessarily Christian, as their doctrines teach that, to get to Heaven, one must EARN their way through “good works.”

Jesus already DID everything necessary for everyone to go to Heaven. He died on the cross, in our stead. That’s why He said, “It is Finished.”

    • Talmud? I guess if you want to know what men say, read your Talmud. if you want to know what God says, read your Tanakh. Rabbinic Judaism is Pharisaism and an effort by a single group to control all others often times through contortions and great effort that is not what G*d intended. Understanding and keeping the ten teachings for example is meant to be simple (albeit not easy). Jews must return to the Torah (and Tanakh) alone and forget the bad theology of so many rabbis. Not all of the Talmud is wrong, but so much of it that it must be discarded as truth, while Torah (and Tanakh) is entirely G*d’s Word.

By the way, if you take time to REALLY study it (and also the New testament or Brit Hadashah), the Tanakh is entirely about Jesus. In the original Hebrew, even the middle word as in the “shamash” word (unspoken) in Genesis 1:1 speaks of Him (the ath – or aleph tav in Hebrew- read also Revelation 22:13 alpha omega in Greek). Read also what Rabbi

    • Read your Bible. It has nothing to do with what they believe (for many actually do believe in Jesus as Messiah), instead it has to do with what we as Christians are told to do.

I just don’t understand all this foolishness and hatred from so-called Christians. For all those who feel this way (hatred towards Jews, or Muslims for that matter), check your faith and values again because Jesus told us there will be many who claim to know Him to whom he will tell I do not know you.

      • I don’t hate Jews ,I’m not religious at all just know the story of judas and asking a question .seems if someone killed my god I wouldn’t go out of my way to protect them .anyways we have made them a nuclear power they don’t need our money anymore.

      • Then you don’t know my God. He taught and practiced self sacrifice, especially for those who wrong you. It’s easy to sacrifice for those you love you, what about for those who despise you? That is what Jesus taught and lived, unique in all history.

    • There are a lot of Jews that do believe in Jesus. But even so, the Bible is clear, those who harm the Jews will be punished. God’s plan is for the Jew first and then the Gentile. Read your Bible. All this was prophesied in many places in Scripture. The end is that Israel will be saved.

    • It’s amazing that there are so many opinions by so many uneducated bores on this topic. Israel is home to Christians, Hebrews and Muslims. If you hate Jews, get a clue. It’s the only democracy in the crappiest and violent place on earth that defends the rights of all three faiths to worship their God under the law.

    • I don’t care about their “religion”; They are a THOUSAND times better than the islamist/Muslim murderous arabs and palestinians.

    • Because they are a useful state for U.S. Middle East interests. And we have a pretty powerful pro-Israel lobby which buys senators by the bulk.

    • God gave the Jews the state of Israel. They were his chosen people. Yes, they blew it! But God forgives and he still loves them. I will not go against God.

  15. I think more Republicans need to go into the lions den and speak the truth like Cruz did here. If they did, the Republican party would be much better off for it. This includes going in to the black community and speaking the truth about how liberal policies have adversely impacted them. We don’t need symbolic or token appearances by the usual “politicians”, but down right honest carriers of the conservative message to show conservative values are inclusive of all freedom loving people. And Col. West, this seems like something you would do to get your message out to those that will listen without worrying about the blowback. Speaking to the same crowd gets old, being articulate in persuading others to come to your side is much more appealing and needed today.

  16. This seems to have been yet another Muslim group (practicing taqiya) pretending to be a Christian (or at least interfaith, as long as it didn’t include Jews) group to spread their hate.

Islam is poison for the soul.

  17. Poor Ted. I’d walk off the stage AFTER taking off my shoes & shaking off the “dust.” IF they’re Christian (I doubt that), they’ll get the reference, because they’re reprobates, & don’t deserve respect. SHAME on the LOT of them!

    • So, under this odd theory, the Clintons made Ted come to be a speaker at a christian conference? Those durn Clintons and their magic powers!

      • I believe she was referring to the lack of class on the part of clinton’s friends. The clintons have no magic or power.

  18. ‘Perhaps Cruz and his team should have noticed that “Funding for the conference was provided by Clinton donor and Lebanese-Nigerian billionaire Gilbert Chagoury, according to organizers.” Ya think? As in knowing the audience he was addressing? Wow, what a concept! This guy is just another incompetent teabilly.

  19. Been following Cruz for awhile and am in full support. Cruz is a man of God and a strong leader. I believe he probably knew what he was getting into and decided to go anyways. Cruz has a kind of courage and fearlessness that comes from his faith. Ted Cruz is a Guardian of this Nation’s values and a true Patriot. Critics should watch the video again and listen to Cruz’s bold words. God stands with Cruz because Cruz stands with Him, the King of Kings. I stand with Cruz. To those who would wish to attack my post, God Bless.

      • I think you are a mocker. “In the last days there will be mockers.” It is very possible and probable for a lover of our Lord, Jesus Christ, to hear from God on specific things. I have. It is a dangerous thing to be a mocker.

  20. Great americans showing they will not tolerate the bigotry and hate spewed by people like Ted Cruz and Allen (buy my tee shirts) west!

  21. Funny that the same people commenting here that the anti-Israel Christians in this video aren’t real Christians …are some of the same people who mock moderate muslims who say terrorists aren’t real muslims

  22. Well it doesn’t take much time reading this comments section to realize that trolls do like to target Mr West’s page. Go ahead trolls. Keep it up. You are revealing yourselves nicely. We can see through your BS. I support Ted Cruz and Israel 100 percent.

  23. Senator Cruz is not a stupid man. I think he went to that meeting knowing he might get an unfavorable response. he went because he has enough courage to tell the truth anytime, anywhere.

  24. Janus, if we fail to support ISREAL, we will be doomed the same as every single Nation that has failed to support ISREAL for the last 2050 years. If you are studied in your Bible, you should be very concerned.

  25. Actually less than 2% of world Christians believe the Rapture/end times/Israel has to build the Temple so Jesus can return narrative. Not the Catholics, the mainline Protestant churches, the Angljcans, Eastern, Russian and Greek orthodox churches. It’s heresy, false teaching, serious error, blasphemy… That belief is pecular to the USA evangelists in the South, with roots in Pentacostal and Assembly of God churches, those that teach prosperity gospel, name it and claim it, Kingdom Now, Bible prophecy is being fulfilled right now, etc. They are WAY over-represented on Christian television ( I guess promising people healing, riches, being popular, saving marriages, losing weight, IF YOU JUST KEEP THOSE LOVE GIFTS COMING is the best model for making enough money to pay the TV time) While many of the Tea Party people have been deceived by this false religious teaching, Cruz being booed for bringing up the “Israel is always right”: dogma is an amusing show of how clueless his world-view is, and even his knowlege of mainline Christianity.

    • I don’t know where you get your stats, but you are way off. FIRST, the doctrine of the Rapture, belief in the “end times” and the temple being rebuilt are NOT in any way the same thing. Biblical Christians believe an end times doctrine, though how it all comes about varies some from group to group. The basic ideas are well presented in the Bible and not hard to grasp even for children, so most believers are in agreement there. But people speculate about some of the less important ideas. For example: there are those who reject the Rapture, but believe the temple will be rebuilt. SECOND, if you’re saying you that you don’t believe any end time doctrine (i.e. that Jesus will return to earth to get His followers, and a few other basics), then YOU would be the heretic to virtually all Bible believing Christians because you have rejected a clear teaching of the Bible. This is not some “niche” doctrine held by a few on the fringes. THIRD, you seem to have missed that the largest denomination in the US teaches the Rapture, and it’s not Pentecostal, it’s the Southern Baptist church. Study up and you’ll see this is not nearly as “fringe” as you claim. P.S. I am not a “Rapture” guy, but I do fully believe that Jesus will be coming to get me and all other believers at some unknown time. The Bible teaches, and history bears out, that God really does bless those who bless Israel, and curse those who curse Israel. You don’t even have to believe the Bible on that one–just be intellectually honest as you look at the various conflicts with Israel and how they turned out. It’s not just the US that “usually” defends Israel. It’s so much more than that!

  26. Ted Cruz did his homework. He knew that he was venturing into the “snake pit” when he accepted that invitation to be a keynote speaker at the Conference. This guy knows how to make a Biblical stand for Israel and then “let God”. Ted Cruz is the real thing. He does not only talk the Conservative talk … he also walks the walk.

Cruz: Standing for Israel was right thing to do
    September 23, 2014

” …. I didn’t want to cede the discussion to the extremes. If we simply stay away and allow those who are defending radical Islamic terrorist groups to dominate the conversation, I don’t think that’s the right thing to do.”
