Kerry: Bible commands us to fight climate change (particularly in Muslim countries) [VIDEO]

Bear with me for a moment. It’s college football Saturday and there are some really big games which will have national implications. The State of Michigan will see the Wolverines and Spartans line up against two formidable foes, Notre Dame and Oregon respectively, and they travel to both venues. As well, out west there’s another pretty big game between USC (the other one, Southern California, not South Carolina) and Stanford. And up in the ‘Shoe, Ohio State will face the challenge of the Hokies from Virginia Tech. My own Tennessee Volunteers have Arkansas State coming to Knoxville — before they’ll have to travel to Norman Oklahoma to face the top five rated Oklahoma Sooners. And Kansas State will have to take on Iowa State whom they should not take for granted at all.

Now, why did I start off talking about the major college football lineups today? Because I need something to calm me down as I tell you about this little tidbit.

As reported by CNS News, “At a ceremony Wednesday honoring Shaarik Zafar, who was just appointed to serve as the State Department’s Special Representative to Muslim Communities, Secretary of State John Kerry said “confronting climate change” is “a duty or responsibility laid down in scriptures.” “Confronting climate change is, in the long run, one of the greatest challenges that we face, and you can see this duty or responsibility laid down in scriptures, clearly, beginning in Genesis,” Kerry claimed.

Ok, trying to take a deep breath.

First of all, why do we need a Special Representative to Muslim Communities? Congress simply must not fund this newly-created position — why is the State Department concerned about Muslim communities? So do we need a special representative to Hindu, Sikh or Buddhist communities? Maybe Yazidi communities need a state department representative?

Where do these people come from? At a time when Christians are being slaughtered, I find it astounding that Kerry — and indeed the progressive socialists — are more focused on fighting climate change because they believe God said so? What a bunch of political hypocrites.

I’m so glad it’s college football season or else I’d just have to run all day long to relieve the tension.

Check out what Scary Kerry stated, “Our fates are inextricably linked on any number of things that we must confront and deal with in policy concepts today. Our fates are inextricably linked on the environment. For many of us, respect for God’s creation also translates into a duty to protect and sustain His first creation: Earth, the planet. Before God created man, He created Heavens and Earth.”

Kerry also stated that “Muslim-majority countries are among the most vulnerable” when it comes to the impact of climate change. So we canceled our space program so we could do more for Muslim countries in educating them on space exploration and technology. Now we need to protect “Muslim-majority” countries from the dangers of climate change?

What about protecting Jews and Christians from the onslaught of Islamo-fascism and jihadism as Islamic terrorism proliferates? Nah, that’s just too hard and doesn’t fit the progressive socialist ideology.

Folks, enjoy football today and this weekend — my Atlanta Falcons take on the New Orleans Saints — because if we don’t have something take our minds off them, these progressives will make us lose them. One thing is for sure, the progressive leftists know how to “punt away” the real problems and fumble all over the field.

Since Russell Crowe & the person who produced “NOAH” are NOT who we worship, nor do we worship John Kerry, we Must Disobey this blasphemy!! He did not give any chapter or verse that mentions Global Warming. Nor does the Bible mention that we must help Muslims who are MURDERING & BEHEADING innocent Christians & Jews!! They are DISOBEYING the 10 COMMANDMENTS!! They are destroying places of worship where the Word of God is revered and obeyed!!

I just wanted to underline how dumb Kerry actually is/ It is a bit weird for me to see that you have taken my comment as seriously as Kerry taken “Noah” for actual depiction of the Bible while in fact it is nothing more than depiction of Gnostic heresies.

ooh, sorry Col. West, I picked the Saints to win over the Falcons …. 😉
all joking aside, I really would have appreciated the chapter and verses in Genesis where God commanded Adam to be vigilant with global warming … Mr Kerry must be using a real doozy of a translation of the Bible (The New World Order bible perhaps?)

kerry is a kool aid swilling liberal progressive Socialist Communist Utopian Marxist–SCUM. He is all in with anything that degrades the superiority of the US and makes them more equal to third world cesspools. Even after banging my head off the brick wall of the basement, I cannot find anywhere in the Bible that we are to fight climate change. Then again I was not reading the New SCUM version.

America is truly in deep trouble. We have a rogue, renegade President who ignores the Constitution, an Attorney General that will send 40 FBI agents to Ferguson, a long with dozens of Civil Rights Attorney’s focused on “teaching the white police force who is boss, but will not investigate dereliction of duty and possible criminal abuse of power in the IRS! And now we have a Secretary of State who has failed to successfully negotiate an agreement with Iran, Israel, Hamas, Russia, and on and on…Oh, and also says GOD would want us to protect the Arab countries from Climate… Read more »

“why do we need a Special Representative to Muslim Communities?” Because evil men like Mr. West believe that all Muslims are enemies of the United States, that they should be denied their civil rights and constitutional protections, some, on this very board, have advocated they all be killed, or at least deported. Never once has Mr. West stepped in to shut down those calling for genocide or a religious war. We need a special representative to the Muslims for the same reason we needed a special representative to the Black communities when evil men threatened their civil rights, and sought… Read more »

I would pay good money to see the above commenter pose that argument to the Good Colonel in person just to see him grind the argument into dust. Islam is not just a religion, it is a whole life belief system that incorporates the legal, moral, and economic together with the spiritual in emulating the life of what they perceive to be the perfect man. Unfortunately, it is a toxic and totalitarian system that is enforced by the sword. John Adams made the observation two hundred years ago, just as Winston Churchill did one hundred years ago – nothing has… Read more »

Seven percent of Islam is radicalized. 93-percent of 1.6 billion practitioners feel free to disagree, to debate, to argue among themselves. They practice their faith every day, study it every day, and reach conclusions entirely separate from those you post. Your claims are fiction, pulled from the hate-filled rhetoric of evil men with hate in their hearts, who have never truly studied Islam. Ask yourself, how did you come to hate Islam? Did you read about Islam with an open mind, digging into their scripture and seeking out a non-radicalized cleric, or did you read a handful of quotes from… Read more »

We need to get a few things straight. Americans are woefully unaware of history, and you’re obviously one who suffers from that problem. I agree with you when you say that there are Muslims in the world who are peace loving – I was married to a Muslim – but you need to familiarize yourself with the history of the religion. (I was forced by my in-laws to study Islam, so I have a pretty good grasp of the history.) Do you know who Mohammed was? He was a man who lived in Mecca and married a much older widow… Read more »

I glanced over this: “You say in one breath that Islamists should not be judged by the actions of the Islamo-Fascists, and turn around in the next breath and tell us that Christians should be judged based upon the actions of the KKK. Give me a break.” You missed my point. The KKK is to Christianity as ISIS is to Islam. That is intended to convey the Christianity is not responsible for the KKK just as Islam is not responsible for ISIS. The KKK takes a peace-loving religion and turns it on its head and uses excerpts from the Bible… Read more »

Those few radical morons in the KKK killed some 4000 Americans by lynching, alone, and an unknown number more through bombings, shootings and others means of murder, not to mention the mayhem. I’m familiar with your rendition of Mohammed. Would you like to hear the Mormon’s version of the Catholic Church? Perhaps the version of Judaism others offer? We can all poke fun of religion and their origins. In other words, I’m not impressed. 93-percent of Muslims are peace loving and already leading the lives you saw them moving towards in the 70’s. People on this board have, at various… Read more »

Whether you’re impressed or not, history is history. Also, in regard to the KKK, we’re not talking about events of 100 years ago, we’re talking about threats to our safety right now. The KKK is ridiculous, and possibly dangerous on a very small scale, but not a world-wide threat to the lives and lifestyles of others the way that ISIS is currently a threat. People should never judge others based only on their race or religious beliefs, but I can understand the fear that is being generated by the atrocities that are being committed. The problem could be greatly reduced… Read more »

Yes, that is history. It is not a hate attack, it is a fact. The history of Islam is drenched in blood, just as the history of many other religions and cultures are violent and hateful at times. Unfortunately, Islam is, without a doubt, one of the most violent. You don’t see too many Buddhists or Christians or Jews going around blowing themselves up. The problem is that governments become involved in religions and push people to commit atrocities by convincing them that it is a holy duty. Islam is not only a religion, it is a religion AND a… Read more »

If you see very little condemnation, then you haven’t been paying attention.

Less than five seconds on Google:

http://www.startribune.com/local/yourvoices/273886931.html

From 4 days ago.

BTW: The total number of Americans killed by American Christian Terrorists is still larger than the number of Americans killed Radical Islamist Terrorists, even if you speciously include the Saudi attack on the US on 9/11.

Read more about what West thinks of Islam and what should happen with American Muslims. If you’re half the man I suspect you are, you’ll be shocked.

I will read these, and I am happy to see that some Muslims are condemning what is going on all over the world. Good for them! You might note, though, that the only condemn the murder of ‘civilians’ and say nothing about the constant war that is being waged by Islam all over the world. Also, they only mention ISIS, but they neglect to mention Boko Haram, Al Qaeda, Hammas, and the other radicalized groups. This is true of both articles Two questions, though; 1. What is a ‘Christian terrorist’, and 2. What makes you think I’m a man?

I’m old school. In the absence of a known gender I default to the masculine.

Those stories were about ISIS, search for the others, you’ll find similar condemnations.

Get out of the bubble.

Republicans are going to carry the day in the Mid-Terms, but we could win so much more if we weren’t so burdened.

I find the bubble comment condescending. You might be surprised just how many conservatives are not extremists. I’m conservative Christian, and I’m a woman. But I used to be married to a Muslim. He abused both me and our children. I saw a lot of abuse, particularly of the women in other families in their circle of friends. My in-laws lectured me all the time about how there would be enough Muslims in the US by 2010 to elect a Muslim President and overthrow the corrupt white, Christian regime. These were Muslims who were born here and lived here in… Read more »

You may not have lived in the bubble before (and I’m sorry for what you suffered), but that you didn’t know that mainstream Muslims oppose radicalism, that they were the ones fighting in the hot war with ISIS, and that Christian Terrorism is a real threat to the US suggests, very strongly, that you don’t get out, intellectually, very often.

I’m a mainstream Conservative Catholic, BTW.

Don’t be sorry for me. Everything happens for a reason in our lives. I know that Muslims are fighting against Muslims. Where did I say that they weren’t? I also know that there are good and bad people in every religion, race, sex, and walk of life. But I am also aware of the incredible danger that is posed by the Islamo-Fascists, and I know that they live in this country. I have met some of them. I’m with you Colonel West, but for slightly different reasons. Climate change is natural and constant only it takes place so slowly over thousands and thousands of years that the species of plants and animals hardly realize that that the Earth is changing. I was actually teaching in a Georgia public school system during the 1990’s in an Earth science magnet. We traveled all over the state to take advantage of the opportunities to observe natural phenomena like Stone Mountain. I didn’t hear a single person make a presentation to our students that indicated that anything currently happening was attributable… Read more »

I am not aware of what HAARP is, but it scares me to death that these fools believe that they should even try to do anything like this. They don’t even have the technology that is big enough for them to write a computer model that they could enter all the data they need into even if they had the right data. Furthermore, the long history of the Earth reveals that CO2 follows the rise in temperatures which would eliminate the causal element. CO2 increases as the planet gradually becomes warmer after glacial periods. The increased warmth leads to increased… Read more »

I would recommend you take up a cause worth taking, like the moral decay in the USA, or the persecution and murder of non-muslims in the Mideast, and not sweat wild incoherent theories over the non-existent threat of AGW, which do nothing to further the cause of rational, thoughtful human understanding.

This is the same John Kerry who designated a convicted child molester as his daughter’s godfather. Peter Yarrow, of Peter Paul and Mary, back in 1970 got a 13-yr-old girl high on pot and seduced her into, shall we say, puff on his “magic dragon”. He pleaded guilty to “taking indecent liberties” with a minor and was eventually pardoned by Jimmah Carter (no surprise here). A, no pun intended, minor point, but little things mean a lot. If Kerry used such piss-poor judgment in naming a godfather for his own flesh-and-blood little girl, what does this say about his competence… Read more »

And why is it that with rare exception, the environmental movement is so overwhelmingly lily White? Oh, sure every now and then there’s an episode of Nat Geo in central Africa showing natives saving elephants, rhinos or the endangered species du jure, but let’s get real, when was the last time a Brother saved a whale? Some specific scriptures please Mr. Kerry. I’ve read the book of Genesis many times, and I don’t recall every reading where we are to control climate change. But I did read where it says:Gen 8:22

Cold and heat, Winter and summer,
And day and night Shall not cease.”
