Well, it’s back to school time and some school districts will be dealing with something really challenging — forcible enrollment of tens of thousands of illegal immigrants.
Let me give you an anecdotal story. Our former Chinese exchange student Lin, is off to start her freshman year at the University of Indiana, Bloomington. She will be majoring in International Business. It seems that the West women truly enjoyed the experience of having an exchange student, so on Thursday we picked up our second Chinese exchange student, Julie, who will be a freshman in High School where Austen is a senior this year. On Friday our mission was to get Julie “squared away” and that included her updated immunization records. She is not allowed entry until her records reflect and satisfy school officials.
However, that’s not the case for these illegal immigrant children being forced upon our American school districts – and even worse, forced on our children.
According to Breitbart, ” The Department of Education released a fact sheet earlier this week about the availability of public school education for undocumented immigrant children — specifically the tens of thousands unaccompanied minors who have recently entered the U.S. illegally.”
The Department of Education has prepared a fact sheet laying out the basics about the undocumented immigrant children’s rights and what communities can do to help with enrollment.
“All children in the United States are entitled to equal access to a public elementary and secondary education, regardless of their or their parents’ actual or perceived national origin, citizenship, or immigration status,” the fact sheet explains. “This includes recently arrived unaccompanied children, who are in immigration proceedings while residing in local communities with a parent, family member, or other appropriate adult sponsor.”
I read this to say that this Obama government cares very little about YOUR children and will sacrifice them for their own political and ideological purposes. This is insane and absolutely will not stem the tide of more illegal alien children — already more than 62,900 unaccompanied minors have been detained illegally entering the U.S. since October, the vast majority
Parents, I recommend you read the entire fact sheet from the Department of Education. Here is an excerpt:
Under the law, the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is required to provide for the care and custody of unaccompanied children apprehended while crossing the border. While in care at a temporary shelter, such children are not enrolled in local schools but do receive educational services and other care from HHS providers who run temporary shelters.
Recently arrived unaccompanied children are later released from federal custody to an appropriate sponsor – usually a parent, relative, or family friend – who can safely and appropriately care for them while their immigration cases proceed. While residing with a sponsor, these children have a right under federal law to enroll in public elementary and secondary schools in their local communities and to benefit from educational services, as do all children in the U.S.
As you’re out purchasing school supplies for your children just know, you’ll be the one paying for these almost 70,000 illegal alien children — and how many of them have gang associations?
And please, read the US Constitution, Article I, Section 8, Clause 4 — To establish a uniform rule of naturalization, and uniform laws on the subject of bankruptcies throughout the United States—which articulates that only the U.S. Congress can make rules on naturalization. That is an enumerated right and responsibility of the Congress, the legislative branch, not the executive branch. So, please parents, regardless of your political party affiliation, understand this Obama administration is putting your children at risk.
And if Obama decides to grant worker rights status by Executive Order to some 5 million illegal immigrants, he is mocking and disrespecting Americans who have been out of work — as a result of his failed policies. And again, it is not within his purview to do such!
