My thoughts on Ferguson, Missouri

In case you’re wondering what I think about the events unfolding in Ferguson, Missouri, well, I wasn’t there — and I’m not investigating the case.

But the incessant riots and looting needs to stop. There is no better way to lose the “moral high ground” than with rioting, looting and incitement to violence by New Black Panthers — I suppose they live by the Rahm Emanuel premise of “never let a good crisis go to waste.”

And the last thing needed is for the usual suspect, Al Sharpton, to show up and enflame the situation — guess there’s some financial benefit there for him.

As for the release of the information on the police officer, the alleged shooter, ask yourself, with a riotous mob and the liberal media, would you want to have your family exposed to attacks of retribution? Unless the officer and his family are placed in protective custody, his name should not be released. Remember the mistaken couple in Sanford, Florida of whom Spike Lee posted their personal information and address?

There will be a coroner’s report and an investigation — but those results and the pain, agony and loss of another young black man will be drowned out by the violent opportunists.

      • Just found out that the name and pic on Facebook was wrong. The actual officer involved would have had noticeable bruises and swelling on his face.

    • only sellout uncle toms listen to a retard like this flaming fag allen west…he is so far disconnected from his people its not even funny..sellout ass nigga.

      • Why do you hate him so much? Why is he a sell out? Because he said that the rioting ,violence etc needs to stop? It’s like shooting your self in the foot. (no pun intended). The people in that area probably depended on those stores. Now they are gone and they are blaming everyone else except those who went crazy and trashed them. My son is in prison . He was wrongly convicted. A set up. Believe me. I didn’t go there and trash ,burn ,loot everything in site.Really, please explain. I don’t see the connection between the killing and the violence that is continuing. How do they expect people to listen to their opinion when they condone what is happening there?

  1. I can’t imagine the pain Michael Brown’s mother & family must feel and I hope the truth comes out – not a coverup, but the absolute truth. Policeman all over the nation are far too quick to use their weapon to kill – whether it be against a HUMAN BEING or somebody’s pet.
Shame on the people using this tragedy as an excuse to steal and destroy. There is no excuse for that.

    • Really? “far too quick to use their weapons to kill” A little research proves otherwise.

      in NYC alone if you look at 2012 discharge report;

      New York City Population 8,244,910
NYPD Average Annual Uniformed Staffing 34,920
      Total Civilian Contacts (Approximate) 23,000,000
      Total Radio Assignments 4,835,484
      Radio Assignments Involving Weapons 246,621
      Arrests Involving Weapons Used/Displayed/Possessed 26,019
      Gun Arrests 5,689
      Criminal Shooting Incidents 1,374

      Adversarial Conflict:
      Total Number of Officers Who
      Intentionally Fired 60
Total Number of Firearms Discharge Incidents 45
      Subjects Shot and Injured 14
      Subjects Shot and Killed 16
      Officers Shot and Injured 13
      Officers Shot and Killed 0

On average most police officers are highly trained and show great restraint in a job that is one of the most dangerous in the world.

      • Since 911 till today over 5,000.00 American people have been killed by police. The riot was cause by the killing, the ending of a human life.

      • Riots are no way to voice opposition. It’s just stupid and results in more hatred and casualties

      • What a meaingless statistic; since 2001 over 34,000 blacks were murdered. 96% of those by other blacks. When 10 % of the population experiences 6x the murder rate and it’s at their own hands. The shooting by law enforcement in an isolated incident is hardly on the same level.

In the year after Trayvon Martin’s death there were roughly 6,200 deaths of blacks by other blacks. How many riots where there over those men?

        Where was your concience then?

Unitl you value every loss of life equally; Im going to call you a hypocrite.

If you make death threats against the officer responsible without knowing the facts of the case; I’m going to call you a hypocrite.

If you feel destroying your own neighborhood; attacking or shooting another innocent civilian is acceptable; I’m just going to call you ignorant.

    • I spent some time in the military and always feared the newly minted security police because they were itching to shoot someone. I always acted calmly and in complete compliance with their orders. The is a time to voice opposition to the police but not in contact with an officer in the heat of t he moment. Gets you shot. Right or wrong your still dead.

  2. Is a black person’s life valuable ONLY if a white person or police kill them? Where’s the looting and riots over the hundreds that are killed black on black. Come on, let’s have some equal time. If I were those business owners I would close my doors and go elsewhere. I am very sorry for the pain that the family must be experiencing.

    • only sellout uncle toms listen to a retard like this flaming fag allen west…he is so far disconnected from his people its not even funny..sellout ass nigga

  3. Except to add that the loss of one of our children is always a tragic thing, I will join people of good will across the land with a hearty, “Amen, Col. West!”

  4. Not even the greenest police officer fires (let alone multiple times) at
a person without reason. The community’s reaction was premature and
highly counter-productive. Until the full circumstances of this case
are known, outrage (except towards the rioters, looters and race pimps)
    is unwarranted.

    • That’s border line bullshit yes they always have a reason. ” and at that time I feared for my safety”. They are trained to shot multiple times. Not well trained as every cop shooting has multiple shoots usually by multiple officers and the dead person is hit by 2-3 rounds.Ever wonder were the rest of the shots end up??

      • You have an overactive imagination, most likely fueled by Hollywood’s fantasies. Relatively few instances involve “…multiple shoots usually by multiple officers and the dead person is hit by 2-3 rounds.” Such instances are the exception to the norm, and are usually the result of an extended stand-off with an armed suspect..

It will be interesting to see a report on Brown’s background.

  5. Yes, rioting & looting are beyond the pale, and result in losing the moral high ground. Absolutely, 100%. That being said, the police are now terrorizing civilians all over this country. They can shoot you, shoot your dog, shoot your family with seeming impunity. If they stop you, you are completely at their mercy, and they have repeatedly demonstrated disregard and disdain for the rights of the people whom they are supposed to serve. Their brethren and superiors more often than not cover up for them or make excuses, and if an investigation is started they are suspended with pay. How about suspending them WITHOUT pay?
I know many of you won’t agree, but I think publishing the cop’s identity is a good thing – let them suffer some of the terror they regularly visit upon the citizens and see how quickly things change.

  6. I saw peaceful people standing in the street with their arms up in the air.
I saw St. Louis county police fire rubber bullets and tear gas at them.
    That’s not right.

    • I believe after they were told to go home or disperse. I know, I know, they have a right to protest but given the atmosphere, if the group were to get bigger and bigger, it’s entirely possible that it could become something else. I really think everyone needs to stay home and let the investigators do their thing. Just sayin.

    • I don’t believe that,,, there are pockets of racism all over the US,,,
this crap has been going on for a long time,,
I would love to say it’s just in the good ol’ south,,,but it’s not..
why does a piss-ant town need tactical equipment? high end gunz and
armored vehicles like that? Why does that street look like a scene from
I have NYPD in my family,, most cops are good,,,but some get a badge and
a gun and think who the fk they are…
You throw in a culture and history of racism and bigotry and this is what you get,,,, I abhor the looting and trashing public property,,and surely don’t condone it,,,but there are always a few in any protest the start that crap,,
the govt, isn’t starting anything that isn’t already ingrained into some peoples culture….

      • no,,, after 9/11 dept. of homeland sec. and the Fed made available to police depts, all kinds of military grade crap..
In some no-nothing town in SC the PD brought a armored
vehicle w/ a 50 cal machine gun mounted on top,,,
what do they need that for?????
it’s all these GI Joe wanna be’s, who feel they “need” this stuff

      • “what do they need that for?????”

I still say the ultimate goal is to start a war, any way they can get it to declare martial law and say Bubye to the Constitution once and for all.

      • I forget when I come hear,, that I’m talking to people who
believe that Obama is going declare martial law,,and burn
bibles,, and everyone will get a new prayer rug,,blah,,blah, blah
        me bad,,,

      • Under a federal program, local police departments like the St. Louis County Police in Ferguson, Missouri are arming themselves with tactical military gear that they obtain for free from the Pentagon.

In response to what was seen in the 90s as a mushrooming threat of inner city gang violence fueled by the narcotics trade, wrote Newsweek‘s Taylor Wofford, “the 101st Congress in 1990 enacted the National Defense Authorization Act. Section 1208 of the NDAA allowed the Secretary of Defense to “transfer to Federal and State agencies personal property of the Department of Defense, including small arms and ammunition, that the Secretary determines is— (A) suitable for use by such agencies in counter-drug activities; and (B) excess to the needs of the Department of Defense.” It was called the 1208 Program. In 1996, Congress replaced Section 1208 with Section 1033.”

  7. Mr. West, the out-of-control riots have stopped. The peaceful protestors and reporters have been attacked by the police with rubber bullets, flash bangs, and tear gas – ordered to “turn off your cameras.” This didn’t even happen in the 90s at the LA Riots. Nor would our military act like this in Iraq. This is becoming police vs. the people. Do you support the 1st Amendment or the police state? Please report the truth.

“Missouri state Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal confronted Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson during a press conference Wednesday, asking why she was tear-gassed during a nonviolent protest.”

    • Not condoning the police’s actions at all, but the tensions are high due to the riots. Things might be a lot different if the stupid riots never happened. Just sayin’.

      • Our military wouldn’t act like this in Iraq. My husband is a veteran and he was astonished at how the police are acting. I suggest you look at the links I posted because these were obviously reporters reporting on the situation – why would they react to the press like that?

  8. Our liberty depends on the freedom of the press, and that cannot be limited without being lost.
Thomas Jefferson, letter to Dr. James Currie, 28, January 1786

  9. Jet-black rifles leveled at unarmed citizens and mine-resistant vehicles once used to patrol the roadways of Iraq and Afghanistan rumbling through small town America.

For veterans of the wars that the Ferguson protests so closely resemble, the police response has appeared to be not only heavy-handed but out of step with the most effective ways for both law enforcement and military personnel to respond to demonstrations.

“You see the police are standing online with bulletproof vests and rifles pointed at peoples chests,” said Jason Fritz, a former Army officer and an international policing operations analyst. “That’s not controlling the crowd, that’s intimidating them.”

Scriven King, a 10-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force’s law enforcement component and a SWAT officer, attributed the initial spasm of violence to a lack of leadership and mismanagement of public perception on the Ferguson Police Department’s behalf.
“The first thing that went wrong was when the police showed up with K-9 units,” Scriven said. “The dogs played on racist imagery…it played the situation up and [the department] wasn’t cognizant of the imagery.”

King added that, instead of de-escalating the situation on the second day, the police responded with armored vehicles and SWAT officers clad in bulletproof vests and military-grade rifles.

  10. I do not understand why people are looting and rioting because of something that MIGHT happen. Right or wrong should not be about color or circumstances and looting innocent people is wrong.

  11. Sorry Colonel riots don’t overshadow the shooting. A few broken windows don’t trump an apparent murder. All the rioters and looters arrested had their mugshot and names released. The family of the deceased is not hiding. They already had one loss of life don’t they have anything to fear? Sooner or later the cop will have to come out of the shadows. The longer they keep him hidden the more they risk someone been mistaken for him or for the information to leak. If it’s leaked the mob will be one step ahead and it will be harder to protect the officer’s family. I think they are making a mistake. The longer they keep him hidden the worse it looks. Family of the deceased requested Al Sharpton to be there.

    • as with any protest,, there always will be a few idiots who want to destroy
property, and reek mayhem,, I think most of the people just want to exercise
their right to peaceful protest,,,and don’t appreciate war outfitted police pointed
      high powered weapons at them,,,,

      • Police are pointing guns at peaceful protestors and arresting journalists without charge. When do they start losing their “moral high-gound”?

      • And the shooting had nothing to do with lighting the powder keg? Your hypocrisy is getting repulsing and obscene. The journalists where only doing their job.

      • The fact that you think it is OK to justify rioting and looting with the shooting says all anyone knows needs to know about you.

    • The best witness to this tragic incident is the victim of the shooting, and he is dead. The next best witness is the cop. There are several other witnesses and others that claim to be witnesses. So the fact is that very few people really know what happened. There is NO justification for vandalizing, looting and rioting. Only those with ill intent and a criminal agenda would partake in such uncivilized activity. And if you and other members of the community think it’s OK, then that says a lot about your character and mentality. You obviously have a warped sense of civility and justice. I understand that in your community there is great mistrust of the police. But we must let all facets of the investigation take place. This will involve input from witnesses as well as the police and a separate investigation by the FBI. It will take some time, but hopefully the truth will come out at the end. And the reason the name of the officer involved is not being made public at this time is for his and his family’s protection. There are people, including The New Black Panthers that would kill him. No-one is trying to hide the officer from justice. But they are trying to protect him from criminal and hateful street justice. Is that what you want, Rafael X? The cop’s name at this time is irrelevant anyway. What difference would it make if it’s Joe Blow or John Jones? Certain people only want to know who he is so they can do him or his family harm. His name will come out in due time when it is appropriate during the investigation or in court procedures. We must let due process take place. I feel confident that with all of the input from witnesses, investigations by the police and Department of Justice (FBI), vigilance of social activists and peaceful protests and demonstrations from the community…the truth will be known.

      • The next best witness is in hiding. And everytime I talk about the dead kid there’s someone to change the subject and talk about riots and looting. I guess you have to talk about something since you can’t make that kid into the thug you wish he was. Sooner or later he will have to come out of the darkness.

      • It seems to me that you want the cops name so one of the death threats could come true. Protest peacefully, but acting like thugs looting and destroying property just makes you a criminal. The store owners are innocent. Some people just want to steal and destroy things.

      • I want the cops name released because American justice doesn’t happen in the dark. The mother deserves to know who shot her son. Justified or not.

      • I guess you didn’t read or understand much of what I said about naming or not naming the cop. It will come out when the time is proper…during the investigation and in court if necessary. With the cop’s life being threatened, this is not the time.

      • It might come out sooner rather then later. It might come out from a source authorities have no control over. Wrong person was fingered twice already. People, journalists won’t stop digging just because they are told to. That is also a risk to consider. thank you for being candid.

      • So 2 people lives have been put into jeopardy. Remember Spike Lee putting out the wrong couples address. When the time is right it will be released. There are too many people who jobs rely on racial divides to put the name out and jeopardize his life and the life of his family as always happens in these cases. I also would like to know where the outrage is with all the killing of innocent black children in Chicago !!!!

      • I don’t see what Chigago gang murders have to do with a sworn officer shooting a kid with no criminal record 8 times when said kid is 35 feet away from his squad car. In Fergusson Missouri. There will always be people who’s job is to exploit racial divide. Not an excuse for this coward to stay in the shadows. I’m sure that coward is thanking god for every day the riots continue. Gives him and excuse to stay in the shadows.

      • Oh , I forgot that’s how the left always addresses the kids being killed in Chicago. it’s gang related so we’ll ignore it. Better to have a cop killed than to keep his name under wraps until the investigation is over. Supposedly the peoples’ right to know. He’s was doing his job, you or I don’t know what really happened until everything is investigated. I don’t think he is a coward because he put his life on the line every time he went to work protecting people like you in Ferguson. With the federal government involved and Eric Holder involved I’m sure if the cop was wrong he will end up in prison for the rest of his life.
The truth will win out in the end.

      • It’s gang related and so the police are on it. It’s not the left talking to you but a father of a kid that looks like the one that got killed. If the shooting is justified what is he afraid of? He’s innocent until proven guilty but you are ready to indict whoever might or might not kill him. He was wearing the uniform he has no reason to hide from the law. Unless he’s a coward.

      • Because of people like you he should be afraid !!!!! When you are in his shoes you can talk about him being a coward !!!!

      • I’m trying to be unbiased and objective. The main point I’m trying to make is that looting, vandalizing and rioting is not called for and is not acceptable. It only hurts innocent people. And I sure as heck am not changing the subject. A young man was shot and killed by a police officer. That is sad and that is tragic. And yes, it is upsetting and angering. And the young man’s past, good or bad, doesn’t matter to me one way or the other. The only thing that matters is what the hell happened that an unarmed kid was shot dead. Yeah, I’m angry too. But again, I’m willing to let due process take place. And by the way, the news reports I’ve seen have shown an overly intimidating, abusive police response to even peaceful protests. If that’s normal in that community, it’s no wonder that people are distrusting and disliking of the police.

      • I couldn’t agree more about the looting or rioting. Just hurts people who had nothing to do with anything. You also have to agree that officer needs to speak up. Him or his lawyers will eventually have to tell his side of the story. Due process means out in the open.

      • You know, I really believe we both want the same thing…JUSTICE. Our points of view are just a little different. I just hope and pray that no-one else is hurt, or God forbid killed, until justice prevails.

    • A few broken windows? Seriously? Entire businesses have been destroyed, completely looted by lowlifes looking for any excuse to steal. Here’s a clue. Don’t try to take a cop’s gun when you’ve been arrested. If he had pumped a dozen shots into the cop it would barely have made a ripple in the news. Eric Holder, if anything would have decried the shooter shouldn’t be charged because he was a poor misunderstood child, as all these punks are.

  12. Facts About America’s Militarized Police Forces
The militarization of police is harming civil liberties, impacting children, and transforming neighborhoods into war zones.

A recent New York Times article by Matt Apuzzo reported that in the Obama era, “police departments have received tens of thousands of machine guns; nearly 200,000 ammunition magazines; thousands of pieces of camouflage and night-vision equipment; and hundreds of silencers, armored cars and aircraft.” The result is that police agencies around the nation possess military-grade equipment, turning officers who are supposed to fight crime and protect communities into what look like invading forces from an army. And military-style police raids have increased in recent years, with one count putting the number at 80,000 such raids last year.

In June, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) brought more attention to police militarization when it issued a comprehensive, nearly 100-page (appendix and endnotes included) report titled, “War Comes Home: The Excessive Militarization of American Policing.” Based on public records requests to more than 260 law enforcement agencies in 26 states, the ACLU concluded that “American policing has become excessively militarized through the use of weapons and tactics designed for the battlefield” and that this militarization “unfairly impacts people of color and undermines individual liberties, and it has been allowed to happen in the absence of any meaningful public discussion.”

    • As an observer watching all this stuff from the Canadian side, all I can say is America buckle up for the rough ride, its only gona get worse with the president you voted for. He is separating and dividing you through race, through political parties, through the many crazy, unrealistic bills he’s been passing since he was elected. The whole world is watching your country crumble from the outside and you all haven’t figured out that your government is just distracting you with all these internal affairs, so you are not ready for the next big economic crash coming, and this time America may not be able to get herself out of it. So beware, advice to the people is stick together, you’re stronger together and can fight your government and see them for what they’ve really got planned for the new world order which begins in your nation, and stop fighting amongst yourselves. The links you’ve posted are actually connected to the bigger picture of what is yet to come, the insane military action used to control the masses and instill fear.

      • There are a whole lot of guns in the millions upon millions of houses we live in. If it happens it won’t be easy. And the sons and daughters who serve in our Armed forces won’t take up arms against Mom, Dad, brother & sister.i believe we hold a tactical advantage.

  13. Al Sharpton and Himmler Holder will only make things worse. Race baiting is going to fuel the problem. Remember Trayvon case? The aftermath of that situation? Wherever Al Sharpton and Himmler Holder are so are the new black panthers to create racial havoc. You can not get Holder out of the picture but you can block the others. Let the law work. If that officer is wrong it will be revealed and justice will served according to the law. We don’t need those race baiters keep yelling whitey shot a black man and innocent people white or black getting hurt in the crossfire.

Read majorwiblit comment on military style police.

  14. Your a man who really takes the time to make logical intelligent decisions. I pray you become the next President. I love your view point on how to handle matters both domestically and International

      • I really mean it! I like what Allen West has to say about a lot of different issues. He is smart and I agree take no prisoners when dealing with ISIS just destroy them. If it was done properly the ten years we spent there none of this would be happening. He also doesn’t agree with the looting and theft going on with that guy’s murder. People have no excuse for such actions. We need a tough leader who doesn’t spend his time campaigning and vacationing while America is over ran with immigrants while Christians and others are being slaughtered. Obama doesn’t completely back Israel like he should be doing and instead sends tax money that could be used to better America to Gaza which will just wind up in the hands of Hamas. I think Obama is a traitor to America and am very much hope he is impeached and someone with a good strong spine runs this country.

      • Earl Lee is just a racist troll. He’s proved that with plenty of his racist comments towards Colonel West and white people.
In arguments that had nothing to do with race he’s pulled out the race card over and over. His hate is based on the perpetual lie that Democrats have indoctrinated him with in order to keep him a slave. He doesn’t look at history and see that it was Republicans who did the Emancipation. He doesn’t remember that it was Democrats who enacted and enforced Jim Crowe. He doesn’t remember that it was the Republicans who fought for and passed Women’s Suffrage and the Civil Rights act while the Democrats fought against them.
Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

      • Blacks have voted democrat for 100 years because democrats promised to take care of them. So why are they still poor 100 yrs. later? If anyone noticed, the only blacks that have been successful in life have received an education and bettered their situation. They want no part of the dummies that think society owes them something.

      • Before you throw your support on allen (leave my men behind) west….you need to find out why he was relieved of command. You also need to find out why when the men serving under him faced charges and punishment allen (leave my men behind) west was NO WHERE to be found….he didn’t stand with those men…he is a COWARD!

  15. People
fall back on what happen on the night of the shooting and post images
of the QuickTrip like the one above like it has been happening every
night since the murder of Mr. Brown. The Rioting and looting was not a
cry for justice but a response to frustration and injustice that has
plagued ST Louis county and city for as long as I can remember. If your
read and see some of the reports and images coming out of Ferguson of
Police in heavy riot gear using military tactics to disperse peaceful
protesters. With Teargas, rubber bullets, and sonic weapons. That is
what you should be outraged against or is the Freedom to Assemble and
Freedom of the Press not in the Constitution.

  16. Sorry officer whoever you are but you’re a celebrity now. Can’t un-ring that bell. Time to face the music and tell America what happenned. I understand you fear for your family but you should have remembered them when you decided to pump 8 bullets into that young man. Violence begets violence hate begets hate. And that also applies to the rioters and looters. People want justice, whatever the outcome, and that family needs closure.

    • I am sure they will not release the officers name due to concerns of violence, remember what happened to innocent people during the trayvon Martin case? People are not showing a responsible side,..stop rioting so the police can investigate. Justice takes time. What do they want a hanging. Mob mentality. This is what our black youth see and will perpetuate.

      • They let the boy out in the sun for four hours so they could gather material evidence. The riots are not affecting the investigation. There’s is no pre-requisite for an investigation, it’s their job. If that man wasn’t a coward he wouldn’t be hiding. The victim’s family has to deal with the riots too. They can be targets of the police, the friend could have been targetted by the police or pilloried by the press but showed his face anyways. The family is out in the open everyone knows who they are they are also at risk. But they’re not hiding.

      • Sorry but do not agree that family is at risk. If there was not strong police presence, people would complain. Everyone needs to let this rest. They are making matters worse. I do not understand why the only time blacks get excited about a killing is if it’s at the hands of police or whites. So many kids are being killed all over the country. The culture needs to change. The behavior is making things worse.

      • Because “blacks” lose enough children to gangs, murders, violence, drugs and a lot of other bad choices. “Blacks” can’t afford to lose those who make the right choices at the hand of police or armed citizen. You don’t have to be a certain pigmentation. Most vigilantes are white btw but there’s no risk some white supremacist take it upon themselves to eleminate those “race-baiters.”

      • I can see your point about those kids who are lost. It is so sad and nothing seems to be changing. My point is what do protestors think they will accomplish by bad behavior. It only reflects on them.

      • Protestors have a constitutional right to protest. Looters and rioters are another story. I think it’s important to tell the difference. Hopefully we soon find a resolution to this mess.

      • I wish people would find it in their hearts to understand each other. We get so caught up in our own beliefs that we close out room to understand others.

      • “Blacks” get upset when one of them get killed and the killer makes it home in time for dinner. “Blacks” get upset because the people paid to protect them are also being paid to harass them.

    • Except a conflicting story has come out that Michael Brown entered the officers vehicle and made an attempt at his gun and that’s when the first shot came out. Wait until the investigation pulls out the real story before perpetuating hearsay.

      • He was found 35 feet away from the car. That’s not hearsay. He made it out of the car alive, then was hunted and gunned down. Several shell casings where found all from the officers gun. Also not hearsay. So he was shot more than once. The boy had no criminal record, no misdemeanors, no felonies. That is also confirmed by the DA. Dispatch recordings are also out. Officer whoever he is never reported the shooting. Also not hearsay. We don’t have all the information I agree but the little we have shows the officer is guilty as sin. People don’t want to talk about these things so they rather talk about riots.

      • Witness said when he hands in the air and going down to his knees THE COP KEPT SHOOTING! Why do they refuse to give the amount of times the young teen was shot??

      • They know that for sure. Police gun holds what 15? They know how many are left. Police involved shooting, first thing they do is take the officer’s gun. At least on TV. Ferguson police has something to hide. They are hiding behing the rioters for now but that can’t last forever. I have a feeling the chicken will come home to roost for that whole department.

  17. I like how Mr. West assumed Mr. Sharpton was there because of financial reasons. He failed to mention Mr. Sharpton was there because the young man’s family requested his presence. Mr. Sharpton when he spoke was speaking out against the violence and rioting. He spoke out for them to be peaceful. Of course Mr. Allen West did not mention that in his article.

      • Maybe you are right, but they still called him and he showed up. He only stayed for 1 day so I don’t know how much he got paid. I haven’t been a huge fan of his by any means but I have to give him credit, everything he said while there was right.

      • The one thing black conservatives don’t understand. Al Sharpton might be a gasbag full of hot air but he shows up. He’s probably the only voice all the people who are prey to their blind fury will listen to. Only person who they will heed the call for calm. If he helps save the last business that haven’t been looted in Ferguson he would have earned every penny he’s paid. They can call him race-pimp, race-hustler or race-baiter until they’re blue in the face the black community will always trust Sharpton because he’s there for them. You read that article Michael Brown’s name is not even mentioned. Not a word of condolences to his family.

      • Absolutely. It’s funny because they praise people like Ben Carson and Allen West yet, when any tragedy like this happens they lead from behind. They talk from behind the glass tube. They love to blast the President for leading from behind but yet that is exactly what they are doing. Hypocrisy in this country is real. I still can’t believe the number of pictures people are posting of Michael Brown and some of them even not being him. This is all in an effort to demonize the young man. Oh, he had a red shirt and flashed hand signs, he must be a gang member. I can’t be sure but it’s almost like some people want this kid to be guilty.

      • I was talking to a guy on breitbart. Told him Michael Brown had no criminal that was confirmed by the DA’s office. His reponse: Let’s wait for the facts. Told him again yeah but it comes from the prosecutors office. Again: I don’t know all the facts. Then he post a picture of a dude in red flashing blood signs. Told you he was a thug. It’s the Trayvon playbook. Find a way to put him on trial for getting shot.

      • Exactly. Let’s wait for the facts, but I thought if something is confirmed by the DA’s office then that would mean it’s a fact. But I guess if it’s not a fact you like then it doesn’t count.

    • Allen (leave my men behind) west KNOWS that if he would appear to be too close to the black community or viewed as supporting the black community ….he will lose SUPPORT..meaning he will lose INCOME! Just go look at his post on the BUNDY RANCH situation when he said he was OFFENDED! White folks TURNED ON HIM! He will not make that mistake TWICE!!

      • Way to show you’re a racist there Earl. You’re full of it and have yet to show any evidence for any of your claims.
I find it interesting, regardless of what Sharpton said (of which I agree on the part of stopping the violence), that the day after he shows up the protests escalate and an idiot decides its smart to wave a gun at police.
        Liberal education in action.

      • Evidence? Go read the comments on this blog where allen (leave my men behind) west says that he was offended by the comments of Ted Brundy…’ll see he will NEVER do that again!

      • I called him out on that too. By the way, Ted Bundy is still no hero. My aunt’s his sister, I live locally to him, so I’m a bit closer to knowing what’s going on down here than most.

      • Sorry but your facts are INCORRECT! Sharpton came in on Tuesday….the worst of the violence and looting happened on SUNDAY!

      • Ferguson police are using the riots as cover. They are doing their best to escalate the situation. Arresting journalists without charge. Pointing military grade rifles at peaceful protestors. They are like that shooter they are afraid to come under the sun. Sooner or later he will come out. Can’t stop the sun from shining.

  18. Allen (leave my men behind) West….I know you feel you can make a couple of BUCKS by using AL SHARPTON’S name is certain articles but…did you listen to what the man had to say. He asked people to STOP THE VIOLENCE, he explained to people that he know they are angry but they couldn’t be more angry than Michael Brown’s mother and father! He told them that the violence ONLY distracts from the real issue…the murder of a young black man by the police.
Now I would like to ask you…WHERE ARE YOU??? You prove to me day after day that you are no more than the real life UNCLE RUCKUS!!

    • You think the riots don’t play into their hands? They where eagerly waiting for the Trayvon riots that never happenned. The longer the riots last the more the can point fingers jump up and down scream “look at what these black people are doing no wonder that kid got shot”. The longer the riots last the more they can justify keeping the coward hidden. They don’t wan a mob to judge the cop but the internet mob is hard at work being judge, jury and executioner of the party at the receiving end of those bullets. The hypocrisy is obscene.

    • Earl lLee

The realUncle Rukus is Al Sharpton. Where was he when an elderly couple was robbed, beaten and the elderly women was raped . Who did this??? A group of blacks

  19. When Al Sharpton shows up , it is all for show and no more . It’s pretty obvious considering he was no where to be found wham a small child playing in her yard was hit by a drive by shoot

  20. I will take West and Carson any day over a fool like Al Sharpton, and furthermore, Ruckus what’s a loud mouth fool like Al Sharpton.

  21. West and Carson are intelligent enough to know the difference between the truth and
lies and there is plenty of it going around in Missouri

  22. Come on Officer whoever you are. America needs you in the sunlight. No one will harm you or your family. Spare no expense to make sure they’re safe. But the officer needs to be out in the sun. He shot and killed that kid in broad daylight. He wasn’t scared of the sun then. Why hasn’t LTC. Allen West spoken of accountability this time, personal responsibility. The light of truth and justice needs to shine on Officer whoever he is.

  23. Ways the militarization of police is wreaking havoc on innocent Americans

    1. It harms, and sometimes kills, innocent people. When you have heavily armed police officers using flash-bang grenades and armored personnel carriers, innocent people are bound to be hurt.

    2. Children are impacted. As the case of Wilson shows, the police busting down doors care little about whether there’s a child in the home.

    3. The use of SWAT teams is unnecessary. In many cases, using militarized teams of police is not needed. The ACLU report notes that the vast majority of cases where SWAT teams are deployed are in situations where a search warrant is being executed to just look for drugs.

    4. The “war on terror” is fueling militarization. It was the “war on drugs” that introduced militarized policing to the U.S. But the “war on terror” has accelerated it…………..

    • How many citizens of Ferguson were injured during these riots? NONE!!!! Try to keep your rant connected to THIS incident.

      • It’s only a matter of time. If these blacks don’t step back and calm down, their free pass won’t last with the “good guys???” carrying all that fire power. With all the destruction they’re causing, do you honestly think they have America’s sympathy?

      • It’s not a rant,,,,it’s a story, read it,,, or don’t read it,,, matters not to me
citizens have not been injured,, and you are right,,, but this is not about that 1 town…..this is happening all over ‘merica

  24. Al Sharpton owes over $2 million to the IRS and another million to the state of New York. Any of us who owed that much for years would be sitting out a prison sentence or losing any assets we owned. Nice to have someone in DC giving you a pass on this…

      • Al Sharpton was there to rev up anger in the crowd. He should know by now that finding the answers to what happened doesn’t come in the first hours or first days after an incident and rioting and damaging property only creates more of a problem. Al is just a big mouthed trouble maker. Luckily no one else was shot in the melee…

      • Do you even know what he said there. He asked for peace. Police are arresting journalists they want to trouble to continue. They want to keep justifying keeping “officer coward” hidden. Clock is ticking he will be revealed on way or another.

      • On Wednesday, the American Civil Liberties Union of Missouri filed a lawsuit seeking the release of the officer’s name under the state’s open records law.

Missouri law provides a specific exemption barring the release of records that authorities conclude are “likely to pose a clear and present danger” to victims, witnesses or others.

makes no nevermind,,, his name will be released soon…

      • Move “officer whoever he is” and his family to an army base if that what it takes. That charade has lasted long enough. Those crying on the right about “he’s got death threats” would love nothing more then some crazy vigilante to get to “officer coward”. Anything to deflect, delay, avoid discussing that shooting. Something tells me that whole department is afraid of the light.

      • In pictures: Ferguson protests calm as Highway Patrol Captain Ron Johnson takes over security
        By Reuters
        Friday, August 15, 2014 5:33 EDT

Protests over the shooting of an unarmed black teen in Missouri were boisterous but peaceable on Thursday night as a small number of state police, led by a newly appointed black captain, replaced riot gear-clad local forces and mingled with the crowd.

In a tactical U-turn, Johnson and a handful of black officers without body armor walked among thousands of protesters filling the streets of the mostly black St. Louis suburb, demanding justice for the killing of 18-year-old Michael Brown.

“Thank you Captain Ron Johnson for doing something so many others in your line of work clearly failed to do in Missouri.”

  25. You’re assessment of the events in Ferguson are pathetic. The police are not above the law. The police could have protected the policeman’s family and, at the same time, held him for questioning and let people know right away who the “suspect” is…the “person of interest,” the cop who killed Michael Brown. The police have mishandled this situation to the point where they are no longer handling it, and now they will release the name of this officer who obviously lost his self-control and killed this kid. The police and this officer have had a 2 or 3 days now to concoct a story but this cop will stand trial before a jury…as he should. The Ferguson murder is not so much about looting and vandalism as it is about a Fascist bunch of cops, out of control. No one condones the looting…no one. And the media didn’t want to show the peaceful protestors but they were there, too, AND they were in danger from a police force trying to act like an army against an enemy. “Serve and Protect is what I thought the police were supposed to stand for…obviously, not in Ferguson, and obviously not for all citizens.

      • It started long before that,,,

Under a federal program, local police departments like the St.

    • Wrong, everyone that stole and damaged the stores condoned the looting and vandalism. Even Osama Obama condoned th Violence from his Safe Harbor of Martha’s vineyard and his security encased golf course. America doesn’t need a Muslim terrorist President declaring Martial Law and take over the Usa over a Smart Mouth kid from Missouri.

  26. I agree with what Col West said;
“there is no better way to lose the moral high ground than with rioting, looting and incitement to violence by New Black Panthers..”

    • Police are arresting journalists without pressing any charges and pointing military-grade rifles at peacefull protesters. When do they start losing their moral high ground? The facts will come out one way or another. Riots or not that kid is still dead.

      • I find it odd that I am agreeing with you.

The local police have greatly overreacted, which is why the Missouri State Police are taking over.

HOWEVER, it still isn’t a reason or excuse to riot, loot and burn businesses (that had nothing to do with the shooting) to the ground.

      • There’s no excuses for the riots. But the riots can’t be an excuse either. When the light finally shines on “officer whoever he is” something tells me it wont reflect well on that departement.

      • Again, we are in agreement.

I have no love for the Police. However, unlike a lot of people (ie: NBPP & Al Sharpton), I don’t hate the Police either. I simply don’t trust them.

      • Siding with the thugs (in this case, the rioters and looters) makes you appear just as weak as they are.

  27. It would have been nice if he actually spoke about what he thought about another police officer shooting an unarmed civilian. But he tip toed around that………….

  28. Rioting is wrong, but I can understand why many of the people are upset. Something doesn’t smell right about what happened.

  29. Ferguson police is using the riots as an excuse to drag their feet. Once they charge “the officer” he can’t stay under wraps anymore. They can’t stop anonymous from mining the information. Can’t stop regular journalists from asking questions either. Authorities are conducting an investigation, so is the press. Can’t stop Al and Jesse from running their mouths as much as we would love to. Only 56 officers in Fergusson PD, how long is it going to take Anonymous, regular media or some blogger to figure out which one? Police is mishandling the process and they can’t wish the scrutiny away. It’s already national news, they can’t put the toothpaste back into the tube. No one can stop the sun from shining.

  30. At least with the release of the fact that Sharpton was at one time a CI had discredited him with Ferguson’s populace… Their mantra “Snitches get Stitches” has really curbed Sharpton’s tongue in this issue. He is WAY more low key than he was during the Trayvon Martin incident.

      • The report they wrote after the shooting yeah I saw it. The only thing we got from the press conference was 12:01 the encounter happens. 12:04 Second officer shows up and he’s dead. Robbery is irrelevant what matters is what happenned at the scene of the shooting. That is still murky. Now if you excuse me I got some reading to do. You should try that too at least more deleting and less writing.

      • Stick your smug attitude up your ass pimp. You were okay with the riots until today. So get bent with your sanctimonious crap.

      • Mainly sitting back and letting the extremists have at it…generally knowing the truth lies somewhere in between…

but I have to give props for the word “pimpery”

      • The extremists would be the rioters and those who have decided the cop was wrong. I am quite willing to wait for the investigation to conclude and let the chips fall where they may.If the cop did what is alleged with no justification, put his azz in the system like anyone else.

  31. If the officer grabbed him he could have pulled the kids arms in the vehicle, however that may not be the case. Also we don’t know his hands were in the vehicle that is just what the officer says which he could be telling the truth.

    • True. But I have yet to hear any account that says that the cop was initially outside the vehicle. It makes no sense the cop would try to pull him inside the front of the car. If anything, it would be in the back where you put people you are detaining/arresting.

  32. I don’t know if he was trying to pull him in the vehicle or not. He may have just been grabbing him, I’m only going by what the 3 witnesses said. They could be wrong I don’t know. I think none of that matters because if what has been said that Mr. Brown’s hands were up and the officer continued to shoot, that’s a problem. But like I said that is only if what is said is true.

  33. statement from the family, via attorney…….

Michael Brown’s family is beyond outraged at the devious way the police chief has chosen to disseminate piece mil information in a manner intended to assassinate the character of their son, following such a brutal assassination of his person in broad daylight.
There is nothing based on the facts that have been placed before us that can justify the execution style murder of their child by this police officer as he held his hands up, which is the universal sign of surrender.

The prolonged release of the officer’s name and then the subsequent alleged information regarding a robbery is the reason why the family and the local community have such distrust for the local law enforcement agencies.
It is no way transparent to release the still photographs alleged to be Michael Brown and refuse to release the photographs of the officer that executed him.
The police strategy of attempting to blame the victim will not divert our attention, from being focused on the autopsy, ballistics report and the trajectory of the bullets that caused Michael’s death and will demonstrate to the world this brutal execution of an unarmed teenager.

    Benjamin L Crump, Esq.
    Anthony D. Gray, Esq.
    Daryl D. Parks, Esq.

    • come on, you could come up with a better insulting name than that..

it needs to start with a “Da” or “Du” and have “shawn” or “quawn” or “dre” in there somewhere

  34. I have no problem saying what side I am on. Irrespective of anything we have heard via witnesses, somehow, someway that cop got injuries to his face. That is hard to explain away by anyone if all witnesses are to be believed. No one said that Brown put his hands on the cop yet he had facial injuries. If Brown was just ‘pulling away’ then the cop must have hurt himself. People can say that witnesses from any side have a dog in the fight buy you cannot dismiss the cop’s injuries without some rational explanation.

  35. (CNN) — Darren Wilson was just one of 53 officers in a small-town police department until his encounter with a unarmed 18-year-old last Saturday on a street in Ferguson, Missouri.
Brown was African-American; Wilson is white.

  36. I would like to know what the hell blacks get upset when one of theirs gets killed, what about the BABY that was shot in his cradle by a black , how about when a ww2 vet was killed by a black, where is the outrage, black think they can do anything they want, the problem is that black kids here about what their parents think of the police from birth till death

    • Nit all blacks. Just the animals of their group. This is what liberals have created. Entitled primates that attack when they get upset at whitey.

      • I am a black woman and I will say that there is reverse racism. I hear it all of the time from black people. There are blacks who have such a hate for white people. Another thing, the autopsy shows that Mike did not have his hand Up. How would he be shot in those areas. Black men are jealous of white men which brews their hatred.

    • What about the hundreds killed daily in Chicago? I am a black woman and embarrassed as hell. I thought Blacks were progressing. I live on the east coast, but this just makes blacks look like they have regressesed. People know good and well that the Mike guy turned back on that cop the same way he did on the clerk in that video. Also, the other video that came out, where the guys are talking at the scene after the shooting back up the cop, they say Mike turned back, Black men need to correct their behavior and stop blaming the white man with reverse racism. Black men are jealous and have a hatred for white men.

      • I lived in a very integrated community several years ago, and NOONE made issue of anyones race or gender. It was the best place I’ve ever lived! Everyone got along and worked together as a community!

    • ALL people must start teaching their children respect for authority figures from the time they’re old enough to start understanding. The hate, contempt, not to speak of disrespect of the police across the nation is disheartening!

  37. Even if someone were guilty for stealing a box of cigars without a weapon, do you think this really justifies shooting them??? Check out the comments by Vets who served in Afghanistan and Iraq about how RIDICULOUS and HEAVY HANDED the riot control response was by the Ferguson Police Dept.

      • the feds are investigating and if they prove that Mike charged back at the officer and the officer was protecting himself, then the officer will not be charged. If the people then want to continue being out in the streets like looking like wild people then they just mess up there town. Black or White police officers have the right to shoot anyone who charges them and what gets me is, anyone know that an officer always has the dispatch radio in his car on….so he DID know and hear that a robbery had just happened. If you have been by people officers you know they always hear other police dispatch calls……These are the people blowing smoke and excuses trying to say Darren did not know about the robbery. I believe Mike did turn back on the officer just like he turned back on the clerk in the video. Stop the excuse for racism and these black guys behavior.

    • My heart goes out to any one that loses a son or daughter, but this young man was a thug. This is evident by watching the video of him stealing from the store and bullying the store clerk. This wasn’t a law abiding, honor roll student, hard working young man. I don’t know what happened and I won’t add any speculations as to what transpired. The media has done an efficient job of that. There is no excuse for the looting and rioting. Period.

    • Not for theft but I need to hear what happened between that officer and Michael after he left the store. It will take an investigation to bring all this to light.

    • He was shot because he attempted to take the officer’s gun! Stop trying to make Brown the innocent victim in this incident, because he wasn’t!

  38. As I read some of the comments made here by those who have rushed to judgement on both sides I wonder if the facts will ever really be known to anyone’s satisfaction. Apparently Brown had a history of contacts with police officers. Apparently according to the video released by the police dept he had been witnessed stealing from a local store. I am not sure about the rest of you but I really think that a man of his size would intimidate me in those circumstances. Apparently from watching the video Brown felt it was his right to steal from a shop owner because he could. I wonder how many times this man had used intimidation to steal from the same shop over and over. Do any of you remember way back in the old days when shop owners had to pay local thugs just to keep their doors open. I think that is called theft and coercion in any language.
As for the shooting I would think that eventually the truth will come out as it was reported at first, that this man used his size to try to intimidate a police officer smaller than him by force. As for shooting him as he ran away or strolled away we do not have a video with sound that tells us exactly what he was saying to the police officer or what the police officer said to him.
The rioting was just another way for some morons and thieves to get something for nothing regardless if they were stealing and robbing their own neighborhood businesses. Typical behavior in a society that believes they have been held back and they now deserve anything they can grab. I wish the investigators would use the films to identify those who robbed those stores and prosecute them for theft and send them to jail where they belong. Out of society and out of the neighborhood.

  39. Ona69,you expressed that really well. Totally agree. Why use this instance to riot, steal and make a bad situation even worse.

  40. From what I understand about what touched off the current crisis, the facts are these:

    1. The police cruisers in Ferguson aren’t/weren’t equipped with cameras.
    2. Apparently the convenience store security camera (if there was one) didn’t capture any footage of the shooting, or the events before and/or after it…OR what footage there might have been has either since been stolen or suppressed.
    3. Multiple eyewitnesses have stated that Brown had his hands up when he was shot; on the other hand, eyewitness testimony is known to be unreliable, and given the relations between a virtually all-black community and a virtually all-white police department, we can probably safely assume that the eyewitnesses are generally negatively predisposed toward the police (and possibly vice versa).
    4. All of the above being the case, Brown was nonetheless shot a great-enough distance from the police cruiser to make the idea of his threatening the officer somewhat less credible.

So what we have here seems to be an ugly, messy situation in which neither side can credibly claim the moral high ground. This is at best a questionable shooting – but the protests against it have long since degenerated into a cover for rioting and looting.

One thing I continue to be curious about: There’s a consistent emphasis on the fact that Ferguson is majority-black, but has a white mayor. If such a horrible relationship exists between Ferguson’s black community and its police department, why haven’t Ferguson’s black citizens made their sentiments felt at the ballot box – and elected a black mayor, who (presumably) would represent their interests more effectively with regard to community policing?

At any rate – if only to investigate this shooting effectively – order must be restored in Ferguson. The stage seems to be ideally set for Missouri’s governor to demonstrate leadership…and impose order, if necessary. The time for coaxing, cajoling, or persuading rioters and looters is long past.

    • Another cop hater who makes a rush to judgement.

You think witnesses don’t lie? Especially if they hate white people/cops?

So no cameras in the cars caused the shooting. Interesting.
[[ All of the above being the case, Brown was nonetheless shot a great-enough distance from the police cruiser to make the idea of his threatening the officer somewhat less credible.]]
According to the ‘witnesses’ who all coincidentally came out the same time five days after the shooting. The same day with the same story. Why did it take five days? Had to get them ‘prepped’ I guess.

  41. Looks like the cop was right. Brown was coming at him……….

A previously unnoticed detail in a background conversion of a video taken minutes after the Ferguson shooting could change the course of the investigation into Mike Brown’s death.

The original video poster appears sympathetic to the narrative that Mike Brown was shot unarmed with his hands in the air. But he unknowingly picks up conversation between a man who saw the altercation and another neighbor.

An approximate transcription of the background conversation, as related by the “Conservative Treehouse” blog:

    @6:28/6:29 of video

#1 How’d he get from there to there?

#2 Because he ran, the police was still in the truck – cause he was like over the truck

#2 But him and the police was both in the truck, then he ran – the police got out and ran after him

#2 Then the next thing I know he doubled back toward him cus – the police had his gun drawn already on him –

#1. Oh, the police got his gun

#2 The police kept dumpin on him, and I’m thinking the police kept missing – he like – be like – but he kept coming toward him

#2 Police fired shots – the next thing I know – the police was missing

    #1 The Police?

    #2 The Police shot him

    #1 Police?

#2 The next thing I know … I’m thinking … the dude started running … (garbled something about “he took it from him”)

This is terribly important because if Mike Brown had been shot, and he advanced towards the cop instead of surrendering, it would substantiate the narrative that the policeman shot in self-defense due to the fact that he was being threatened with severe bodily harm.

This corroborates an account of the event given by a friend of Officer Darren Wilson:

Well, then Michael takes off and gets to be about 35 feet away. And, Darren’s first protocol is to pursue. So, he stands up and yells, “Freeze!” Michael and his friend turn around. And Michael taunts him… And then all the sudden he just started bumrushing him. He just started coming at him full speed. And, so he just started shooting. And, he just kept coming. And, so he really thinks he was on something.”

    • There are a few issues with your statement. First of all, I like how you ignored the statement from the video where he appears to be saying the police were already firing at him before the so called “bombshell.” Also, a guy talking in the background of a video “corroborates” the cop’s story as told by a friend who wasn’t there (and who’s identity is still being confirmed)? I find it rather hypocritical that commenters on here and Allen West act like they always wait for the facts to come out before making a judgement on a given situation. “In case you’re wondering what I think about the events unfolding in Ferguson, Missouri, well, I wasn’t there — and I’m not investigating the case.” That is bizarre considering Allen West deemed Bowe Bergdahl a deserter, his father a terrorist claiming the White House for Islam (wrongly) and the president should be tried for treason. Absolute hypocrisy. That is still the first story you see on this website! Everyone needs to get off their high horse.

BREAKING: Michael Brown Was Shot IN FRONT By #Ferguson Cop – Not in the Back – Autopsy Released

        Call off the race hustlers.
Michael Brown was shot in the front – Not in the back.
The New York Times released details of the autopsy tonight.

Michael Brown, the unarmed black teenager who was killed by a police officer, sparking protests around the nation, was shot at least six times, including twice in the head, a preliminary private autopsy performed on Sunday found.

One of the bullets entered the top of Mr. Brown’s skull, suggesting his head was bent forward when it struck him and caused a fatal injury, according to Dr. Michael M. Baden, the former chief medical examiner for the City of New York, who flew to Missouri on Sunday at the family’s request to conduct the separate autopsy. It was likely the last of bullets to hit him, he said.

Mr. Brown, 18, was also shot four times in the right arm, he said, adding that all the bullets were fired into his front.

The bullets did not appear to have been shot from very close range because no gunpowder was present on his body. However, that determination could change if it turns out that there is gunshot residue on Mr. Brown’s clothing, to which Dr. Baden did not have access.

Michael Brown was not shot in the back.

      • I’m not sure what a race pimp is, but I was well aware of this when I commented last night. Great job, again, at picking parts of a news story that fit what you are trying to say. The Times’ article makes sure to state that this autopsy does nothing to confirm or reject either story, just to detail the 6 shots fired. I don’t know what you think this proves, but essentially, it proves nothing at this point.

      • Let’s see, first Brown was a good college kid until tape revealed otherwise. Then he was shot in the back says ‘witnesses’ until he wasn’t. Then he was down on the ground surrendering until he wasn’t. Now minutes ago it came out he was high which possibly lead to his aggression and attacking two people. . So great job in holding your position that we can’t ‘confirm or reject’ any story…………even though we now can.

      • He ran at the cop. This link is why I blame him

Who said he tried to run away from an initial bullet? The cop was injured and said Brown tied to go for his gun. And one of the witnesses said they were ‘tussling’ inside the car. So you tell me how you get shot through the top of the head unless your head is down. And in light of the links I ave provided, it looks like Brown charged the cop.

Oh yeah. ace pimp Holder is heading down there. Great.

      • You saw him run into the cop? After getting shot? Other witnesses are telling another story. And seriously toxicology report? What about toxicology report on the officer, his state of mind? Did he get into a fight with his wife that mornigng? Only speculations so far on both sides. Holder is going there because the local authorities are more interested in covering their butts then doing their job. Arrested and handcuffed a 96 year old holocaust survivor.

      • St. Louis had a stream of race baiters to fuel the fire:Sharpton, Jackson, Holder, Black Panthers, and if that wasn’t quite enough, representatives of the KKK had to make a showing also! We should all really pray for that city, that they may find the peace they once had.

      • It was a friggin’ circus will all the usual pimps and hustlers down there. It was a mockery of what happened.

I don’t think that city ever had peace. Ferguson has a crime rate twice the national average.

  43. Where are these people finding the time to be out in the street? They are such an embarrassment. If they had their head in a book or enrolled in school with a job, then they wouldn’t have this mess going on. This crap is taking race relations back 40 years. They just want to be out in the street at night.

    • People who live on welfare have plenty of time to”play” Too bad they can’t find more constructive ways to spend their time!

  44. If Michael Brown had cooperated with the cop instead of attacking him, he’d be alive today. I’m just saying. How about people in Ferguson behaving like grownups and accepting some personal accountability for the consequences of their actions?

Or shall the rest of us just keep picking up the pieces, rebuilding the looted and burned buildings, and make ever more abject concessions to appease the raging, thieving mob?

  45. Why does everyone blame the police for killing Michael Brown? I know that they shot him, but wasn’t that also his fault? If he had listened to them and just give himself up, then his blood wouldn’t b on the sidewalk. He would have probably be sentenced for jail time, but he’d still be alive and would be given a second chance. But still, a lot of people who are also not part of the riot think the police were in the wrong. They warned him that they will shoot if he moves towards them; he goes charging at them and they retaliated in order to protect themselves. Everyday, a cop always have to worry that they don’t have to be a part of a dangerous situation. Whenever an officer pulls over a driver, they always have to be prepared in case if that driver is armed or has more than one people in the car ready to attack. Also, it’s a cop’s job to protect the lives of innocent bystanders, yet they are blamed for killing a man who a lot of people know who isn’t innocent. In order for them to protect not just themselves, but also the people around them, they must either convince him to stand down, or take his life because those officers didn’t know what Mr. Brown was thinking before he charged at them. I believe that we the people have lost our sight to what is really important about our law enforcement. These men and women risked their lives everyday in order to keep us from getting hurt or worse. They deserve more of our respect instead of our ridicule.

  46. Here’s the law ” you have the right to use deadly force to protect yourself or another from someone who has the ability (gun, knife, bat, etc.), opportunity (within proximity to use the bat, gun, knife, etc.) and intent (an action that would a reasonable person to believe you intend to use the gun, knife or bat, etc.) to cause you great bodily harm or death. The fear of death of great bodily harm must be immediate. Great bodily harm is described as broken bone, loss of eye, maiming, etc. Scratching, punching or pushing does not force. Additionally there is another standard in law enforcement which states “bare fear alone does not justify the use of deadly force” this means exactly what it says. You might honestly be afraid however, if the individual does not have the ability, that is a gun, bat, etc, you can not use DEADLY force. Unless the individual is physically getting the best of you and you believe that you may be disabled, allowing him/her to get to your gun and us it against you. A police officer has to justify each and every shot fired using the criteria above. That’s why they teach you to shoot twice and then assess. If the threat continues consider a head shot or fire two more. What Wilson should have done was called for back-up. Followed the two individuals at a safe distance until his back-up arrived and then effected the arrest. I have no doubt that Wilson was afraid and mad. This guy was not going to get away from him. There are serious training deficiencies that need to be addressed and It’s my belief that they wont. As for whether or not the shooting was justified, you have the criteria, you be the judge. Remember deadly force is the last resort and used only when necessary.
