ISIS so extreme, even al-Qaida worried it would “damage its reputation” [VIDEO]

I am pleased to know the Obama administration has decided to provide weapons support to the Kurdish Peshmerga Army and bypass the Iraqi government — which under al-Maliki is in shambles. Our goal should be to assist in establishing an independent Kurdistan where Kurds, Christians and other religious minorities can live and thrive in peace. And a strategic part of that objective should be to destroy ISIS and deter the rising Islamist government in Turkey. After all, Southern Sudan was established based on religious persecution from the same folks: Islamists versus Christians.

And never forget that the Kurds are the words largest ethnic group without a homeland — the “Palestinians” are just hell-raising Arabs who were kicked out of Jordan.

But the purpose of this missive is to ask a question: How did ISIS kinda sneak up on the Obama administration? Do we have a failure in our intelligence gathering apparatus — or is this just an example of abject incompetence or worse, willful negligence?

Why do I ask this question?

Well, based on a report from the UK Daily Mail, ISIS was already ringing alarm bells on the radar screen of some major players a few years ago, and it might surprise you whose radar was twitching.

According to the report, “Lying among a pile of papers at the hideout in Pakistan where Osama Bin Laden was shot dead was a carefully worded 21-page letter. It warned of the rise of a new and ruthless group of Islamic extremists capable of such extreme brutality that al-Qaida should sever all links with them. In fact, it claimed the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (or ISIS) had such complete disregard for civilian life that it could damage the reputation of al-Qaida – if such a thing were possible for an organization that has long traded in murderous terrorism.”

Here’s a particularly brutal video you may or may not want to watch on the Daily Mail’s website.

So let me get this right, Osama bin Laden was aware of ISIS back in 2011 and was concerned about ISIS damaging al-Qaida’s reputation? And how was it that President Obama referred to them as a “JV” team? Obama was beside himself with glee to lay claim to “killing” Osama bin Laden, but neglected to mention there was an even bigger threat looming.

Could it be that even in 2012, while running for reelection Obama clearly knew about this threat? Then again that assumes he was taking national security briefings. Is this whole episode surrounding the emergence of ISIS truly the result of a president more concerned with politics and his own political advancement that the security of our nation?

Or is he quietly pleased about the advancement of ISIS?

We all recall the countless declarations of “Osama bin Laden is dead and al- Qaida is decimated and on the run.” Perhaps Obama — gotta be careful here, almost typed Osama — should have added in the small caveat, “but there is a new and more dangerous Islamic terrorist group that we must focus upon and destroy.” Well, that didn’t happen and we need to know the truth: “When did President Obama learn about ISIS and its threat?” And the answer is not that he heard about it on the news.

The Daily Mail says, “the document, written by one of Bin Laden’s senior officials in 2011, went on to catalogue some of its acts of barbarism – including the use of chlorine gas as a chemical weapon, bombing mosques and a massacre in a Catholic church in Baghdad. In essence, the letter said that ISIS was simply too extreme even for the group that killed thousands in the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001. Today, ISIS, which now styles itself as simply Islamic State (IS), has become a powerful military force that has control of an area larger than Great Britain.”

So here is proof that Osama had senior officials providing him detailed intelligence reports. Conversely, Obama has senior staff who provide him with lies and talking points. Could it be the last laugh may just come from Osama to Obama on this particular episode?

Obama is off on vacation and we keep hearing about how this is a “limited scope operation” In Iraq — in military terminology that means, “we don’t have a freakin’ clue what to do but at least we’ll do something to give an impression of accomplishing something, knowing full well, we are not.” ISIS still has the Yazidis and Christians trapped on Mt. Sinjar. The group still has a base of operations in Mosul and lines of communications that extend back into Syria — and as the Daily Mail piece states, control an area larger than Great Britain.

ISIS controls airfields, oil fields, and the Mosul dam — and, with the help of wealthy Sunni backers from the Gulf states, is estimated to have amassed a staggering war chest of almost $1.5 billion. It has even sold 8,000-year-old antiquities it has seized. The Obama administration believes it is safeguarding U.S. interests – but the best way to do that is to destroy ISIS, not just prevent them from attacking Irbil.

But the Daily Mail reports, “the real assets lie in the fanatical loyalty of its fighters (they all swear allegiance to IS) and the state-of-the-art weaponry they now possess. Much of its armory was seized during a lightning advance several weeks ago, when fleeing Iraqi troops abandoned the artillery and armored vehicles that they had been given by U.S. forces. With captured American Humvees and the latest precision firepower, it is more than a match for the formidable Kurdish peshmerga – which defends the Kurds’ semi-autonomous region in the north – and its 12.7mm Soviet-era machine guns and outdated Russian T-55 tanks. As Ali Khedery, a former American official who advised US generals in Iraq, has said: ‘They are literally outgunned by an IS that is fighting with hundreds of millions of dollars of US military equipment seized from the Iraqi Army, which abandoned it.’

But the use of social media by ISIS to recruit and disseminate their messae means we are facing a barbaric 7th Century enemy with 21st Century communications technology — and resources.

Say what you wish, but this falls right at the feet of President Barack Hussein Obama as this was never a “junior varsity” team and its existence should have been tracked and thwarted early. Instead we have no one in charge of America – they’re all enjoying vacation, playing golf, and having a swell time.

The rest of us who are paying attention are castigated by our own fellow Americans as Islamophobes, warmongers and “haters.” That’s fine. Just turn a blind eye to the fact these monsters are beheading children, and just go have another glass of kool-aid with President Obama.

again,,,,laying it all, blaming it all at Obama’s feet… Reagan fought a proxy war with the Soviet Union by training, arming, equipping, and funding Islamist mujahidin fighters in Afghanistan. Reagan funneled billions of dollars, along with top-secret intelligence and sophisticated weaponry to these fighters through the Pakistani intelligence service. The Talbian and Osama Bin Laden — a prominent mujahidin commander — emerged from these mujahidin groups Reagan helped create, and U.S. policy towards Pakistan remains strained because of the intelligence services’ close relations to these fighters. In fact, Reagan’s decision to continue the proxy war after the Soviets were willing… Read more »

“laying it all, blaming it all at Obama’s feet…” That’s why he gets paid the big bucks. If you weren’t expecting great things from him then why did you hire him? Making excuses for your Messiah is pathetic. When he picked up the mantel he asked for he took on the responsibility that he claimed to be able to handle. You must think him weak and a victim or you wouldn’t be trying to fight his battles for him like he’s a child. You know he’s in over his head and that you made a tragic mistake putting him in… Read more »

Hello.. major nitwit!

Why are you sidestepping the issue and pulling out ancient history? WTH does that have to do with TODAY? The point being, ISIS COULD have been ended several years ago by THIS president, Obama, but he ‘chose’ not to. Decades ago there was no ethnic cleansing. Today, by the thousands, every non-Muslim woman is raped, husband murdered, and their children beheaded.
Now you want to whine about the past and ignore the present, like your president?
You are truly pathetic!

That’s not fair! King Putt is braving the cold New England waters without a heated wetsuit. Just giving credit where credit is due.
