Hamas leader: we cannot coexist

Remember the opening scene in the movie “Gladiator?” My favorite line was, “at my signal, unleash hell.” That’s how it used to be when your enemies showed their belligerence. They got crushed. In the movie, the command came from Roman General Maximus after the envoy he sent to negotiate came back mounted upon a horse missing his head. Maximus quickly realized their answer when he said, “they say no.”

Fast forward to the current conflagration between the State of Israel and the Islamic terror group, Hamas. Ah, how life imitates art.

As reported by AFP via Yahoo, in “Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal demanded Israel lift its blockade of Gaza and warned that Palestinians cannot coexist with their neighbors while their land is occupied, in an interview broadcast Sunday. On Saturday, Meshaal was interviewed by U.S. broadcaster PBS in the Qatari capital Doha while in Gaza his Islamist militia was under assault from Israeli forces in renewed fighting that has left hundreds dead.”

First of all, why are we interviewing the leader of an Islamic terrorist organization? And why do we think the Qataris are our friends if they are sheltering the leader of a terrorist organization? And you just have to ask, why is the U.S. seeking to broker a cease-fire with a terrorist organization committed to the destruction of the country who is supposed to be our best ally? Lots of questions here.

However, it does seem that interviewer Charlie Rose asked the question of Mssr. Meshaal — who is living quite the luxurious life in Doha as opposed to the folks in Gaza — true leadership there.

“Asked by veteran interviewer Charlie Rose whether he could foresee living beside Israelis in peace, Meshaal said only a future Palestinian state could decide whether to recognize the Jewish state. “We are not fanatics, we are not fundamentalists. We are not actually fighting the Jews because they are Jews per se. We do not fight any other races. We fight the occupiers,” he said. “I’m ready to coexist with the Jews, with the Christians and the Arabs and non-Arabs,” he said. “However, I do not coexist with the occupiers.”

In other words, “they say no.”

But let’s deconstruct what Khaled Meshaal said here. Only a future Palestinian state could decide whether to recognize the Jewish state. Does this idiot not understand that there is a Jewish State, there has never been a Palestinian state — it is a region. Long before there was a single Muslim, there was a Jewish State, and its capital was Jerusalem — only by claim of armed aggression do Muslims have any say — heck, in that case, Italy has more claim than the Palestinians since Roman Emperor Hadrian renamed Jerusalem Aeolia Capitolina.

So no sir, the Jewish state is here with or without your recognition. He says “we are not fanatics, we are not fundamentalists?” What do you call people who advocate for children to kill Jews? What do you call people who advocate strapping bombs on your own people in order to kill innocents? And what does Mr. Meshaal call his organization whose charter clearly calls for the death and eradication of all Jewish people? Of course Hamas is fighting the Jews — you say so yourself. This is taquiyya at its best.

He is not willing to coexist with “occupiers?” Did he somehow miss the fact that the Jews evacuated Gaza years ago, and Hamas has showed its thanks with rockets and missiles — as well as countless infiltration tunnels. Hamas, along with ISIS are really showing us all how much they want to coexist with Christians. And Meshaal is advancing this false premise and propaganda that Israelis are “occupiers.” Decades ago, the international community made the decision that the two-state solution was Israel and Jordan, but the Arabs who redefined themselves as “Palestinians” led by the original terrorist, Yasser Arafat, “said no.”

Why are we providing Hamas a platform at all? We know who they are and for which they stand. They say no! So the only response should be “at my signal, unleash hell” — which is exactly what Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu and Israel are doing. And Hamas deserves every bit of it!

There is a saying that I would like to paraphrase…

If the Arabs lay down their weapons, there will be no more fighting in the Middle East.
If the Israelis lay down their weapons, there will be no more Jews in the Middle East.

Israel has a right to defend itself from those who have sworn to drive them into the sea.

Pretty simple really. I think they have exhibited amazing restraint so far. If the Gazans allow this Hamas leader to continue to decide their fate, they will eventually have to die. While that may not matter to fearless leader, sitting far from the conflict, it should to the ones dying. They outnumber Hamas by a large margin and Hamas is busy defending it’s self. Seems like a good time to sweep out the trash to me. Does anyone agree with me ? I hope the Gazans do..

They’re too brainwashed to realise any of what you’re saying. They’re fed anti-Israel garbage from the time they can speak, so they don’t realise they can outnumber HAMAS, nor do they even think of anything other than first killing Jews, and after them, the rest of the infidels (ie, the Western world). How the rest of the (civilized) world can co-exist with such savage barbarity is beyond me. How people can be sucked into loving death more than life is equally beyond me.

I love his double speak….just like that Hanan Ashawri (sp?) on TV yesterday. Dancing all around the question, obfuscation at every turn. More people are getting it finally so I’m happy about that. The truth does come out.

First of all, Gaza is not “occupied”. Ariel Sharon ceded Gaza to the complete control of the PA. The first thing people did in the subsequent election was to put Hamas in power. Why? Well, Hamas had been engaged in some outwardly humanitarian efforts, building hospitals and schools, among other things. Once they had the reins of power, well, guess what happened? They demanded the “price” for all the benevolent actions: death to the Zionist entity at all costs, including your children. This is who Israel is dealing with in the way of an enemy, a people who are dedicated… Read more »

I will note that, if the “moderate” Arabs want to end the violence, they have it in their power to do so. Take down Hamas, imprison or execute its leaders, and cooperate _fully_ with the government of Israel.

There is no proof that there is such a thing as a moderate majority in their ideology. When they are silent, it proves they support all the hate spewing clerics and ELECTED leadership. I am so sick of hearing about this mythical moderate group. Where are they marching? Where are they protesting? Where are their voices heard demanding the end of hate and bigotry from their leadership? Let’s face it, there is only a scattered and very brave few and I make no excuses for the rest…

Where are the moderates? Fighting in the streets of Egypt to overthrow the Muslim Brotherhood government. Fighting in various countries throughout the Middle East against the radicals. There is a civil war within Islam and the moderates are in the fight and paying for it dearly. They are also living peaceful normal lives all over the world and many of the m Westernized. Walk the rows of headstones in Arlington Cemetery and you’ll find the graves of patriotic American moderate muslims who died fighting in recent years against radical muslims in our war on terror. We can not beat radical… Read more »

Brendan, this article was about Hamas and their refusal to coexist. But even if I include all of Islam, I repeat: Let’s face it, (in the ocean of Islam) there are only a scattered and very brave FEW and I make no excuses for the rest… As for the rest, their deafening silence and inaction to promote peace, brotherly love and coexistence with Israel from the millions whom reside in democracies is sickening. You say they have lived peaceful and normal lives, but all over the world there is a clamor and protest rising by Muslims against the support of… Read more »

Nicely put. Even if there was a moderate majority, in the end, the peaceful majority are irrelevant….

Agreed. That’s why I put “moderate” in quotes. If there are Mohammedans who want to get along with the civilized world, it’s long past time for them to use those swords they’re so fond of for good purpose…on their political and religious leaders, and on the terrorist (putative) minority.

I remember seeing video coverage of a Palestinian mother telling her young children to throw rocks and chant death threats to the young Israeli children that were standing on the other side of a fence from them. It was sick. These people are animalistic and we have a sitting US President doing nothing about this.

Since things seem to be so backwards right now, I wish obama would crawl back under the rock in which he came from.

It’s sad that Muslims kill their children few brain cells while they are young.
They are raised to be racists, filled with hatred.
God had cursed them to to kill each other as they did for centuries.

Thanks Colonel, I learned a new word today: “taqiyya”, it means “two faced coward”. Something I most definitely connect with radical Muslims.

I am 100% behind Israel…….Do I remember that line from Gladiator ?…Oh yeah…Russell Crowe is still my favorite actor. I saw Gladiator 12 times in the theater when it first came out in May 2000. …..(FYI: I despise that the movie Noah was hijacked by an atheist director with an idiotic global warming agenda, but whatever was called for I know Russell gave it everything he had….I haven’t seen it yet cause I refused to see it in the theater and it almost killed me to not see Russ on the Big Screen…;-) )

The definition of Taqiyya that I have is: “Koran commands Muslims Not to take non-Muslims for friends, protectors, or helpers unless their purpose is to decieve the non-Muslims. This deception is called “making taqiyya” “…From Damiel Akbari’s book, New Jihadists and Islam. He is a Christian convert and now lives in Texas with his wife and daughter. Look his book up at amazon for more info about him. He spoke to our Bryan/College Station Tea Party Meeting a few months ago. (We meet monthly)…….Much to learn about the enemy.

Col. West, this is an excellent analogy with a firm grasp of truth that those on the wrong side of history do not seem to comprehend. I read a comment on FB a few minutes ago that blew my socks off where the commenter was even rewriting the Bible and the history of the descendents of Abraham. You always have a keen awareness of history and how that history is so important when attempting to understand current events. This didn’t just happen in the last 10 years. This battle has been raging for a long time and will not come… Read more »

It’s not just that they don’t understand but rather, they do not want to take the time to learn history and understand anything that is outside their own agenda. What Barry and Kerry are doing is intentional, playing politics with people’s lives at stake, including our own. Traitorous really.
