Cochran will repay his run-off victory with your 2nd Amendment rights

It is said that no good deed goes unpunished. In the case of incumbent Mississippi Republican (I think) Senator Thad Cochran, no nefarious despicable deed goes without payback.

The Democrats to whom Cochran ran, enabling him to win a Republican run-off in the Magnolia state, are calling in their chits. According to Mississippi Gun News, “President Obama has not taken long to signal just how Thad Cochran will repay the debt for the quarter million dollar campaign donation from anti-gun Michael Bloomberg. A renewed push for gun control is on the horizon, and Obama is expecting great things from Bloomberg and his new anti-gun group. Now that he has a senior statesman in his hip pocket they expect to have greater success in their effort to push measures like background checks.”

So Thad Cochran is the victim of the age-old adage, never lie down with dogs — in this case jackasses — or you’ll get fleas.

As we wrote last week, Cochran decided to seek Democrat support by way of race-baiting tactics in fliers and robo-calls into the black community against his GOP opponent, conservative Chris McDaniel. And so it goes in the world of political chicanery – it’s time for Cochran to pay the grim reaper.

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg contributed $250,000 to Cochran’s run-off campaign and Bloomberg isn’t stupid — nor should we expect he’s willing to waste his money. The donation to Cochran didn’t come because Bloomberg thought Cochran was a cheeky fella who would get him Ole Miss season football tickets. No, the Michael Bloomberg-financed Every Town for Gun Safety has a stated goal of being able to financially challenge the NRA.

With Cochran’s win, Bloomberg of course now owns Senator Thad who will be expected to assist in that objective — the how will come by way of orders from Obama, who is angry that his gun control agenda has been thwarted. As Mississippi Gun News reports, “Since legislation has been controversial for some time, I thought that this was going to be a breakthrough moment, [the Sandy Hook Shooting]” Obama said. “It was probably the most disappointing moment I had in dealing with Congress.”

Don’t expect Thad Cochran to stand strong for the Second Amendment.

However, someone else is calling in his hold cards with Cochran: Mississippi Congressional Representative Bennie Thompson. In a recent National Review interview, Thompson stated, “We have historically black colleges in our state who do the best job they can trying to educate our citizens. I’d like to see efforts that they receive full funding. I’d like to see the health care of our citizens improved; our children die too young. I’d like to see an increased effort to make sure that the minority unemployment rate inn our state is reduced. So, there are a lot of opportunities for us to start with.”

And in typical fashion, Thompson further claimed, “I don’t know anybody black who likes the Tea Party. So, if a tea-party person is running against another Republican and you ask a black person, they’re going to support the regular Republican,” he said. “Their platform is counter to a lot of the beliefs of many African Americans. We think there is a place in government to make the lives of its citizens better; that there is a place in government to make sure that education, health care, and other things are available to all citizens. So, that’s a reasonable expectation of government. But this ‘limited government’ and other things that you hear from a lot of tea-party candidates does not resonate well with the black community.”

So this loon Thompson is ok with the liberal progressive policies that have decimated the black family? He’s down with Obama, Holder, and de Blasio going after school choice and charter school programs which afford a better educational opportunity for black children? He’s cool with the epic unemployment in the black community all the while his bosom buddy Obama seeks to flood the job marketplace with more low-skilled illegal immigrant workers? What Thompson wants is a “regular Republican” – i.e. establishment — that will join in alliance to keep the black community on this 21st Century welfare nanny state economic plantation. And that’s exactly what he got with Thad Cochran.

So way to go Thad – you’ve just resurrected the plantation mentality in Mississippi. You are Mr. Boss whitey scaring them colored people and have your new overseer, ol’ Bennie. You were successful in attacking a modern-day abolitionist in Chris McDaniel who wanted greater opportunity and freedom, not government enslavement for blacks in Mississippi. As well, Thad ol’ boy, you have further allowed the liberal progressive Leftists to demonize those such as myself who have escaped that plantation.

And that sir is why I find you and your actions deplorable — and will not celebrate a victory in November.

    • And they stay poor, unhealthy from ebt, and uneducated due to government dependence. Where are you to defend the citizens on those issues “major”?

      • No rebuttal? Typical deflection. Your own “supporting” statistics make my very case. Mississippi is a microcosm of federal dependency. They are bottom 5 in the union for everything worth noting. Congratulations on spewing your ignorance and showing us all how little you understand about truly ethical standards. I predict large amounts of name calling and a continued lack of intelligent thought processes……

      • I have said it before,,,where on other threads I can comment
and get some meaningful conversation,,for or against,,left
or right..I will not engage with you,,I will say what I have to say
        and thats that,,
Here,,,doesn’t seem the place for that..
so run along,,,and find someone else to argue with
        have a nice day……

      • No major rebuttal. You cannot answer because you have no facts to back up anything you claim. Just another Major dumbass troll. You are way over paid to be a troll, you should go back to what ever hole you came from and stick your head back in it

      • You got that right…this is a place where FACTS do not exist and if you present a fact….you will be called a nasty name!!

      • We notice instead of answering the question you attack her personally. Which shows your lack of character.
You on the other hand, won’t go far in life.

    • Yet they keep voting for dems and yet they still poor. Thad is not a true replublican, in fact my friend who lives in Miss. call him ” MIA Thad” So maybe it is the dumbasses who keep voting for the folks who promise them everything. As long as Thad keeps the government plantation going why should they get off?

Best social program is a job!

      • Mississippi is an overwhelmingly Republican state.

Don’t like Cochran, but the few jobs that pay decent in MS are jobs brought in by people like him – Federal contract jobs.

The best social program is a job with a Living Wage.

Those are few in MS, and always have been. Where is the call for employers to pay better?

  1. Based on the health index (a compilations of 21 factors) Mississippi is the second most unhealthy place in America. Not surprising given the life expectancy. Also per every thousand pregnancies in Mississippi 103 have teenage moms. (This is tied with N Mexico for second highest in the country)
It’s the 35th most state in Union,,, which would be so bad but when consider the lack of public service and the large amount of federal money they receive(45%) you got to ask what is the government doing in Mississippi.

    Answer; Nothing
    It really doesn’t matter who wins,,,Mississippians Lose….
but hey,,,2nd amendment trumps a crappy life

    • Major Dim Whit strikes out again. No sources no facts, just opinion, which coming from a liberal troll is not worth anything

  2. Economics: Mississippi has an even worse economy than California, in some ways. Mississippi is the poorest state in America. The poverty rate is 32.5% and median household income is $38,758.00. While the median earnings for an adult in Mississippi without an education is $24,060.00, less than 20% of the grown-ups there have their own bachelor’s degree and 70% of that 80% don’t even have associate’s degrees.

And you could talk about all this,,what really matters to people who live in that poor State,,,
but hey,,,,talk about the 2nd amendment….that will get the base all riled up…

  3. If you really really look at Mississippi, nothing to feel sorry for! They keep voting in the same white trash that has gotten that State nowhere! Bunch of dumb hicks that will rely on the Government until one day the money is gone! Then what Hicks? Blame them damn Yankees because you were to Stupid and uneducated to do anything for yourselves!

  4. S how goes the investigation into dems that already voted? last I heard in one they had 800 dems that potentially already voted.

    • How goes the investigation into 3 Tea Party members sneaking into the Hinds Co courthouse on election night?

How about the missing video from the door they sneaked in through?

      Vote tampering anyone?

  5. Here’s the devil we might have to pay. We can’t lose an incumbent seat in the Senate because we have a chance to flip that chamber and put Harry Reid on the bench. Without his hammer, Obama becomes even more ineffectual and the world will see the 240 odd bills passed by the House that have been collecting dust on Harry’s desk. So for the overall good of taking the Senate we may have to support Cochran despite his absolutely despicable display of a lack of character and backdoor dealings. You guys think Bloomberg didn’t think of this? Anyone want to bet he tosses a boatload of money at the liberal running against Cochran?
