IRS and Lerner targeted sitting U.S. Senator

How many of you find it absolutely unbelievable that seven individuals could have their hard drives crash at the same time with all their emails lost and totally unrecoverable? Yeah, I know, methinks it a bit of a stretch of the imagination as well. But that’s how it is with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Business as usual.

And lest you all forget, part of Obamacare — which was not delayed or waived – included the hiring of 16,000 new IRS agents, since the infamous agency is the enforcement arm of the healthcare law. Next year Americans will have the dubious honor of checking a certain box on their tax returns and providing healthcare insurance information — oh boy, I am just giddy with excitement.

So in the latest installment of “White House: The Young and the Lawless,” the House Ways and Means Committee has issued a statement outlining that Ms. Lerner — sitting back in retirement enjoying that six-figure taxpayer funded check — had her eyes not just on conservative groups but particular individuals.

Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI) announced the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) targeting of conservative individuals even includes a sitting United States Senator. According to emails reviewed by the Committee under its Section 6103 authority, which allows the Committee to review confidential taxpayer information, Lois Lerner sought to have Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) referred for IRS examination.

Yes, it seems not even a sitting U.S. Senator is beyond the long arm of the Lerner.

“We have seen a lot of unbelievable things in this investigation, but the fact that Lois Lerner attempted to initiate an apparently baseless IRS examination against a sitting Republican United States Senator is shocking,” said Camp. “At every turn, Lerner was using the IRS as a tool for political purposes in defiance of taxpayer rights. We may never know the full extent of the abuse since the IRS conveniently lost two years of Lerner emails, not to mention those of other key figures in this scandal. The fact that DOJ refuses to investigate the IRS’s abuses or appoint a special counsel demonstrates, yet again, this Administration’s unwillingness to uphold the rule of law.”

Never forget that the liberal progressive socialist way is rooted in fear, intimidation and coercion. Of course the Obama administration can tout success in Obamacare signups, but the alternative was an additional tax enforced by the IRS. It’s kinda easy to get folks to sign up for something under the specter of punitive action – just more Chicago thuggery. And to think IRS Commissioner Koskinen had the gall to state his agency hasn’t broken any laws and there’s no evidence of criminal wrongdoing. I think the Archivist of the United States took umbrage with that statement.

Oh, and have you heard the latest? Seems the dog also ate the EPA’s emails as well. Boy, those folks in the Obama administration sure seem to be technically challenged. But over at the NSA, they don’t seem to have any problem with collecting and keeping mountains of data. Funny how that works.

Anyway, documents show Lerner received an invitation to a speaking event that was intended for Senator Grassley. Instead of forwarding the invitation to Grassley’s office, Lerner immediately suggested to others in her office that the issue should be referred for examination. The Committee was able to investigate this information through its authority under Section 6103 of the tax code. A waiver was signed by Senator Grassley and his wife in order to make this information public.

Let me reiterate, Ms. Lois Lerner was a Democrat political appointee who has asserted her Fifth Amendment rights twice — she doesn’t want to incriminate herself. If indeed nothing criminal occurred, then why is she so worried about incriminating herself?

Man, ya just have to ask, what would the liberal media be saying if this was all under a Republican administration?

It’s easy when you have the media as a willing accomplice to everything the Obama Administration is doing. They will bury it and look the other way.

Wonder how she sleeps at night? Does this woman not have a conscience? We only have a certain amount of years in this world, I don’t understand how some people prefer to spend those years creating discord in the lives of others. How sad must she be in her own life?!

She’s a dedicated Marxist who delights in damaging America, just like her boss.

In the Balkans or South America Lois would have had a spot against the wall and a complimentary blindfold provided……she is laughing at the American people every day for the rest of her wretched life…….

It is facinating to note that the Lame Stream Media is reporting virtually nothng of this. We must not only hold those responsible accountable, but we must also hold the media responsible for failure to report the facts ( hmmm isnt that a reporters job? ), duplicity of form (their blatant hypocracy), willful manipulation of the events facts (in a court of law, that could mean jail time), omition of facts, willful and deliberate misrepresentation, manufactiring of evidence, destruction of evidence, harrassment, malicious intent to discredit, encouraging violence to further their own agendas, and the list goes on and on…oh… Read more »

My best friend owns a computer repair business, It is virtually impossible that the seven hard drives of those particular individuals could have gone bad. If they said the seven random drives went bad that would be believable. but not the seven people who happen to be in the middle of this mess

They have redundancy and run a hot site just in case with plenty of back-ups.

Complicity = Involvement as an accomplice in a crime or wrongdoing. Eric Holder’s inaction I believe therefore constitutes both an Admission and Confession of wrongdoing (See Webster’s Dictionary)

So what you’re saying is, since Chuck Grassley is a US senator that makes him too important to be subject to IRS audits? Only us mere citizens have to worry about that?

No he’s just a example of how far she would go to target her opponents.

What, by doing her job?

Her job is not to target those who disagree with her boss. She had no bases to send that invitation for examination, plus she wouldn’t of think otherwise but to pass a Democratic invite through. No reason not to.
