Obama celebrates Earth Day by emitting 375 tons of CO2

In a case of astounding liberal progressive hypocrisy, President Obama burned more than 35,000 gallons of fuel on Earth Day yesterday, emitting 375 TONS of carbon dioxide. The President took the Marine One chopper to Andrews Air Force Base, flew to Washington state and then onto Tokyo, Japan.

Shortly after Obama’s takeoff, the White House issued a statement that “Earth Day is about taking action.” And pollution, apparently.

According the Daily Mail, Air Force One consumes 5 gallons of jet fuel for every mile it flies. The U.S. Energy Information Administration estimates that burning the fuel emits 21.1 pounds of CO2 per gallon. Therefore the total presidential fuel consumption for Earth Day, not including automobile motorcades, is an estimated 35,609 gallons.

Barack Obama and Al Gore have assured us that man-caused climate change is a fact. I may question that, but I have no question about another fact that’s undeniable: they’re both hypocrites.

  1. LTC West don’t you realize that barry and gore are exempt? there are the elitist class, they are also exempt from spreading their wealth to the poor and ravaged people of our society.
In light of this facts they may spew as much CO2 and Carbon Monoxide as they want. Why you ask? because their mission improves the country. /sarc

  2. I like the idea of teleconferencing politicians. Maybe a few should run on that pledge.
Except Billary, Pelosi and a few others. Audio would be just fine.

  3. He flew out to see the landslide site at Oso, Washington, in his speech he kept calling it “Ah-so” like it was a Japanese or Chinese town. Don’t you think he could at least pronounce a three letter town name correctly? The landslide happened over a month ago, the community and the Puget Sound area stepped in with volunteers for the digging and searching, donations of cash and needed supplies and taking care of what needed to be done. Obama was a day late and a dollar short as usual…

    • Oh great…..I’m off to find a list to add that to my gaffe list (see above). This isn’t the first time. When he was in Florida, he said “Hello Sunshine!” in Sunrise, Florida. Gaffe #109.

  4. Always setting a good example. What a great leader. Such sacrifices he has to make. Only has one thing in made at all times. What is in it for me and how much can I get away with.

  5. In addition to CO2, Ovomit emitted the hot air that he’s full of. You know, that’s probably what’s causing the global warming that the environmentalists are getting their red diapers in a bunch about.

  6. CO2, used by plants to create oxygen. Is that the “green house” effect? Plants that can be healthier because of the increased CO2 and thus release more Oxygen.
