New poll contradicts Obama’s sunny forecast for Obamacare

Late last week, President Obama took to the podium in the White House for an unannounced press conference to tout eight million sign-ups for Obamacare.

The President said (defensively), “I don’t think we should apologize for it. I don’t think we should be defensive about it. I think there is a strong, good, right story to tell. They said nobody would sign up; they were wrong about that. They said it would be unaffordable for the country; they were wrong about that.”

And as usual, he ranted against Republicans: “I find it strange that (their) position on this law is still stuck in the same place that it has always been. They still can’t bring themselves to admit that the Affordable Care Act is working.”

Really?  I guess he’s never taken the time to read the American Health Care Reform Act, written by doctors, unlike Obamacare, written by legislative aides and cronies in Nancy “We-have-to pass-the-bill-in-order-to-find-out-what’s-in-it” Pelosi’s office. Then again, I doubt President Obama has even read his own signature legislation, all 2,600 pages and the nearly 10,000 pages for regulations — however, with all the waivers, exemptions, and delays, is it still a law?

And another thing, who are the eight million who’ve signed up and what does “sign up” mean as opposed to “have paid” and are covered under a policy? I know. I’m nitpicking.

Soooo, unfortunately the results from a recent Rasmussen poll of likely voters may take the wind out of Obama’s sails regarding how well the thing is working. According to the poll:

  • – Unfavorable opinions of the new national health care law are at their highest level in several months, while the number who think the quality of care in this country will get worse is at its highest level in over three years.
  • – 58% have at least a somewhat unfavorable opinion of the health care law, with 43 percent viewing it very unfavorably.
  • – 59% now believe the quality of health care will get worse under the new law.
  • – 59% think Obamacare will force up the cost of health care
  • – 76% feel it is at least somewhat likely that the health care law will cost more than officially projected
  • – And what has to be worrying for Democrats in the midterm elections, 69% of voters not affiliated with either major party have an unfavorable opinion of it.

Seems Obama may be a tad out of touch with everyday Americans if one accepts the results of this survey. Unfortunately, Americans know what they are experiencing by way of the failed Obama economic policies — of which Obamacare is one, with 20 new taxes. Truth is certainly an obstacle for liberal progressives, but the reality is that in this new information age, it can’t be hidden.

Maybe that’s why the Obama administration wants to “globalize” control of the internet and allow those who care far less about freedom of speech, expression, and the free flow of information to be the new monitors, the “thought police.”

Bu you know what they say: “In a universe of deceit, truth becomes a revolutionary act.”

He can “CLAIM” anything he wants to, as he always does. The numbers are fictitious, the lies are pervasive. The polls they take are made up as they go so they can make their talking points seem to work. Then of course down the road, he recants what he said and blames the press for misquoting him.
Is it working Hell No! If it was such a good thing you would hear everyone chanting how good it was. I have never heard anyone other than obama trolls and plants say that it was good

You did watch the mover The Secret to many times. I was in a room with about 70 people for a ACA seminar and out of the 70 only two like ACA. Guess what they are not paying a dime because they both been out of work for 2 years and have given up looking. ACA is bad especially for the middle class. Obamacare needs to go away and stop trying to kill the middle class just like Hitler did

THAT STRONG GOOD STORY WOULDNT HAPPEN TO BE A LIE, WOULD IT?

Working??????????? He got people to sign up, but then what. Signing up doesn’t mean working. It may be but it’s too soon to say that.

O-care was designed to fail many years ago.
The number of actual non-subsidized payers are becoming far overburdened by the subsidized.
This means that insurance companies will raise premiums even more than
the current doubling and tripling. Also deductibles and co-payments
will rise. In a couple years the middle class will no longer be able to
afford health insurance due to it’s cost’s. O-care will (pre-planned)
be deemed a failure and either by executive order or legislation, Govt.
institutionalized healthcare will be mandated.
This is another collectivist/ socialist plan that has been many years in the works.

The numbers are especially meaningless since we’ll never know how many people who liked their healthcare had it cancelled.

I believe that he is making stuff up that has no bearing, not even remotely, to the truth. I find it odd that the magic number was reached the day of the end of the sign up period. I find it interesting that less then a week before it was announced, Sibelius said she had no information on how many people paid or what the demographics were. Someday, this administration will come to an end and the truth will come out. When that happens, expect some real revelations on the fiction that these clowns spewed. This is not even spinning;… Read more »

With all due respect sir., Obama is not incompetent or stupid but very
calculating and very focused on bringing America to her knees. He knows
nothing of being an American. He could not care less about Blacks or
Latinos other than to use them as pawns. The Saudis are his Master, the
Koran his road map.

This administration lies anytime our president opens his mouth. As an IT professional, I can tell you that “all” of the numbers were available from day one. All an analyst needed to do, was run an automated program to get a report on “anything/any numbers they wanted. The numbers are fabricated. The numbers don’t tell us how many of those individuals signed up for Medicaid. The numbers don’t tell us how many of those signing up were the same one’s that lost their insurance. We had 30 million people in this country w/out insurance, prior to the ACA. So I… Read more »

Let’s forget for a moment the ambiguities of that number. Let’s assume that all those people are covered and have paid, yadda yadda. Eight million people amounts to less than 2.55% of the total population of America.

……

How shameless do you have to be to be PROUD of a number that small?

So they said there were 20/30 million Americans? not insured. Millions had their insurance canceled; many of which were told over and over and over by the potus that they would be able to keep that insurance (liar). So if 20 to 30 million were NOT insured and millions lost their insurance, even if you said just 1 million that would make the total uninsured at 21 to 31 million and 8 million have signed up for obamacare? Do the math how is that a success if 13 to 23 million people still do not have insurance? OH and of… Read more »

So he causes nine out the ten of the enrollees to lose their previous coverage, and he claims this a success because they were forced to sign up for his plan? This is like the glass company going around town breaking windows, and then announcing record sales.

Lol still quoting Rasmussen polls this is the same guy that said Romney would beat king Obama and we all know how that turned out lol. “You right wing hacks never learn you commit the same mistakes over and over again. It’s no wonder you folks can’t win an election. # Learn how to start winning elections.”. Funny, I read these exact same words in another comments section earlier. This is just a troll that goes from site to site spewing the same drivel. Get a real job, oh wait, you can’t because your kind destroyed all the jobs. My bad.

He ran on 45 MILLION people didnt have insurance, and those EVIL republicans wanted to let 45 MILLION people to go w/out health care. IF…….45MILLION didnt have insurance, why have only 8 million signed up?? 1/2 of those people by the way, LOST their own insurance, BECAUSE of ObamaCare, and were forced to the new system. millions went to free-medicade, and it is only 1.4 million who have signed up that had NO insurance previously HE LIED………again
