GOP leadership needs to take off the gloves in the ring with Reid

Years ago, I learned a very valuable lesson from Marine 1st Sgt (Ret) Jim Reinfinger: “If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, it’s all because your tactics suck.” My problem with Republicans — and in this case, Senator Mitch McConnell — is they don’t fight back and highlight all the lying and hypocrisy.

Whenever “Scary” Harry Reid takes to the Senate floor and goes off on one of his delusional rants, Senator McConnell should come right down, verbally kick his arse with the truth and illuminate his duplicitous nature.

The latest instance – all this baloney coming from Senator Reid about a subsidiary of Koch Industries allegedly circumventing sanctions on Iran – even though Reid himself has accepted tens of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from companies that have done exactly that, as the Washington Free Beacon reports.

In true Alinsky mode, Harry Reid and the liberal progressive media have decided to pick the target, freeze it, polarize it, and attack it. How funny there is no mention that the Koch Brothers actually rank somewhere around number 59 on the list of major political donors, while George Soros is way ahead of them.

“The Kochs made improper payments to win contracts in Africa, India and the Middle East,” Reid claims. “And they sold millions of dollars of equipment to Iran, a state sponsor of terrorism.”

Truth be told, Reid has accepted campaign contributions from companies that engage in even more widespread corruption abroad.

The Free Beacon reports, per the Washington Examiner, that Reid has accepted more than half a million dollars in contributions since 2009 from employees and political action committees of companies under investigation for violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

Reid has also taken tens of thousands of dollars from companies that, like Koch, have done business in Iran through foreign subsidiaries, including General Electric ($25,500 in PAC contributions), Hewlett-Packard ($14,500 in PAC contributions), and Sony ($14,500 in PAC contributions).

Reid has also taken $26,000 from Boeing’s PAC. The company is currently trying to reestablish its presence in Iran even though the country remains on the State Department’s list of state sponsors of terrorism.

The hypocrisy from the Left is truly laughable – which is why the term “chuckleheads” is so apt. Consider right now the “enhanced interrogation tactics” report sanctioned by Senate Intelligence Committee Chair Senator Dianne Feinstien. All of a sudden we find Democrats — like the clueless Nancy Pelosi — acting aggrieved about instances of “torture” and how they feel the reputation of America is tarnished. Well, what they fail to mention is that they were all briefed on this program and its tactics, and back then didn’t say a peep. It’s all politics, Alinsky-style. And clearly Barack Obama has done more to damage our reputation globally than any interrogation tactics could do.

One of Speaker John Boehner’s favorite sayings was “you don’t get into a pissin’ contest with a skunk.” I agree Mr. Speaker, you shoot the skunk.

We cannot engage liberal progressive socialists on the ideological battlefield unless we understand their strategy and tactics, which means reading Saul Alinksy’s Rules for Radicals cover to cover. Until Republicans — indeed conservatives — understand this is not a fair fight we will continue to operate in a manner that leaves us reactive, not proactive. You don’t win on defense folks.

I read their damn playbook and will attack relentlessly and at will. I just wish Republican leadership would as well.

  1. Your defense of the Koch brothers is that two wrongs make a right.
    That’s a lame excuse.
You are not denying that they circumvented sanctions… you’re just saying other people did it too.

Yes, Democrats like Reid are being hypocrites.
    You are right.
But it is absurd to call someone a hypocrite while being hypocritical yourself.

    • Hypocrisy is all about pretending to be something you are not. In this case it’s Harry Reid demonizing rivals for engaging in activities which his allies are mixed up in. Pot calling kettle black. Why single the Koch brothers out?

      Therein lies the hypocrisy.

  2. They don’t call him Dingy harry for no reason, the man is a liar, he is as corrupt as they come. He is Power mad and takes after bho as much as he can. He vies for a seat at the power table of the new world order. If that should come to pass and I pray it doesn’t.
harry deserves to be run out on a rail

  3. Harry Reid is a reprehensible little man. I truly hope that what goes around comes around comes sround to hit him square in the kahones.

  4. Off topic, I thought I’ve been hit with a few bullets, but my diagnosis suggests Allen West has too.

    I promise revenge.

    • Some people can not understand why people can not be trusted to carry fire arms.
You don’t agree with a person so your solution is to shoot them?

      Epic failure

      • Oh, please, I’m not that petty. I don’t need a gun and I don’t need a knife.

And I wasn’t threatening Allen I was promising defense for him.

And by hit with a few bullets I mean bit by drooling man eating vampires, trying to suppress his nightly aura.

      • I thought Del was pretty clear. Guess it is more difficult to see clearly when you live in a liberal dose of fog.

  5. The Koch Bros. need to take a lesson from Rush. For years, Reid did this same thing to Rush until he turned the tables on him. Research “Rush auctions off Reid letter”. It was epic and it was the thing that shut Reid up. The ONLY way to stop these people is to get in their faces and not back down EVER.

Limbaugh Letter Fetches $2.1 Million on eBay

  6. I agree with you Colonel West! Seems like the junior Senator from Texas has more capabilities than the senior Senator from Texas and a few more. We need more strong Senators to rebut the lies of Harry Reid.

  7. They have had Reid dead to rights on bribery and conspiracy charges for months now. A Utah businessman has provided cancelled checks, correspondence, emails, etc.It doesn’t matter. The mainstream media are unindictABLE co-conspiritors.

  8. Reid is not the only liberal Democrat hypocrite. Powerline reports that the No. 3 Democrat in the Senate, Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is also going after the Koch brothers hammer and tongs – even though Chuckles The Clown HIMSELF has in the past received big campaign donations from ….wait for it…Those Evil Koch Brothers! And he wrote to them to THANK THEM PROFUSELY for giving him money!

  9. I’ve got an idea any politician accepts so much as a dime from any damn body they get tossed out on their ass

  10. YES! YES! YES! 1000 times, YES!!!! The inexplicable refusal of Republican leadership to F’ing FIGHT BACK is what is causing this rift in the Republican caucus and what is causing “Tea Party” challenges to them. We are trying to defend ourselves from hypocritical SCOUNDRELS that will say and do anything to get control of our lives. We desperately want somebody to Fing FIGHT for us. Treating a lying piece of chit as a colleague that you’ll meet for a brandy after he just got done calling you a racist misogynist who wants to eat small disadvantaged children for dinner is not cutting it. FIGHT!

  11. Reid is a lying hypocrite…He still needs to explain the 16 million he stole and gave to his granddaughter……

      • The Amount is not the point. Harry Reid is a liar, a cheat, a pompous arse, a disgrace to American politics and could give a rats A$$ about the people of this nation. He claims Republicans are obstructionists, well there are a lot of bills he will not allow on the Senate floor presented by Democrats and Republicans. “This We’ll Defend.” and “Semper Fidelis.”

      • If the Amount is not the point why exaggerate it ?

The fact of the matter is he didn’t steal the funds. He used them to buy Christmas Gifts for staff , from his grand daughters line of jewelry.

They didn’t itemize the amounts with the proper code in the year end report.

It was legal to use the money in this manner.
To avoid confrontation concerning paperwork and political posturing Reid wrote a check .
My point is this, when you exaggerate and spread misinformation, who is going to believe you when you are telling the truth over a serious matter?

      • Oh and not itemizing with the proper code was just a mistake by this lifer and his staff? BS

    • Exactly, Glen! That is how these scum operate and how we need to fight back. “Harry Reid stole $16M from his campaign and used it for underaged girls.” Then one defender yells “No! He only stole $16000” while another chimes in with, “yeah! and it wasn’t for underage little girls it was for his granddaughter.”

Then one of us can reply with, “Harry Reid stole how much?” while another asks “was that girls or boys?”

We can start a whole campaign around the disgusting tactics these disgusting people have used to keep the feckless One in office.

      • Keeps the sheeple busy and distracted, but it doesn’t solve any problems. Just high-salaried busy work.

  12. I would get into sooooooo much trouble if I were in politics. anytime someone like Reid got up and went into one of his bouts of stupidity, I would get up and go “blah, blah, blah, blah, blah!” and follow up with ” not even you believes any of that nonsense”. maybe after awhile, they would quit getting up and spouting off because they wouldn’t want to submit themselves to it. I think one of the biggest problems we have in Washington right now is that even as completely ludicrous as the “progressives” agenda is, they stand behind it; they can’t explain any of it, but they stand behind it. the conservatives we have right now don’t stand for anything! they just disagree with the liberals. if you don’t stand for anything, it is pretty difficult to get up and give a decent argument. there are a select few, but very few, that can and do, but they even have the rest of the GOP against them. Washington is broke, folks. it needs fixed. the best way to fix is to PURGE! ALL of them! including (if not especially) the supreme court! start over with the original Constitution, term limits for all civil servants, no more lifetime politicians in office, no more lifetime benefits, no lawyers(inherent liars and manipulators of words and statistics), no riders – all bills “stand alone”, etc.. no bill should ever be passed, or “forced” if you have to pass it to see what is in it – what kind of complete nonsense is that? no bill should ever be over a couple of pages long. the longer it is, the less chance it would get read, and the larger chance it would have “crap” in it. we need to bring honesty and integrity (back) to Washington D.C.. for our place in the world and for the good of the country. right now, people choose what they consider to be the least of the two evils, and although I may not agree with their choice, they would be correct – politicians in general are not to be trusted, and all seem to have ulterior, if not sinister motives. PURGE!

  13. i agree 100% that Republicans need to take the gloves off and play by the same standards/rules that the Dems use. It means reading and implementing Rules For Radicals, smearing strong candidates with allegations of affairs/unwanted advances, etc.

      • We have tried that but none in the GOP have spine enough to support lungs large enough to make their voice loud enough to be heard. Those who have been afflicted by the mental disorder of political correctness seem to very hard of hearing for voices of reason; and when educated under our socialist/communist public educational system they become nearly stone deaf.

    • One of the first steps should be to call a spade a spade. They may call themselves progressives, but they are just communists. A skunk by any other name is still just a skunk.

  14. We need to scrub the House and Senate floors of all these Linksy-ites, socialist, Communist, leftist and so called progressives who are actually regressive.

  15. As skunks, the GOP has taken and prevented everything else possible for progress, why not finally take the gloves off and do something productive for once!

  16. This is why we need more warriors like Allen West and Ted Cruz in DC; men who are not afraid to go toe-to-toe with the hack politicians, and serial liars, like Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, et al.

    What I’m really trying to say is…. Cruz/West 2016!!

(And by the way, we could certainly use several more warrior women as well)

    • I like your thinking! Can’t figure why Allan West doesn’t come up more often.

I figure by the time obumma leaves we could be looking way to close to war. We need a man with military experience.

  17. McConnel is more interested in fighting the Tea Party than Harry Reid. I guess like alot of the old farts heh’s getting senile. I think it was C-PAC when he came out with that rifle. He’s no Charlton Heston. Not even a poor imitation. Need some people with real cajones to trip the Old Fart (Reid) up!

  18. Sadly, GOP leadership is NEVER going to take off the gloves and kick liberal butt…they are in on the scheme!!!!! There exists only a few exceptions to that rule, in BOTH Houses combined! Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Trey Gowdy, and just a very few others actually seem interested in salvaging our Constitution and preserving our Country. The ONLY way to get it done is to do it OURSELVES!!!!!!!

These two quotes, both attributed to Edmund Burke, are very fitting in this discussion:

“When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall, one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle.”

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing”

    • I hope you’re wrong that the Republican Leadership is; “in on the scheme.” I’m guessing as the midterms get closer the war of words will intensify to expose the foibles of key Dems, maybe certain Republicans to get the change needed to rebuild the credibility of this great republic.

      • I would LOVE to have to admit that I was wrong on this one, Sarge! However, from the performances that McConnell, McCain, etux. give on a nearly-daily basis, I am concerned that I won’t get the opportunity to do that…..

      • Lets say you are correct, I just talked with my Senator’s office and Ted Cruz’s to pull off the gloves and expose Harry Reid for what he is. In-fact I challenge everyone here to do the same. If all of us pull together and tell our Senators, to politely grow a set maybe just maybe someone will answer and fight the good fight.

  19. Harry Reid has recently been exposed in the dispute in Nevada between the gov and a rancher over grazing land. It has been learned that Reid has been involved in land grabbing with the Chinese. Further investigation are finding It wasn’t the first report to notice curious dealings involving the Chinese and America’s top Democrats. On Jan. 20, 2013, it was learned Chinese government-backed economists were proposing a plan to allow Chinese corporations to set up “development zones” in the United States as part of a plan proposed by the Chinese government to convert into equity the more than $1 trillion in U.S. Treasury debt owned by the Chinese government.
The next day, Jan. 21, 2013, it was documented the Obama administration had begun to allow China to acquire major ownership interests in oil and natural gas resources across the USA.” Obama is selling off our lands ,oil, gas, mineral rights to the Chinese since 2009
