There ain’t nothin’ progressive about progressivism

I peruse lots of information sources for my own personal edification and in turn to provide analysis and assessments here on our website. One of those sources is Canada Free Press. I am grateful that we have liberty-loving neighbors to our North who realize that a strong, free market-based economy America bodes well for Canada and the rest of the world.

A recent piece by Alan Caruba in the Canada Free Press expounds upon the dangers of progressivism in America, President Obama’s adopted philosophy of governance. He writes, “Barack Obama is the final piece of the map in the progressive movement’s century of steady destruction of the U.S. dollar, income taxation, and massive liberal intrusion into the lives of all Americans from birth to death.”

The roots of progressivism lie in the pronouncements of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels as outlined in the Communist Manifesto. These governing principles were adopted and implemented by men such as Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Castro and Chavez. However, in America these principles found their way to our Constitutional Republic by way Theodore Roosevelt (who accepted progressivism and changed from being a Republican), Wilson, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Johnson, Carter, and of course now, Obama.

As Caruba states, “Obama’s further efforts to destroy the nation by adding millions to its many welfare programs are the result of its failure to increase economic growth from a dismal two percent per year, the lowest in decades. Presidents Kennedy and Reagan took office and reversed recessions. Obama has not.”

In The Great Withdrawal: How the Progressive’s 100-Year Debasement of America and the Dollar Ends, Craig R. Smith and Lowell Ponte bring out these points,

Either we successfully reboot the original operating system of individual freedom, free enterprise, and small government that America’s Framers built into the U.S. Constitution or the Progressives will by manipulation and force continue to impose their failed collectivist ideas on humankind’s future.”

Make no mistake about it, “collective ideas” is another way of describing communism, often referred to as socialism. They aim to replace capitalism, private property, selfish individualism and God with a human-made Eden, a utopian humanist society where an all-powerful state would equally redistribute the world’s wealth and power to the working elite.

These elitist collectivists will NEVER get any sort of utopia, never. They may succeed in tearing down life as we know it, but all they will end up with is anarchy…and they will NOT like anarchy, guaranteed.

Life as we “know it” started to erode when taxes were lowered by RWR.

THE CURIOUS CASE OF THE IRP6 Six Christian businesspersons, five black and one white, two who are military veterans, were falsely accused of crimes and sentenced to prison.[1] They have been incarcerated for over 18 months.[2] Involvement with the Federal departments of both DHS and NYPD, and the demands of these departments raised expenses and resulted in debt. So it was a problem about debt and should have been in a civil court, but all six men were charge in a criminal court, as a “mail and wire fraud case”. . .seems rather obsure! “I asked Mr. Thurman and Mr.… Read more »

Doubtful that it has anything to do with them being “christians”.

I too follow Canada Free Press. it has been very educational over the last year. This is all about Agenda 21 of the UN, A “NEW WORLD ORDER”, one Global Economy. a socialist/communist idea that would never work. The only country standing in the way is THE USA. The very same reason the want our guns, so we cannot resist the changes that are coming. The following is a link to a library of Insider reports. The insider is from the CIA. I have been following the reports for a year now and it has not been wrong once. Timing… Read more »

Agenda 21: President George Bush was one of the 178 heads of government who signed the final text of the agreement at the Earth Summit in 1992

Your point is? It doesn’t matter who signed what. it was done, this is now, like it or not it is coming and we stand in it’s way thus explaining what’s going on.

Yes. And read the Wall Street Journal editorial today regarding Venezuela. Make up your own mind about the parallels for the U.S.

Alan Caruba:

“Twenty-six more states asked to be excused from key requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act, an exemption that would curb the education law’s impact considerably.” If the Obama administration grants waivers to all the new applicants, three quarters of the states would be exempt.

Seems to forget:

2005

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan announced Monday that he approved the application of Texas, Bush’s home state, for a waiver from the No Child Left Behind Act. This makes Texas the 42nd state to receive permission to ditch the notorious education law’s most onerous strictures.

Add to the mix the fact that much of the promised funding failed to materialize and many early critics insisted that No Child Left Behind was nothing more than a cynical plan to destroy American faith in public education and open the way to vouchers and school choice. Now a former official in Bush’s Education department is giving at least some support to that notion. Susan Neuman, a professor of education at the University Michigan who served as Assistant Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education during George W. Bush’s first term, was and still is a fervent believer in the… Read more »

I used to say this very thing – that NCLB was an exposure of the hypocrisy of public education’s excuse as a monopoly and money grubbing institution. However, I underestimated the greed and laziness of the average parent/school teacher/school board member. We even had legislators who passed school choice initiatives, and then out came the hue and cry in defense of the ever-broadening range of school ‘services’ to be had at public expense at “our schools.” I have news for people – those services are not free – and you and your children are being sold into bondage. Pay your… Read more »

I have a lot more I can say on this topic, but I think I’ll just settle for this:

That ain’t happening!

jimwilson81

That will never happen. They would a constitutional amendment and would need 2/3 of the Senate and the Congress just to call a convention for proposing amendments. Then they need legislatures of 3/4 of all the States to approve it. I don’t see these happening unless Obama decides to bypass Article V of the Constitution completely

Marshall law imposed before his term is up. This could be done with higher and higher food costs until there is a revolt. He imposes Marshall Law and by passes congress making it powerless to do anything. And a third term. Sad isn’t it?

For one thing it is called Martial Law. For a second thing, he would be setting himself up not for impeachment but would be putting his self in the crosshairs. He would cause a very bloody civil war.

Hey they ignored the constitution in running 0bama for the office in the first place. He is not a natural born citizen. What makes you think they wont ignore the constitution again and run him for a third term?

jimwilson81

He will try to ignore it. He has already broken his Presidential oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution. They have already tried several times to change the XXII amendment of 1951 since Obama has been in office but the votes are not there to change it. If Obama tries to bypass and ignore the Constitution again, that gives us the right to seek his removal from office any way possible. .

I have been telling people this for forty years. It is so gratifying that more and more people are becoming aware of the progressive intentions.

Spot on, Surly. Ayers calls himself a “small C” communist but he’s also a domestic terrorist and…obama’s friend. Says a lot about obama.

Americans like things fast. They want them now. We don’t like waiting. The one shot cure to the economic and financial downhill slide that we are on is the repeal of the 16th Amendment and the passage and implementation of HR 25, THE FAIRTAX.
