Threats and disregard from Afghanistan and Iran: Just another normal week in the region

Globally, we are facing a crisis of respect, regard and credibility — but in particular with Afghanistan and Iran. Just this past week, Afghan President Hamid Karzai allowed the release of 65 Taliban prisoners who had the blood of Americans on their hands. In a blatant show of disrespect to the sacrifices of American men and women in his country, Karzai stated, “If Afghan judicial authorities decide to release a prisoner, it does not and should not depend on America.” Never mind the fact we were fighting to protect his people from the murderous intent of those people.

Further, Karzai said Bagram prison was “against the law and Afghanistan’s sovereignty and one of the matters of tension between Kabul and Washington.” I hope the US will stop harassing Afghan judicial authorities and respect Afghanistan’s sovereignty.”

I don’t actually recall Karzai complaining about harassment when he was receiving tens of billions in American taxpayer dollars. That’s the thanks we get.

This level of belligerence presents a crisis for America and an erosion of our global standing — not to mention disrespect to our battle-weary troops. But, in that, he’s not necessarily alone. From restrictive rules of engagement to allowing a Muslim cleric to pray at the ramp ceremony for the fallen American warriors of Extortion 17, our own administration seems to have less and less respect for our troops and what we ask them to do.

So is it any wonder enemy nations don’t respect us either? Last week Iran announced it is sending warships into the Atlantic Ocean towards US maritime borders.

And by the way, the Times of Israel reported that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called Americans liars, intent only on bringing down Iran’s government. Khamenei also called it “amusing” if America thought Iran would decrease its desire for and pursuit of “defensive capabilities.” Bear in mind, this is the modern, “moderate” government with whom we are supposedly negotiating to allow the continued enrichment of uranium for their peaceful purposes.

Just last Friday, Iranian TV aired this video simulating the bombing of Tel Aviv and a US aircraft carrier. Iran has repeatedly threatened to wipe Israel off the map if their nuclear facilities are attacked by the West. Does the Obama administration really think they’re kidding? I implore our elected officials to stop kidding themselves until it is far too late.

  1. On the lighter side the actual ‘simulation’ is hilarious. Great work to the ‘special’ effects team. I wasn’t expecting to laugh. But on a serious note. Obama needs to buck up and do something. You can’t talk to people like these. It’s all nice for liberals to say No way blah blah but sadly the world isn’t like that and the only thing they listen to is pure US firepower.

  2. When Jimmy Carter was president Iran had no respect for us and now Obama has topped that! It’s going to take someone like Col. West to put some fear in them like Reagan done Iran

    • You are so right Pam! This was a declaration of war! You can’t play nice with these people, they hate us, and think America is a joke, especially now with Obama at the helm. He needs to go, like RIGHT NOW! And these “IDIOTS need to be obliterated!!!! They are the scurge of this planet and we will never have peace, anywhere, as long as they are allowed to breathe!!!

  3. Well if that is what they want then I say bring it on.Other wise Iran is a cowerad. To scaired to attack us.They should be for we can wipe them off the face of the earth and leave the land to where no one could live in it anymore.

  4. The video simulation may have impressed the Iranian public but it has the fault of assuming Israel and the U.S navy would be sitting ducks. Their planes and/or rockets would not get to within 200 miles of either target without being swept from the air. As much as Israel is hated by her neighbors, why is it she has not been taken out as yet? It is because her enemies know the high price they would pay for being able to accomplish very little by way of launching an assault against her. Also, it is obvious they seriously underestimate the defensive and retaliatory capabilities of a U.S. carrier group. Just sayin’. Much Love, God Bless.

  5. both iran and afghanistan leaders are BLOWHARDS!! they are always talking about what they want to do, what they are going to do…and yet they still do nothing but talk!!! if that warship/s feels froggy enough to fire on american soil or american naval vessels…then i guess we turn iran into iraq and eliminate any and all islamic nation treaties and/or policies….they will then and FOREVER be known as tyrant, temper throwing children with no friends!!! then they will not only lose their uranium enrichment facilities, they will lose ALL of iran to america…and then we should GIVE it to Israel….just sayin!!

  6. read what the Bible says about Rag-Heads. no rest from them til Jesus returns. so if you want any peace-on-earth til then, ‘nuke’em’

  7. The film is propaganda with the purpose to desensitize the world to not react when they do attack. The release of prisoners is a concession by Karzai to the Taliban who will kill him as soon as our military is gone – probably by a group of the prisoners he let go, and probably with the weapon we, I mean our children, purchased for them.

  8. Sir, this is the man who said, “the future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.” Get real. Whose side do you think he’s on. And half the country still loves him because he gives them free money.

  9. If this happened, while Obozo and the crew discussed what they would do, days after this occurred , Israel would have already annihilated Iran… They take action….

  11. “Y’all know that
the Council for Islamic Relations would scream from the rafters and the ACLU
would take the case and state that the Imam’s first amendment rights were
violated. Why? Because we operate under a system of political correctness
and cultural-religious relativism. religious liberty as enshrined in our
Constitution.” There, I fixed that for you.
