More on why Obamacare may ultimately destroy our Republic…as planned

As we discussed yesterday, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) reports that Obamacare will reduce the size of America’s labor force by some 2.5 million full time equivalent (FTE) workers by 2024.

The response from the White House and its propaganda mouthpiece, the New York Times, that this is a good thing is simply appalling. I am reminded of the Superman comic book Bizarro world where everything is in reverse. And so it seems in the Obama administration, where work is bad, staying at home for government subsidies is good, and the “fundamental transformation” advances.

Why work when you can just stay at home and receive your guaranteed government income? Every day we move closer to the end goal of the Cloward-Piven strategy.

Avik Roy of Forbes provides his take on this bizarre assertion emanating from the White House,

The CBO wasn’t responsible for the most amazing thing that happened yesterday. That title belongs to the Obama White House, where Press Secretary Jay Carney claimed that 2.5 million Americans leaving the workforce was a good thing, because they would no longer be “trapped in a job.”

Trapped in a job? So now President Obama will liberate us from the toils of actually earning a living by just paying us to stay home and produce nothing. And exactly how, more importantly who, will be generating the resources to free us from being trapped in a job?

Shall we just borrow more money ad nauseum, ad infinitum? Apparently yes, which is why Obama will go down as the president who doubled the nation’s debt on his watch. Remember, it was $10.67 trillion upon his arrival, it’s now $17.3 trillion — and for those low information voters, $10.67 trillion was the total amount accrued by every previous president. The other option is that we shall just tax those who work, build, create and innovate in order to meet the progressive socialist utopian dream.

So what will be the incentive to work?

On one hand, the government, aka “Uncle Sugar,” will pay you to stay at home and be free. On the other hand the government, by force and coercion, will tax those still possessing a work ethic — those who actually make an economy work, in order to feed the beast of the welfare nanny-state and the dependency society. It is the seminal battle between the opportunity and dependency society, pitting the producers against the takers, and if the percentage of takers grows beyond the producers, then the society collapses. There is no incentive to work. There is no incentive to produce. The society collapses.

Alexis de Tocqueville summed it up in the 1830s, in his book, Democracy in America, but the original quote came from Alexander Fraser Tytler:

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.
The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.

The grand experiment in liberty, freedom, and democracy known as the American Republic stands at 237 years since its Declaration of Independence. It seems that we are on the path described by Tytler. His words certainly seem prescient and disconcerting for these times.

So what is the true purpose of Obamacare? Apparently according to White House spokesperson Jay Carney, it’s to destroy the foundation upon which America is built — a hearty work ethic — and usher in economic bondage to the central government.

I shall be a slave to no man and those of you who choose to be sadly threaten the American DNA, which until now, flowed with liberty and freedom for future generations. I will not live in Obama’s bizarro world. I will fight liberal progressive socialism and ensure our nation thrives with courage and liberty. Who will join me to say, “Molon Labe!”

I do not consider it the role of government to force people to work against their will, nor to support them if they choose not to. But that is a decidedly different question from whether it should do more to enable them not to work.

It certainly IS right out of Bizzaro World. And it gets downright scarier everyday. The wacky among us are sitting on their thrones in DC. Their followers are wearing blinders and are convinced that the administration knows what is best for all of us.

Rise up, America. This is not who we are or who we were ever meant to be.Three more years of these moronic ideas? What outlandish crock of BS will they come up with next? It is mind boggling. Truly mind boggling.

Amen, Colonel West! It all seems so “Orwellian” to me…. Indeed, a sad state of affairs.

There is another theme throughout history that seems to be repeating itself. When we read the Old Testament (book of Judges ) we see this repeating pattern for the nation of Israel: The people turn to God and God delivers them (think American Revolution)>>The people turn against God and SIN (think removing prayer, and bibles from our schools, legalization of abortion, promotion/celebration of homosexuality)>>God removes His hand of protection and their enemies take them captive and oppress them–I will pause here because this is where I believe we are now in America (we are in the midst of being taken… Read more »

But we are not Israel, and we are post Jesus Christ’s setting up of his Church. I’d like to think the West has become the “advanced society” is has due to Christianity, inclusive of all of the mistakes and sins of oppressive leadership.

Sadly, in my opinion, this is an accurate and scary assessment of our electorate: “The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a DEPRAVED ELECTORATE willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a MERE SYMPTOM of what ails America. Blaming the PRINCE OF FOOLS should… Read more »

Dear Progressives: Slavery is always bad, even if the government is the slave owner.

Here is what’s happening in pictures:

I fear for the world my 8 year old son is growing up in. He and I discuss some issues at a childrens level because I want him to have an understanding of what is going on around him and form his own ideas, which I respect no matter what he says. Having said that, he read the title of your column over my shoulder and said, “I get it now mom. Obama is Darth Vader and Mr. West is Obi One! Oh, and that VP guy is definitely Lightening Hands.” (Lightening Hands is the really bad guy in the… Read more »

I still say Obama had Jason Furman go out and spread this propaganda nonsense to cover himself for all those like myself who can now only find part time work, those who have recently had their hours cut to part time status, and the many more that Obama knows will have the same thing happen as the employer mandate draws nearer. He is trying to brainwash the American people into believing this is a good thing and others into believing that many of us are choosing to now leave or have our hours reduced because of his wonderful healthcare plan.… Read more »

There is one way you can accomplish all this – throw your hat in the ring in 2016. You have served your country with honor, Colonel, but Lady Liberty calls you again. Will you deny her?

If the minimum wage is raised to $10.10 , then the 29 hour workers will be making MORE($292.90/week) than if they were working 40 hours at $7.25 ($290/week). My question is this: Will making more for 29 hours of work make them ineligible for the healthcare subsidy? I don’t know the income limitations. Food for thought.

I thought these new revelations would be the best reason to not pass the minimum wage hike……because it WOULD interfere with someone getting those subsidies. But they would somehow manage to twist things around so these poor “folks” could work less that 29 hours. Darn! I hoped we could save some money
